Game of Apocalypse - Chapter 35
Chapter 35 Plague Corpse
John slumped on the ground motionless as he died of exsanguination.
The black mist was constantly nearing Odin but Odin was still unable to discern the real appearance of the person beneath the black mist.
“Adolf!” Eddy shouted at the black mist, “This brat is Odin, the one higher-ups ordered to kill!”
Eddy intended to struggle to John’s side, retrieving John’s body but the wounds on his body were too excruciating. Every breath he gasped was too exhausting, so he remained on his spot to recover stamina.
Finally, the black mist reached the hallway and Odin could witness its true appearance of the black mist.
In the middle of the black mist was the man called Adolf and the mist was released by him. Every inch of his skin was emitting an ominous black mist.
Those wisps of black mist enveloped Adolf and his entire body moved within the black mist. He appeared to be around 1.85 meters in height and had a robust physique but the color of his face was slightly greenish and his lips were purplish as if infected by some plagues.
In the mind of Odin, the words ‘Plague Corpse’ he saw before suddenly emerged. He still recalled the description of the Plague Corpse, ‘Use the Black Death to stimulate one’s body and have a powerful plague physique. Unafraid of death during a battle and able to use plague to battle.’
Ergo, the man before him was infected by the Black Death but he was using it as a weapon. Not only he wouldn’t die due to the plague, but it would also strengthen him. A similar concept to a zombie. Moreover, his unique traits allowed him to not sense any pain, letting him fight while unafraid of death.
As for the black mist surrounding him, it probably was dense pathogens that emanated from his body, causing his already sickly face to look even worse looking.
Will one die by Black Death if being injured by him? Odin was slightly worried.
“You’re Odin?” Adolf talked in a slow and hoarse voice. His voice had heavy sickness that couldn’t be concealed. Staring at Odin with his vaguely red eyes, traces of blood could even be observed in the eyes.
Odin stared at the approaching Adolf without answering him. He never interacted with Plague Corpse before and was also unaware of methods of dealing with this profession. So, he was concentrating his mind without letting even the slightest guard down.
Whether or not he was Odin, anyone who barged into the Black Death Society’s HQ only had one end, death.
Seeing Odin not answering him, Adolf wasn’t angered by it. He was like a machine without emotions that only carried out orders and killing.
“I received the order to kill you. So whether you’re Odin or not, I will kill you. Shall I give you ten seconds to escape?” Although Adolf’s voice was hoarse, the words he uttered were clear except he remained emotionless. Despite having a frightening appearance, he was surprisingly calm.
“Stop the nonsense. It’s either you or I die.” Smirking at Adolf, Odin sounded as if this matter was irrelevant to him.
“Okay.” Adolf actually replied to Odin. This slightly startled Odin, Adolf was the most polite enemy he encountered, even to the point of being slightly cute.
Soon, the black mist surrounding Adolf began moving. As if subjected to external stimuli, it moved even faster, almost forming a tornado. This scene lasted for two seconds before the mist gradually vanished.
Instead of describing it as vanished, it was Adolf who absorbed it. Adolf’s eyes became bloodshot as veins popped out on his face. The initial ordinary face became slightly gruesome.
As though losing reasoning, Adolf slammed his fist right at Odin’s position. Odin retreated a few steps, avoiding Adolf’s punch but the spot he was standing had a crater instead. Moreover, gurgling black gas was radiating from the crater.
Judging from this punch, Adolf was more of a warrior-type person possessing a poisoning trait. The situation was slightly overwhelming. Odin frowned as he tried not to approach Adolf’s attack range.
Conjuring tens of icicles, all of them darted straight at Adolf. Seemingly without the intention of dodging or defending, Adolf remained motionless on the spot. The moment the icicles almost struck him, he abruptly dexterously moved his body, using his fists to smash every piece of the icicle.
Odin raised his brow and wondered what kind of power was enough to directly smash the icicles apart. Even Eddy’s ice barrier just now was incapable of stopping his icicles yet this man directly smashed them with his fists.
He initially figured Adolf’s physique would be lacking in Agility and speed. So, it was unexpected for Odin to witness the dexterous scene just now.
Arching his lips, a smile formed Odin’s face as he felt things were getting interesting. He never encountered a Plague Corpse before and never imagined it would be such a powerful profession.
Adolf continued his attack while reducing his distance from Odin. Relying on his Agility, Odin spiraled on the wall, seizing the opening between Adolf’s attack and hammering squarely at the back of Adolf’s head. Using the momentum, he landed behind Adolf.
However, Adolf was unable to sense any pain and didn’t halt his steps at all. If it was any ordinary people, the strike just now would immediately knock them out but Adolf didn’t.
Realizing Odin wasn’t in front of him anymore, Adolf turned around to grab Odin’s collar. The series of actions just now happened in an instant.
Unbeknownst to Odin, the strike just now received no responses from Adolf, and was even able to swiftly turn around to search for him.
There wasn’t enough time for Odin to retreat, thus his collar was clenched by Adolf.
“Heh.” Adolf chuckled coldly, “Rest in peace, kid.”
With that, Adolf punched straight at Odin’s temple. Hurriedly activating the ice barrier, a small shield made out of ice appeared before Odin, weakening the momentum of Adolf’s punch.
Meanwhile, Odin’s dangling legs were clamping at Adolf’s waist. He used his flexibility to twist Adolf’s waist, aiming to flip over to Adolf’s back.
Because of the ice barrier, Adolf’s fatal punch didn’t land on Odin’s face. Instead, it hit the ice barrier.
