Haymand’s Blood - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
“…..!”
Lloyd looked around in bewilderment for the girl. When his gaze left the spot she had disappeared from, he became stiff. In front of him there stood the girl in front of Kairas.
Fortunately as she looked at Kairas the tip of her sword was still pointing to the ground. But for a moment Lloyd once again doubted what he was seeing.
Surprisingly, the sword clanked onto the floor as she dropped it, slowly she lifted her hand to touch Kairas, who held his sword to her throat. Lloyd didn’t understand the current situation as he was taught no matter what he should never drop his sword.
“….?!”
Kairas reacted the same as him, filled with surprise. The moment the girl raised her hand to the blade touching her neck, he felt a tremendous amount of pressure forcing him to drop it.
Trying to somehow understand the unbelievable situation, he raised his eyes in surprise as the girl’s pale hand pulled him towards her. Her power was immense.
“Oh, you are the purest of Haymand’s blood I have ever seen.”
A slightly husky but pleasing voice tickled his ears as her red eyes looked right at him.
The strange touch embarrassed him as her cold breath hovered over his lips. He quickly reached out and grabbed her hand, holding her wrist with all his strength.
“Who are you?”
His tone was as harsh as to freeze the woman, yet instead the woman’s smile grew wider. He froze the next second.
The hand that he had been holding so tightly was now free and stroking his cheek. It was a slow and seductive move.
“You were the one who woke me up. I got tired of people disturbing my sleep, but I’m still hungry. You’ll have to sleep with me and satisfy me until I fall asleep again. Just as your ancestors have done so far.”
Hearing those words come from such a young lady, a gasp escaped the mouths of the stunned audience. Their faces were pale with shock.
Their Emperor was a cold-blooded man, his nickname was “the King of Blood”. He had fiery red hair, silver eyes, and was so handsome any woman would fall in love with him but he lacked emotions.
The number of people struck down by his sword in the war was incalculable. To their Emperor, a smiling face from a lady only seemed to say “Embrace me.”
Kairas thought he had heard wrong but when he realised he was not mistaken, his face hardened into an expression cold enough to freeze the hall.
“…Did you just ask me, the Emperor of this Empire, to sleep with you?”
The girl unhurriedly lifted her hand and patted his cheek but as if smiling wasn’t enjoyable anymore her expression quickly turned sour.
“Oh my. It’s always the same for everyone coming from Haymand’s bloodline. Boy, did you know that your ancestors said the same thing as you did? The same thing happened to the noblest of you royals. But in the end, they all came and slept with me. If you’re curious about who I am, look at the imperial book. My name is Serenity, and you may call me Seren because you possess the blood of Haymand.”
Serenity spoke quietly as if she was talking to a child. She looked around. Perhaps because of the strong scent of Haymand’s blood, she was more thirsty than ever. The sigh of the blood of the three fallen knights was not far away. Her eyes, moving around, stopped at Lloyd and his knights standing below the podium.
Her thirsty red eyes contained cruelty, and the tip of the sword that was on the ground slowly rose. If Kairas had agreed right away, the isane thirst would have been relieved. But there was no point in sleeping with people who weren’t interested.
“Then it’s not a big deal.”
Smiling languidly, Serenity lifted the blood red sword and swung it towards the side where Lloyd and the knights stood. Even though it was a slow swing, the impact from the sword struck Lloyd and the knights in a blink of an eye.
“Ugh…!”
The result was devastating. Only Lloyd, who raised the sword and resisted, was alive. However, the rest of the knights were cut by the sword as they flew backwards and collapsed, blood spraying in the air. The sword that was flung at them had almost cut the wall in half.
“…What are you doing?!”
Serenity looked at Kairas as he cried out in anger. Her eyes were eerily beautiful, she smiled as if she was satisfied with the blood soaked floor.
“You can’t help it. If you don’t want to sleep with me, I have no choice but to quench my thirst in another way. If I kill 8 people… I will stay sane for 3 days.”
Kairas was speechless when she said she killed people to quench her thirst. Insanity seemed to be the right word for the woman.
“I’m full, so I can put this away for now.”
As Serenity’s red eyes mysteriously shone, the huge sword in her hand rose into the air, shrinking to a size smaller than a fingernail. The blade had turned into a silver ring which clasped to her earlobe. The earring glittered like a jewel.
She, who had quickly turned the sword into an earring, approached Kairas, who was stiff in his seat. Without a moment to waste, her small, pale hands caressed his face. He had no choice but to lower his head and make eye contact with her because of her tremendous force that would not permit rejection.
“Three days, boy. Think carefully. I don’t want to paint this palace with blood either.”
A gentle whisper entered his ears and Serenity let go of Kairas’ face, turning away. Neither Kyras nor anyone else in the hall moved as she exited.

“….”
Kairas watched the palace doctor apply medicine to Hyad’s wounds. Lloyd was also watching Hyad with a nervous look on his face. After meticulously treating Hyad’s body, the royal court lady stood up and bowed to Kairas.
“There are 18 places where he has been beaten or bruised, but fortunately there’s no fatal wounds or broken bones. I’ve treated all of his wounds, he’ll be awake in a day or two.
“Good work. You may leave now.”
After the Imperial doctor left, Lloyd tutted as he watched Hayd, who was asleep.
“If there’s no witness, then the conclusion is that he was beaten;. If he wakes up to his pride being demolished, he’ll be pissed.”
His tone changed to informal language before he even knew it. Kairas also answered in a casual way like he was used to such an attitude.
“I guess so, since he has a lot of pride.”
“By the way, the girl or woman or whatever from earlier, is she a monster? My hand went numb before I even tried to raise my sword at her.”
Lloyd’s face dimly flashed fear as Serenity recalled the sword that had been swung at him and his men. The bloody sword that struck him was so powerful that it made his hand, holding the sword, tremble. If he hadn’t quickly defended the attack, he would have been slashed and lying on the floor, just like the rest of his men.
“…I don’t like her.”
Kairas’ gaze sank with anger. He gritted his teeth as he thought of Serenity, a brazen girl who told him to sleep with her because killing all of his knights in front of him wasn’t enough for her.
However, he recalled her pretty red eyes and languid smile while looking at him, and suddenly he stiffened. Surprisingly, his body was responding regardless of reason.
“…”
Lloyd’s voice rang throughout the room as his gaze lowered.
“But are you really refusing to sleep with her? To be honest, she’s my ideal type, she’s very beautiful, thin, pure but also enchanting. If it were me I’d say- Ack…!”
A thump noise echoed. Unable to finish speaking Lloyd clutched his head and crouched. Kairas had smacked the back of his head mercilessly.
“You don’t have any pride. If you want to sleep with someone, go find a woman. I have no intention of doing that.”
The irritated voice of Kairas shut Lloyd up. From the experience that he collected as he was by Kairas’ side for a long time, it’s best to remain silent in this situation.
Lloyd was wary of his friend’s expression and quickly asked as he rose from his chair.
“Are you leaving?”
“…There is something I need to do. Please look after Hyad.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll keep him safe.”
As Lloyd waved his hand, Kairas turned away smiling. If he was going to find out about the girl who said her name was Serenity he would have to read the Imperial Book.

Knock Knock.
Kairas’ stopped signing documents after hearing the knock. When he entered the study, he had told the secretary not to let anyone but the chief of staff interrupt him, so it was obvious who was coming in.
“Come in.”
At his permission, the door to the study opened and the chief entered with a thick book. Walking right up to Kairas, he bowed deeply.
“Is that it?”
“Yes, Your Majesty. The book you told me to bring.”
After receiving the book politely handed by the chief of staff and putting it down on the desk, Kairas suddenly asked as if he just remembered.
“Ah. Where did you say she was?”
“Are you talking about the royal daughter of Khazar? I think she’s in shock, but she’s fine…”
“I’m not asking about the royal daughter, I mean that crazy woman.”
Only then did the chief, who realized who his lord was talking about, quickly replied with a perplexed look.
“She’s still in the room.”
“Room? Which room are you talking about?”
“It’s right next door to His Majesty’s bedroom. Black General Menster told me to be careful not to go against her will, so I took her to the room she wanted.”
“…”
“Should I move your room…”
Listening carefully to the voice of the chief, Kairas gritted his teeth again
Eternity behaved as if the palace was her own house, which he did not like at all. Plus she was next door to his room, but the most annoying thing was that there was nothing he could do about it nor could he command her.
“I will take my leave now, Your Majesty.”
Noticing that the Emperor was not in a good mood, the chief of staff quickly left the study. As soon as the door to his study was closed, Kairas could not contain his temper and angrily threw the book on the floor.
“Haa…”
Kairas’ took a deep breath. He thought that he could control his emotions now, but he guessed he wasn’t able to anymore. When the anger subsided, his eyes wandered to the book lying on the floor.
“….”
Standing up from the chair, he approached the book he threw. Bending over and picking up the book, he dusted it off and walked to the sofa before plopping down.
“If you want to win, you need to know more about your opponent. It’s the law of the universe.”
Mumbling softly, he opened the book he was holding. His fingers flipped through the pages quickly to find what he wanted to know.
