Chapter 40: I Hate Eggs
Ji Anan’s delicate porcelain hands signified her privileged upbringing.
For the past three years, she had endured many hardships and subsequently lost her former snootiness…
She had once been the well-loved Su Qianmo, someone that Gu Nancheng cherished with all his heart.
She put the noodles in the pot and took off her gloves. She was unwilling to succumb to life’s hardships and resign herself to defeat.
The next time she encountered Gu Nancheng, she wanted to be in her most graceful and elegant state. She wanted to appear like that same prideful princess she once was and be someone that was qualified enough to stand by him and shine in her own right! This was the motivation that kept her going!
She walked out of the kitchen with the plate in her hand. In her bedroom, she found Beiming Shaoxi looking at a picture frame in his hand.
“Do you have ADHD or Alzheimer’s disease? Why can’t you just obediently stay put and wait for me to feed you?” Ji Anan was displeased. She wondered why he had entered her room, let alone touch her things without her permission.
Beiming Shaoxi’s piercing blue eyes looked over sharply.
Feed him? Was he a monkey in a zoo?
Ji Anan suddenly snapped back to attention and put a smile on her face. “I haven’t wiped that picture frame in a very long time. I was simply afraid that your hands would get dirty…”
He was silent.
“Let’s go to the dining room. Breakfast is ready.”
As Ji Anan was placing the food on the table, the door suddenly opened. Ji Xinxin and Shi Zihan walked in hand in hand.
Ji Anan felt goosebumps rise on her body when she heard them speaking.
“You’re here.” Ji Xinxin sneered. “My dad is in jail because of you, yet you have the leisure to cook at home?”
Ji Anan’s expression turned cold, and she replied vehemently, “You’re the one that’s disgusting all the way to the core.”
“You’re the one that’s disgusting. This is my home! I can kick you out anytime…” She paused, then put her hand to her stomach. “Zihan, I hate eggs. I can’t stand that smell. Go throw that in the trash.”
Shi Zihan was caught off guard.
“What are you still standing there for?”
Shi Zihan walked over hesitantly and threw the newly made breakfast into the trash can right before her eyes.
Ji Anan didn’t have a chance to save the food, so she threw a cup at them instead. “Every time I think you couldn’t possibly stoop any lower, you never fail to amaze me by stooping even lower!”
Those two despicable beings deserved each other!
“Why don’t you find yourself a significant other that will protect you like mine does.” Ji Xinxin thrust out her hands to show off the diamond ring on her finger. “Zihan proposed to me. How about you? All you’re capable of is becoming a dirty old man’s mistress.”
Ji Anan clenched her fists and was about to fight back when the sound of crisp footsteps approached them.
Beiming Shaoxi appeared in a dark grayish-blue suit. Broad-shouldered and muscular, he appeared as exceptionally handsome as always.
Like a king that had emerged from a dark abyss, his entire being exuded the noble aura of an aristocrat.
Ji Xinxin instantly felt her breath taken away.
Both were men, yet Beiming Shaoxi outrivaled Shi Zihan in height, appearance, and aura. He was the complete package.
Shi Zihan instantly sensed how tiny and insignificant he was in comparison.
Paying no attention to them, Beiming Shaoxi had an indifferent expression on his face as he walked in front of Ji Anan—
Yet when he looked at her, his eyes were full of loving affection.
“Wife, breakfast still isn’t ready yet?”
Ji Anan was caught off guard—was he trying to give her a way out?
Ji Xinxin couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “You’re married? When? Don’t tell me that this man is someone you hired to deceive me? You don’t even have a ring!”
Beiming Shaoxi took out a velvet ring box, the one with the lavish, gleaming egg of a diamond.
He took Ji Anan’s hand and placed the ring on her finger.
Ji Xinxin felt her chest tighten and found it difficult to breath. It was such a large diamond that even the lowest quality one would have cost hundreds of thousands on the market.
