He’s As Dazzling As The Stars - Chapter 46
Chapter 46: A Man Who is Not Gentle
Bai Yeqing coldly harrumphed and gave a harsh glare at her stubborn look. “When I can touch or not, I have already touched it. Isn’t it too late to say all these?”
It would be fine if he did not say anything but once he said that, all the more she became furious and defiant of him. “Stinky hooligan!”
When she remembered how he had bullied her that one particular day, the more she was not willing to submit. She even gathered her courage to scold him.
Bai Yeqing’s handsome face was gloomy and he ignored her. But then, he took a step forward and then enveloped her waist with his long arm.
With a spin, Xia Xingchen screamed in fright when her body was hoisted upon his shoulders.
This bastard!
The wound on his body had not fully recovered yet, so how could he be able to carry her?
No! What was she thinking? She should be worried about herself!
She gritted her teeth and clenched her hands into a fist before hitting him. “Bai Yeqing put me down! Even if my legs break from walking too much, I will not sit in your car!”
“Try and move one more time!” He gritted his teeth.
“I’m still going to move, so what are you going to do to about it? What are you going to do?” She provocatively swayed her hips and hit him. But since he had a well-built frame, all her punches could be likened to an embroidery pillow hitting a stone. Her punches didn’t feel a thing to him although her hand had already turned red from her continuous assault.
By then, Bai Yeqing was already frustrated with how she acted and ‘bam—’ he had slapped her pretty arm.
“You… you are taking the liberty of me again!” Xia Xingchen flew into a rage out of humiliation.
“If you continue making a ruckus, I will let you see what it really means to take the liberty of you!” Bai Yeqing harshly gritted his teeth.
With those words, the woman on his shoulders suddenly became docile. Her whole body stiffened up and she did not even dare to breathe heavily. When they were in the washroom that day, she had scolded him for his frivolous actions and in the end…
He did punish her!
Xia Xingchen feared she might end up the way it did last time.
She gritted her teeth as she was carried on his shoulders. Not knowing if it was because of her dizziness or aggrievance, her nose started to turn sour.
Bai Yeqing threw her in the car and clasped the safety belt for her.
He coldly raised his eyes and met her gaze. Tears had already brimmed in her eyes and that somehow startled him and made him unconsciously furrow his eyebrow.
But she sniffed and stubbornly moved her head away and directed her gaze outside of the window. She tried her best to pretend that she was calm.
“What are you crying for?” he asked.
“None of your business!”
Bai Yeqing scoffed and did not care about her. He closed the car down and moved to the driver’s seat. After this, he stepped on the accelerator and drove the car forward.
Throughout the journey, his gaze unknowingly moved towards his side.
Damn it!
At the side, this stubborn woman’s tears actually flowed down even more.
He felt frustrated. He did not know why. Maybe her crying look was too ugly.
But clearly… that crying face looked… very pitiful…
He casually took a tissue and passed it to her. “Stop crying! It’s ugly!”
Although his tone was fierce, the gaze he gave to her was laced with a strange emotion that even he did not notice.
Xia Xingchen was still angry and did not notice.
This man!
He is so bad! He doesn’t even know how to be gentle when passing a tissue!
She indignantly snatched the tissue over and choked with sobs. “If I knew you were this despicable, I shouldn’t have taken care of you when you were hurt…”
He furrowed his brows and glanced sideways at her. “How much aggrievance have you suffered?”
“Aren’t I pitiful?” Xia Xingchen glared at him with puffy red eyes. “You wanted me to bear you a child, hence I had to give birth a child for you despite being scolded by others. You wanted to bully me so you… just bullied me. Now, you wanted me to sit in your car, and so I did. The next moment, you didn’t want me to sit in your car so you shouted at me.”
The more she said her sentiments, the more aggrieved she felt. Her voice quivered as she sobbed. “What do you take me for? I’m a person, not your pet…”
Pet?
Bai Yeqing scoffed. “If I had a dumb and disobedient pet like you, I would have made it into a soup ages ago!”
“…” This rascal!
She had not realized he was this bad!
Xia Xingchen wanted to say something but Bai Yeqing suddenly spoke up. “When I shouted at you, I didn’t mean to not let you sit in my car.”
His voice became deeper in a moment.
“Stop pretending. I have already seen through your acts.”
“That is why I said you are dumb.”
“…” Xia Xingchen was depressed. She took a deep breath and calmed herself down before asking, “Okay, then tell me, if you didn’t mean to not let me sit in your car, then what are you shouting for?”
“Isn’t it all because of you, this dumb woman…”
He had spoken most of what he wanted but then stopped. As he tilted his head and met her gaze, a hint of uneasiness slid past his face so he did not continue his words.
Xia Xingchen asked, “Because I’m what?”
“…” He kept mum.
“Say it.”
“Aren’t you frustrating?” Bai Yeqing impolitely said.
“I knew you were going to continue lying,” she said and pulled a face that screamed ‘I knew he was lying.’
Bai Yeqing could not stand it anymore. “I shouted at you because you used your body to stop my car! Do you know that if I really stepped on the accelerator, you would have lost your life!”
As he thought about that dangerous scene which she was not aware of, he became even furious. He tilted his head to the side and gave her a harsh glare. “You are really dumb!”
“…” His shout had startled Xia Xingchen that even after a while, she still hadn’t snapped back to her senses.
If that was the case… then, she had mistaken him and was angry for nothing?
After a long while, she silently wiped away her tears and obediently retracted the glare she gave him.
Eh? It was very strange. When he scolded her for being dumb, she did not feel angry at all. Even the fury and aggrievance that she kept in her heart strangely disappeared.
The two of them retracted their sharp gazes and calmed themselves down at that moment.
But none of them spoke up.
The atmosphere in the car became a little awkward. He calmly drove the car and Xia Xingchen moved her gaze towards the window.
…
It was already very late when they returned to the President’s Manor.
In the manor, the remaining maids welcomed them at the entrance. Bai Yeqing got down the car and ordered them to rest to which the row of people proceeded to do so.
Since Xia Xingchen missed her child, she could not be concerned with packing up. She proceeded to change her shoes and immediately rushed up the stairs.
Bai Yeqing followed her.
“He is already asleep.” When the children’s room was opened to reveal a small gap, Bai Yeqing reminded her at the side.
“What happened to him?”
“A cold,” Bai Yeqing casually said.
“Does he have a fever? Cough? Did he see a doctor? Every time he caught a cold, his throat would have inflammation…”
Bai Yeqing could not bear to see her worried look. “Okay, Doctor Fu had already given him a check-up. He said he would be fine tomorrow after a night’s sleep.”
“He really said that?”
“Hmm.”
“That’s good.” Only then did Xia Xingchen become relieved. “I will go in and take a look.”
After she said her piece, she sneaked in. The lights were not turned on and so, she could only use the moonlight from the window to guide her to the bed.
