Chapter 28: Move Your Hand Away!
“Just criticizing you will waste everyone’s time!” Charlotte reprimanded Lin Bai loudly.
The geniuses in the class looked at Lin Bai with all sorts of blaming gazes.
“Hey, hey, what has this got to do with me?”
“I’m also studying seriously, alright!”
“All of you laughed when you heard the Tumbler Spell. In the end, wasn’t I the only one who learned it?”
“In fact, I thought your laughter had interrupted me!”
“I was in a daze. I didn’t disturb the order in the classroom!”
Lin Bai ridiculed endlessly in his heart, but he could only hold it in.
If he really said these words in his heart, he would instantly become the target of everyone.
Regarding this, Lin Bai could only pretend to be harmless and scratch his head to bluff his way through.
In the end, Charlotte only shook her head in disappointment, then ignored Lin Bai.
“I think everyone should remember that at the end of this month, it will be our annual Arena Match.” After reprimanding Lin Bai, Charlotte turned to continue speaking to her students.
When the topic of the Arena Match was mentioned, the gazes of some people in the class began to grow passionate.
Lin Bai could even feel the air in the classroom boiling.
This annual Arena Match was a gathering that countless magic students were waiting for!
In this competition, countless dark horses would emerge every year. Some gifted students would also fade into the masses.
The hierarchy of the magic students would definitely be overturned in this competition overnight!
For the students with mediocre qualifications, the Arena Match was also an exciting and splendid banquet.
When gorgeous magic confronted and intersected with each other in the arena, it was just as brilliant as a meticulously rehearsed performance.
As a result, when Lin Bai heard this news, his blood began to boil as he became excited.
He had heard about the Arena Match when he was under Cage.
At that time, he was also tempted.
“The Arena Match requires all of our students to make preparations with all their might. We cannot slack off at all.” At this point, Charlotte glanced at Lin Bai, intentionally or otherwise. “In particular, behaviours like daydreaming in class are absolutely not allowed!”
Charlotte was clearly implying something.
Laughter erupted in the class again. Those with discerning eyes knew that the latter half of Charlotte’s words were aimed at Lin Bai in an eccentric manner.
Lin Bai shrugged.
There was no need for him to care about such a person.
His current focus was actually more on the Arena Match that Charlotte had mentioned previously.
Since that was the case, making a trip to the library was an even more urgent matter.
“It’s a rest day tomorrow, but I hope everyone doesn’t relax. Take this time to revise the magic you’ve learned.” After Charlotte finished speaking, she waved her hand to indicate that class was over.
Lin Bai immediately beamed.
A day off meant that he could finally go to the library to openly learn new skills!
…
The next day was a rest day.
For the first time, Lin Bai woke up early. As soon as the sun appeared, he charged straight towards the city library.
The city library was also a luxurious building, making up almost the entire facade of Orlando City.
The wall was made entirely of marble. Together with the tall spires, it made the entire library look Gothic.
Lin Bai did not hesitate at all. As soon as he entered, he went directly to the fifth floor.
In the entire Orlando City, only a few people had the authority to enter the fifth floor of the library. Thus, the books collected on the fifth floor were destined to be extraordinary.
Frankly speaking, they were all forbidden books.
There were some spells that were too powerful, as well as some physical skills that would cause great side effects when used.
They were all stored on the fifth floor to prevent them from falling into the hands of the criminals and being used by others to poison the world.
However, Lin Bai did not have any bad intentions. He just wanted to find a spell that was adequate for the Arena Match.
Even though some of those overly ordinary spells were powerful, others had summarised these spells and came up with directed countermeasures against them.
Thus, it was very difficult not to fail miserably in the Arena Match with such spells.
When he arrived at the room of forbidden books, the fifth floor was dim. It was completely unlike the previously brightly lit and dazzling floors.
There were only a few small oil lamps that gave off a gloomy and mysterious feeling.
As soon as Lin Bai approached the room, the security guard outside the door rushed forward and stopped him.
“No unauthorized personnel allowed!”
The guard observed Lin Bai and found that he was only an ordinary youth.
He could not help but scoff slightly as he looked at Lin Bai with a slightly teasing gaze.
Those who had the authority to enter this place were all powerful figures. How could a young brat have the authority to do so?
He really did not know his limits.
Then, the security guard’s eyes flashed. He discovered the school badge of Sorcha College on the collar of Lin Bai’s coat, and his mocking smile deepened.
“Sorcha College?” The security guard’s tone was clearly filled with mockery. “I’m afraid that the elders in your school don’t have the authority to enter this place. Even the principal of Sorcha College can’t enter as he wishes. He has to apply to our curator in advance!”
“As for you, a small student, it’s better not to cause trouble for yourself.”
After clearly rejecting Lin Bai, the security guard sat back down and no longer looked up at him.
Lin Bai’s heart did not fluctuate much. Instead, he asked politely, “If I have the authority, how should I enter?”
The guard glanced at Lin Bai as if he was looking at an idiot.
“We will record all those with the authority to enter. As long as you place your palm on this stone pillar, the door will naturally open.” The security guard pointed at the stone pillar in front of the door.
Lin Bai was just about to place his hand on it when the security guard stopped him again.
“Move your dirty hands away from the pillar,” said the security guard disdainfully. “Is this stone pillar something that anyone can touch? If those big shots find out that a kid touched this stone pillar, they’ll simply think that you’ve tarnished it!”
In the eyes of the guard, the stone pillar was extremely sacred.
Only the important figures in Orlando City had the qualifications to use it. As for a nobody like Lin Bai, he did not even have the qualifications to touch it!
“I’ll return these words to you!” Lin Bai was angered and shook off the guard’s hand. “Move your hand away!”
After he finished speaking, Lin Bai simply and roughly took a step forward, covering the stone pillar with his palm without any explanation.
On the other side, the security guard was ready to gather the other security guards through the voice transmission stone and forcibly kick out the uninvited guest, Lin Bai.
However, a loud announcement spread through the entire fifth floor, causing the security guard to freeze.
“Lin Bai, you are allowed to enter the fifth floor.”
A resounding announcement reverberated throughout the entire fifth floor..
