Heavenly Lord Asura - Chapter 49
Chapter 49: Instant Death
Zhao He was ready to lose everything.
“Well. Very well!” Han Tian could not be more furious. His body shuddered as the vital energy of essence ballooned. But this was not Power of Metal or Power of Earth but Power of Wood.
Power of Wood had a healing effect. It was not as fearsome as Power of Light, but it was still not half bad.
The blood and energy quickly recovered, so too the wound on his back. Even the one in his chest was rapidly healing.
“Power of Wood.”
Zhao He’s jaw dropped to the ground. Even Huoshi was stunned. Han Tian already possessed Powers of Earth and Metal; one inflicted maximum damage, the other with maximum defensibility. Little did they expect that Han Tian also possessed Power of Wood, an ability with powerful healing effects. That meant he was a triple being.
Even a single elemental being was in Redsun Mountains; double being was even rarer than that. Let alone triple being.
This was not something that talent alone could explain. Such a person, wherever he went, surely attracted attention and was sought after. All sects would compete to recruit such a talent.
“Not only that. He was a Wind Being. No wonder he could become a direct disciple of the clan master.” Not far away, Zhao Kuang mumbled. He was not sure if his father’s decision was right this time.
“Caw, caw!” Little Tian was not too happy. As it approached, it struck Huoshi with its claws.
No one dared to belittle him. Elder Wu was a classical example. Huoshi shifted his body in a flash, dodging the attack. Little Tian spun around in the air, its mouth open, revealing its terrifying fangs.
Huoshi cried out in pain as Little Tian had bitten a large chunk of flesh off his back. The wound was so bad that his bones were exposed. He was bleeding profusely, and the blood was black.
Not only his essence had been demonized but also his blood. The Spirit-Devouring Demonic Manual was evil.
“Go help Wutian, Little Thing. I will deal with him.”
Han Tian’s body shuddered, and Power of Wood disappeared. He was standing on air with an evil smile on his lips. Power of Wind was under his feet with wind howling around him and his hair fluttering. He looked like a matchless demon.
“Use everything you have got. Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance.” He looked at Zhao Kuang standing not far away.
He sniffed at everyone else, extremely arrogant. He wanted to fight the three of them.
Little Tian was not too happy, though. It waved its claw, basically meaning, “I don’t care if you want to show off. But if something happens to Shishi, I will kill you myself.”
It then faded into a silverish light. It was going to the battlefield to join hands with Wutian to take on the burly man again. Ancient trees fell, the earth cracked, mountains tumbled; the place looked like a doomsday scene.
Zhao Kuang sighed softly, knowing that something was inevitable. He stepped out, his movement swift, as if walking on air. He came below Han Tian, and together with Huoshi and Zhao He, they surrounded Han Tian.
“You seem to be pretty smart, eh! Mark my word; if the Yan Clan dares to do anything to the Zhaos, you will have the support of the Fire Cloud Clan,” said Huoshi.
Zhao Kuang sneered quietly without showing it on his face. “I appreciate that, Brother Huoshi,” said Zhang Kuang, cupping his hands.
Zhao He said nothing. He had seen enough and was wise enough to know that if they were to believe in what Huoshi said, disaster would fall upon them.
Han Tian broke out in laughter and swept his eyes over the three. “You really think you all are going to win? You had your chance to redeem yourself, Zhao He, Zhao Kuang. Since you did not seize the opportunity, I will have to do what I have to do.”
Huoshi’s eyes looked like a pair of black holes with black flames dancing inside. “Will Yan Clan Master grieve over your death if I kill you, Han Tian?”
“Only if you can do that.” Han Tian sneered and made his move. Since Zhao Kuang was the weakest link among the three, he would kill him first as a warning to others.
Power of Wind howled under his feet. Combined with Power of Metal, a brilliant light burst out, shaking the entire mountain and sending rocks flying.
Zhao Kuang looked serious. As he smacked his Mustard Pouch with his hand, a spear appeared with a loud clunk. At eight-foot long, the spear glinted menacingly. It was a bone spear, made of the spine of a Spur Beast. It was as tough as the iron rock and extremely sharp.
This weapon was filled with a murderous air, as if a demonic beast was being imprisoned inside.
As the young master of the Zhao family, it was only natural for Zhao Kuang to have such a vicious weapon.
Holding the bone spear in his hand, he stepped on the cliff and the cliff exploded. Like a demon, he seemed to be unstoppable. Even the dimension had cracked open.
Han Tian’s eyes lit up and saw that the bone spear was no ordinary spear. With the flick of his hand, he shot out a golden light. The bone spear clunked and vibrated as the golden light hit it. He was no match for Wutian in terms of physical strength, but he was not far behind when aided by Power of Earth.
Zhao Kuang’s arm shivered, his thenar webspace bleeding, and he nearly lost grip of the bone spear.
Another clunk came and the bone spear flew out of his hand. Han Tian lunged forward to catch the bone spear in his hand, then inject his essence into it. The bone spear seemed to have come to live as a hideous demonic beast, body covered in spurs, lunged out from within.
Back then, when Zhao Kuang made this bone spear, he had sealed the demonic soul of the spur beast inside. Now Han Tian released it. The beast stood at thirty-foot-tall, its entire body composed of bones, extremely hideous.
“This thing will go to waste in your hand.”
Performing a backhand stab, Han Tian struck at Zhao Kuang. The demonic soul roared, blinding light burst out, and blood spurted as if a fountain as the bone spear penetrated his back.
Zhao Kuang cried out in pain, his face contorting. The bone spear pierced right into his heart. He could even hear the tearing of his heart tissue, his consciousness fading, and he could hear the call of the Grim Reaper.
“Kuang…” Zhao He roared furiously and lunged toward Zhao Kuang.
Han Tian showed no mercy. He clenched the bone spear and gave it a violent twist. The bone spear penetrated Zhao Kuang’s heart, carrying with it a large chunk of flesh.
Blood spurted out of Zhao Kuang’s mouth non-stop. His pupils started to dilate. In his fading vision, he saw a shadow lunging up to him, the blurry face filled with sadness and a cry of sorrow drifting into his ear.
“I was wrong, Father. Zhao’s family is finished…” He grieved for his family, as if he was seeing them heading toward destruction, his family members lying in pools of blood. His eyes slowly closed as he died with regrets and indignation.
Han Tian had no expression on his face. As he twisted his arm, Zhao Kuang’s chest broke apart, flesh and blood burst out of him, leaving behind a large through-and-through wound in his body.
Han Tian was too powerful for Zhao Kuang, who was only a Gamma-stage cultivator. He was no match for Han Tian.
“Kuang, my son!” Zhao He cried, hugging the body of his son and landing in a deep hole in the cliff. His arms shivered, losing himself in the sorrow. He instantly looked decades older, like a dying old man.
“Are we wrong?” He mumbled, then suddenly looked up at the sky. “Why treat us the Zhaos like this, oh, Heaven? The Fire Cloud Clan, the Yan Clan! I will make you all pay, blood for blood—”
His voice stopped abruptly. A bone spear pierced through his skill, his brain splashing out. His body dropped to the ground before falling off the cliff into the sea of lava down below. His body caught fire, going up in smoke and turning into a skeleton.
“I wanted to spare your lives, but you guys did not appreciate it.” Han Tian let out an evil smile while blood was still dripping from the bone spear. He looked like a demon, killing the two persons with no mercy.
Everything happened in just a split second—too fast for Huoshi to save them.
Huoshi’s heart skipped a beat, cold sweat trickling down his forehead. Zhao He and Zhao Kuang had been working for the clan for years, at least they deserved some credits for their efforts. But they were just killed summarily. It seemed that Han Tian was no less ruthless than him.
“All traitors deserve death. Don’t you think so?” Han Tian was nonchalant, his voice devoid of emotion. “What I do is pale compared to your cannibalism. Oh, by the way, what the Fire Cloud Clan will do if things about the Spirit-Devouring Demonic Manual were leaked out?”
Huoshi was startled, but he quickly calmed down. There seemed to be a magical power in his eyes; they seemed they could pull people’s mind into them. “It looks like you and Wutian are quite close, eh? If I kill you, will he be as sad as when I slaughtered the entire Dragon Village and his grandpa died in the fire back then?”
“So it turns out there are such horrible grudges between you two. No wonder every time Wutian saw you, he would grit his teeth and his face nearly turned green.”
Han Tian tossed his hair and continued. “Let’s say if you kill me, I think, that son of a bitch Wutian would not even bat an eyelid. Oh, yeah, don’t forget that he isn’t done with me yet for knocking him out last time. I am afraid he is going to make my life very difficult from now on.”
“He is a disciple of the Yan Clan?”
“You must have been mistaken. We are not even friends, mind you. There is only cooperation between us. You may ask what cooperation it is. Let me tell ya; I am helping him to kill you, and he is also helping me to kill you. Don’t you know that you are in real deep shit? As if poking at the Son of Heaven isn’t enough, you have made a handsome man like me your enemy. You must have a death wish!”
“Why still talk shit with him? Make it quick!” Wutian got impatient and furious. He was covered in blood. While he had fought until he dropped, this guy still had the mood in making a mockery of his enemy.
Han Tian snickered. “See that? He is so mean and ugly while I am sunshine and good-looking. How could we become friends—”
Before his voice trailed off, he suddenly struck. The bone spear flew out of his hand and pierced through the air like the sword of the Grim Reaper.
At the same time, he stepped on air and the space under his feet cracked like a piece of mirror with grayish air rushing out. Aided by Power of Wind, his movement was so quick that he was trailing behind the bone spear.
Huoshi was as ruthless as he was cautious. He did not let down his guard even a bit while Han Tian spoke. He struck out his like a blade, black light shooting out and melting the rock beneath him.
The mountain peak tilted and was about to collapse. Han Tian was stunned and gave up the
As those people in the cave were the future disciples of the Yan Clan, they must be protected. Most importantly, Shishi was still inside. If the mountain crumpled, Wutian was going to kill him.
“You little punk, come with me and we will fight for a thousand rounds!” Han Tian cried. But Huoshi was not so easily provoked.
He knew what Han Tian was thinking. No way he would want to grant him the wish. He spun around and flew toward the cave at once.
“Damn it!” Han Tian cursed. With the help of Power of Wind, he flew up in the air.
He could fly like a bird using Power of Wind. His speed was a lot quicker than Huoshi’s. In just the blink of an eye, he went ahead of Huoshi, blocked his way, and struck out the bone spear. He was careful not to hit the mountain peak.
