Chapter 45: Only Hatred
Liang Xinchen’s steely face stared at Su Bei, his lips showing signs of prejudice.
His smile was icy cold and his tone even more so. “Come with me.”
As he finished, he did not even bother to get anything out of the car, walking straight inside.
For three years Su Bei had thought about what would happen if she and her mother could restore justice for her father.
Today, it finally happened.
However, she did not feel happy.
She would have never expected that the person in charge would be a friend of Zuo Xiao.
Six years ago, they spent their memorable youth together. However…
She could only say one thing: it was not worth remembering the past.
Su Bei was brought into the office of the governor by the secretary. He said he wanted to meet her by himself.
Su Bei breathed in and told herself that she had to endure everything for her father.
The governor’s office was simple but clean and bright.
Su Bei walked into it and stood in front of Liang Xinchen calmly.
Liang Xinchen looked at the exceptionally calm lady in front of him. Compared to six years ago, she had matured a lot and had become even more beautiful.
He smiled gently and looked at her with his sharp eyes. “Your relationship with Zuo Xiao ended?”
Su Bei did not expect him to ask that. It was not the first time she experienced being looked down upon. However, at that moment, she felt really uncomfortable.
Liang Xinchen was once her friend.
Su Bei breathed in. “It ended six years ago. Didn’t you know?”
He is a friend of Zuo Xiao. Is it possible that he didn’t know about it?
Liang Xinchen smiled coldly. “Who does the baby in your body belong to?”
Su Bei was utterly shocked. Nobody knew about her pregnancy other than her, Yanan, and Chuxia.
How did he know about that?
“How did you know about it?” Su Bei looked at Liang Xinchen anxiously.
Contempt flashed through his eyes. “Then it’s for real? Who’s the father of the child?”
Su Bei held her hands tightly. “Who told you about that?”
Liang Xinchen’s expression darkened. His mixed emotions were hard to decipher. “At Liang City, there is nothing that escapes my attention. Nothing that I don’t know about!”
Su Bei laughed coldly. “You’re right. You’re the head of Liang City.”
Then, she raised her eyes and stared directly at the man. Her smiling lips would make anyone shudder from the sight of them. “However, Mr. Governor, I believe that this has nothing to do with what happened to my father, right?”
Is he trying to interrogate me?
Liang Xinchen coldly laughed, his gaze landing on her body.
She expressed that she did not want to have another word with him other than matters related to her father.
“Then you can leave.” Liang Xinchen said.
He lowered his head, not looking at her while shifting through the documents in front of him.
Su Bei bit her lip. She knew that if she left, everything in regards to her father would be set aside.
However, what’s the point of staying?
After being humiliated and shamed by him like that, could she still depend on him?
“Still not leaving?” The man appeared in front of her, his big figure overshadowing hers, and he lowered his head and looked at her while smiling with contempt in his eyes.
Su Bei lifted her head and smiled. “Sorry to bother you!”
As her hand was about to touch the handle of the door, suddenly her body was being turned around and pinned down on a white wall behind her.
The man’s smell filled her nostrils. From what Su Bei remembered, he seldom got angry.
However, she could confirm that he was definitely angry.
Liang Xinchen panted heavily and firmly held her hand while his were shaking.
“How can you always have your way around the elite? Why were you giving me an attitude just now?”
