Global Online Survival - Chapter 35
Chapter 35: Spirit Pet Turtle
Ye Jun could earn more if he didn’t reveal as much.
And compared to silver coins, Ye Jun was more interested in exchanging for rare items.
However, the Bloodline Fruits came too easily for him, one per day, so there was no need to bargain so much when trading.
It was best to get rid of it as soon as possible. Once it was sold, there was profit, and this thing wasn’t a unique item, so sooner or later, its price would drop.
Thus, Ye Jun didn’t haggle that much.
He poured the molten iron out of the crucible and replaced it with silver ores.
It was better to melt down these silver ores into silver ingots for silver coins sooner rather than later.
He worked on it into the night and finally got all the silver ores melted down.
“+17 Silver Ingot, +1 Mithril Ingot”
These silver ores, surprisingly, came with traces of mithril.
Mithril wasn’t ordinary silver, but material for refining weapons.
While ordinary silver could only be used as currency, mithril was a forging material for silver-grade weapons.
However, Ye Jun was still a Beginner Forger, so he was unable to create a silver-grade weapon for the time being. He had to level up to an Intermediate Forger first.
The good thing was that Ye Jun kept building a lot of bronze-grade weapons these days, and had also forged iron night and day. His proficiency had increased a lot, so he reckoned he’d level up after refining all that iron ore at the bottom of the sea.
Busying himself for the afternoon, it was finally time for dinner now.
Hungry and exhausted, Ye Jun didn’t want to work too much. He bought a catty of flour from the in-game store and used two taels of flour with water to make dough.
Then he found an iron plate to set over the fire, spread the pastry, cut half a catty of tuna meat to put on it, plucked some bean sprouts, picked a few slices of cabbage to put on top as garnish, and finally rolled the pastry, and thus an easy handmade pancake was made.
“Tuna handmade pancake, purely handmade!”
Before he ate it, it was time for his daily food bragging!
Every picture of food would blow up the lurkers, let alone late at night—this was a depth charge!
“It is heartbreaking that Almighty Ye is hawking handmade pancakes late at night. Being reduced to such a state, tears are unconsciously flowing from the corners of my mouth.”
“Why did I open the channel to read the message when I was lying down to sleep? I should have slept—everything exists in dreams.”
“I baked two potatoes tonight, purely by hand.”
…
Ye Jun didn’t even look at the message after he sent it and started to eat!
One handmade pancake certainly wasn’t enough. Ye Jun’s appetite was much larger now. Two more fruits should be enough to sate himself for the day!
A pear in his left hand and a banana in his right.
Having eaten and drunk enough, Ye Jun quietly lay down on the recliner and looked at the sky.
The dark night sky was dotted with stars, and a bright moon hung in the sky, already nearing its full moon state.
The slight sea breeze and a lack of mosquitoes made for a sound sleep.
Early the next morning, Ye Jun woke up to the blazing sun.
Looking at the fireplace that was about to go out, Ye Jun added a bundle of firewood and began to prepare today’s breakfast.
For breakfast, he kept it simple!
He still had flour from yesterday, so he made half a catty of noodles.
He added half a pot of water to the pot and boiled the noodles. The leftover fish from yesterday was still fresh, but Ye Jun had raised some good stuff.
He pulled up a net cage from the side of the boat. There were two large lobsters inside.
A simple lobster noodle in the morning would be great!
He ate all the noodles and gulped down the soup in one go.
Original soup and food.
Ge…
Soothing!
Now that was the official start of a new day for Ye Jun.
First, check-in.
“Ding! Checked in successfully! Received a Spirit Pet Turtle!”
‘A spirit pet?’
Ye Jun first froze, and then he was ecstatic!
A Spirit Pet wasn’t the same as a wild monster. No matter how well you raised a wild monster, it would always have a wild nature and may turn against you one day.
But spirit pets were raised from a young age, contracted, and treated their masters with loyalty.
It was no exaggeration to say that a spirit pet would not harm a hair on its master’s head even if it died itself.
Ye Jun wanted to breed a Boss, like the electric ray, and to subdue it by feeding it spirit pet rations.
But what wild monster could compare to a spirit pet?
Neither their intelligence nor potential was on the same level.
A white turtle egg appeared in Ye Jun’s hand.
This sea turtle egg was not quite the same as an ordinary sea turtle egg. It was as big as a fist and had a glossy jade-like appearance with a faint circle of veined lines.
Crack… crack…
The sound of cracking rang out, followed by the entire eggshell shattering and a small turtle crawling out with its head, probing.
“Spirit Pet Sea Turtle: has a trace of an Ancient Dragon Turtle Bloodline. It can evolve if its bloodline is awakened. Raise it well, it will definitely live longer than you!”
Wuwu…
The little turtle made a peculiar sound as it rubbed up against Ye Jun’s palm.
The dark head stretched out as if in search of food.
And Ye Jun could sense the little turtle’s thoughts.
Just one word—hungry!
He didn’t expect that pets and their master’s minds to be in sync!
‘What does this guy eat?’
Ye Jun remembered the jar of pet animal rations.
After he poured out a pet ration that seemed like a bone, the little turtle’s eyes instantly lit up. Its little head impatiently reached out from Ye Jun’s palm and swallowed the pet ration in one gulp.
Wuwu…
One piece of it wasn’t enough!
The little sea turtle shook its head, stuck out its tongue, and looked at Ye Jun ingratiatingly.
He gave it another piece!
And another piece!
After eating three pieces of pet rations in one breath, the little turtle was contently lying in Ye Jun’s palm and proudly crossed its legs.
‘Eat and then sleep?’
‘And, this pose… Damn, I’m not even as comfortable as you.’
‘If you’re already so lazy at such a young age, what will you become when you’re older.’
“Get up and get to work!”
Seemingly sensing Ye Jun’s displeasure, the little turtle rolled over and fell into the sea with a flop.
Ye Jun was slightly shocked. He was not afraid that this guy would drown, but he was worried about the fish that were tethered to the back; the shark might just swallow this little guy.
It was a good thing that the great white shark was in a daze from being electrocuted all day. Watching the little turtle swim around it, the shark couldn’t do anything with its belly turned up.
Ye Jun was still worried and hurriedly called the little guy back. After all, the electric ray didn’t know this guy, and with a high-voltage shock, he might be having stewed turtle soup tonight!
Its little short legs flopped and paddled, but it couldn’t climb onboard.
Ye Jun fished it out, but the little guy still wanted to go down, finding it more interesting in the sea.
It wasn’t that Ye Jun couldn’t part with it and put it in the sea, but some things had to be explained.
“You, let’s start with a name. What would be a good name?”
“How about we call you Nine Thousand Years Old[1] that’s what they all seem to call you when you look like this.”
Ye Jun stretched out an index finger, knocked the little turtle’s head, and said, “You understand what I mean. We are in a survival game, and I don’t raise freeloaders. What can you do? You tell me!”
The little sea turtle whimpered.
“You said you can help me find supplies?”
The little turtle nodded as if to say again that it was gifted and trustworthy, and not a good-for-nothing!
