Heavenly Castle - Chapter 99
Chapter 99: Meeting
Translator: “Pink Tea” Editor: ”Ryunakama”
Lead by Diego and Rabia we were heading to the main office of Reginshion company, located in the aristocratic district.
「Ooh. As one would expect from the aristocratic district, the townscape is completely different from the rest of the city.」
I said while looking around, to which Ayla and Yuri replied with nods.
「It’s probably due to the size of the territory, but all of the buildings here are smaller than at the aristocratic district of Azur Kingdom. But in turn, all of them are at least three-stories high and look very extravagant with tasteful ornaments and statues.」
「They are built in a style that’s different from the Imperial Country of Fleida, so it’s a very curious sight. However, they create a feeling of being surrounded by high walls, so it’s a bit oppressive. I think, were they to have a little bigger yards the impression would’ve been different.」
After listening to their thoughts I look up.
Certainly, all of the surrounding buildings were extravagant in their own way, but cramping together, those tall buildings cut down the view on the beautiful blue sky.
Nonetheless, that townscape still was unmistakably more beautiful and orderly than of any other country.
「Now, this way please.」
And it seems that while we were, enjoying the surroundings, we arrived at our destination.
Proudly puffing his chest, Rabia was looking our way while pointing to one of the buildings.
「This is the head office of our company. What do you think? Magnificent isn’t it. We can proudly say that compared to other trading companies, our main office is the most beautiful building.」
Diego said, also puffing his chest with pride.
Blindingly pure white walls and vividly red roof. Doors and window frames were of metallic material that shone with silver.
While we were admiring this indeed beautiful sight, Rabia struck Diego on the head and turned to us with a wry smile.
「Well, we only recently established a branch in the aristocratic district…… So it’s only a matter of our building being a new one. Ha Ha Ha.」
And after such a display of modesty, Rabia made his way towards the store while dragging Diego by the nape of his neck.
Then, with perfect timing, a merchant-like young man appeared from the building.
「Welcome to Reginshion company. Dear customer… Oh, branch manager Rabia?」
Noticing Rabia the young man blinked a couple of times and then looked our way.
「Diego-san and…… Ah, could it be that you came concerning high-grade slaves?」
Making a light bow to us he asked for confirmation from Rabia in a small voice. And that very instant Diego raised his voice, glaring angrily at the young man.
「What are you saying! Taiki-sama and Yuri-sama are royalty of two countries……」
Diego’s yell was interrupted by a dull sound.
Judging that Diego began spilling too much unnecessary information Rabia shut him down with a fist. Giving a sidelong glance to Diego, that crouched holding his head with both hands, Rabia showed a forceful smile to the young man.
「…They are customers of a certain noble bloodline. Courteously guide them to the third floor. I will go ahead to notify Sieg-dono.」
Being told so by Rabia, the young man immediately changed his dumbfounded expression and straightened his back.
「Y-yes! Dear customers, this way please!」
The voice of the young man cracked from nervousness. With wry smiles, we entered the store, went deeper into a surprisingly spacious interior, and climbed the stairs.
「Sorry for how narrow the stairs. Merchandise is displayed and sold on the first floor, but the basement and the second floor are adapted for storage purposes, so the stairs aren’t that wide…… Ah, but rest assured we keep the third floor clean.」
Following the young man, that gave us explanations on the store in a strange jabber, we came up to the third floor.
The third floor welcomed us with a narrow corridor that had various paintings decorating the walls. Among them, as if it’s the most natural thing in the world, also were hanging paintings of slaves, with a price tag attached.
Gazing at them with quite an inexplicable feeling, we stopped in front of a certain door.
「Then, please wait here.」
Perhaps relieved that he had finished this task, the young man said those words with a smile and hurriedly left.
「…He ran away.」
「Taiki-sama’s power was too much for him after all…」
「That’s absolutely not the case.」
Denying Yuri’s speculations with a smile I opened the door, which revealed a spacious room that resembled a parlor. Made in compatible warm colors, the room had a comfortable feel to it, but the furniture clearly was of a luxurious type.
「Oh, a leather couch.」
In the farthest part of the room stood a leather armchair for one person’s use. Seeing it I couldn’t hold back from sitting on it. A soft seat, the back is gently supporting the body, the elbow support, on which I promptly put both hands, was in a perfect position, as if the whole thing was custom made.
「Ah, this is good.」
Such words naturally rushed out of my mouth.
I felt like the chair wrapped around me, a sensation that I didn’t experience before.
「Certainly, that chair seems to be better made than any other article in here. To notice it right away, as expected of Taiki-sama.」
「It really suits you.」
Flattered by Ayla and Yuri I got a bit carried away and sitting back on the chair folded my arms, putting on airs.
I thought about saying something king-like, but being embarrassed, I decided to keep my mouth shut after all.
And, at that moment, Rabia and Diego showed up as the doors to the room opened from the outside.
Behind them stood a smiling middle-aged man with a somewhat small build.
「Taiki-sama, we brought Sieg, the manager of the head office.」
Rabia said upon entering the room, then, for some reason, kneeled. Diego also did the same without saying a word, as if they agreed on this beforehand.
While I was taken aback by that sight, the man, whom they called Sieg, that stood behind them, took a step forward and made a deep bow.
「……Nice to meet you. My name is Sieg.」
「Ah, tha-that’s very formal of you……」
Completely missing the timing to get out of the chair I responded to them, being polite in the tone only.
