Chapter 24: Reinforcements, Paladins, Laite·Bellman
The group of frightened paladins sat dumbly on the floor in fear.
A few of them adjusted their sitting posture and began to use recovery magic to recover themselves.
There were also a few guards who had already been scared out of their wits. All that was left was an empty shell.
Clang!!!
Clang!!!
Clang!!!
The attacks of the werewolf leader and his ten subordinates didn’t stop at all.
The continuous attacks made the paladins who were trying to recover feel weak in their knees.
“How is it?!”
“You stinky wolves!”
“You can’t break in, right? Ah?!!”
The commander shouted at the 11 werewolves outside the circle of light.
The werewolf leader stood outside the circle of light in front of the commander and didn’t say a word. He was breathing heavily.
It was only staring at the barrier of light and thinking about something.
Suddenly…
The werewolf leader raised his right hand.
Then, he swiped towards the Light Barrier.
At that moment, there was a loud bang.
A hole was pierced in the light barrier where the werewolf leader had attacked.
Then, cracks began to appear from the hole.
“Clang!”
“Shua shua shua shua shua!!!”
The barrier of light began to crumble.
The shattered pieces from the original barrier of light began to fall to the ground.
The broken light barrier that fell to the ground turned into light after about one second and fused back into nature.
“This!”
“How is this possible?!!”
The spell that the commander was so proud of, the Light Barrier, had been shattered.
Furthermore, it had been shattered with a single strike.
The commander fell to the ground in shock.
He supported himself on the ground with one hand and repeatedly waved at the werewolf leader with the other, while screaming without heed.
“Don’t come over!”
“You! Don’t come over!”
“Go away! Go away!”
He continuously screamed as he crawled backwards.
While scrambling, he would occasionally grab the soil on the ground and throw it at the werewolf leader.
The werewolf leader stood still.
He watched silently as the commander crawled backward and threw mud at him.
However, the werewolf leader didn’t do anything even when he saw the desperation in the commander’s expression. He merely watched quietly.
It was only when the commander was about to crawl out of the bar did the werewolf leader launch an attack at him.
Bang!
A sudden loud noise made the werewolf leader stop.
A heavy sword was stabbed into the ground one meter behind the commander.
The sword was almost 1.5 meters long, but no one knew just how much more was buried underground.
The greatsword screamed of power and ferocity.
Even the werewolf leader felt danger emanating from it.
“Look!”
“It’s Paladin Laite·Bellman!”
“Wow~”
“It’s really him!!”
“So handsome!!!”
“I wonder if he has a girlfriend?!”
“I wonder if I have the chance to get to know him?!”
“What are you thinking about?!!”
“Wake up, stop dreaming.”
……
One could hear many women discussing him outside.
They seemed to be discussing this Paladin named Laite·Bellman.
The werewolf looked toward the door.
What caught his eye was a hole slightly three meters above the door that was originally not present.
The large sword on the ground seemed to fit the hole that was created.
“It seems like the sword on the ground flew over from outside the bar.”
The werewolf leader thought to himself.
Then…
The werewolf looked in the direction where the hole was formed.
Outside the cave, a Paladin was slowly descending from the sky.
“Sir Laite!”
“Sir Laite!”
“I love you!”
Laite·Bellman’s little fans shouted wildly.
As Laite·Bellman drew closer to the ground, the sense of danger the werewolf leader felt only intensified.
After all, werewolves weren’t invincible.
The current werewolf leader was merely a dried corpse that Harlen had used blood magic to resurrect.
Although the overall attack power was superior to the Knights in general, it was still a little difficult for them to face off against an actual Paladin.
“Shoosh~”
The instant Laite·Bellman landed on the ground.
A gust of wind blew outwards in a ring from his feet.
Laite·Bellman slowly walked into the bar, before waving his hand.
A warm green glow was instantly cast over the frightened Knight Guards.
The green light enveloped them for about 20 seconds before dissipating.
“Ah!”
“It’s Sir Laite.”
“Sir Laite has come to save us.”
The guards who were healed by the green light regained their mobility and consciousness. Their legs were strong and no longer weak.
“All of you, back down!”
Laite·Bellman commanded.
When the soldiers heard that, everyone bowed to Laite·Bellman before leaving the tavern.
Harlen however hadn’t been taken out, as if everyone had completely forgotten about him.
However, Harlen’s injuries and spirit had been healed by the Medical Knight.
Laite·Bellman walked over to the large sword that was deeply embedded in the ground.
He held the sword handle and pulled it out without any effort.
Then, he held the large sword and pointed its tip toward the werewolf leader.
“If you obediently follow me back to receive your punishment…”
“I can spare you the death penalty.”
“If you refuse!!!”
“Then I can only get rid of you now.”
Laite·Bellman spoke to the werewolf leader without any change in his expression.
It was as if the werewolf leader and the ten underlings behind him were nothing.
When the werewolf leader heard what Laite·Bellman said, he burst into laughter.
“That’s ridiculous.”
“Who knows who will get rid of who!!!”
Before he finished his sentence, the werewolf leader attacked Laite·Bellman alone.
Clang!!!
The werewolf leader’s sharp and cold claws struck the large sword in front of Laite·Bellman.
A jarring noise was created from the impact between steel and claw.
The moment the huge sword and the sharp claws clashed, a spark shot out from the intersection of the two.
Then…
A “Hah!” was heard.
Laite·Bellman suddenly swung the greatsword upwards at an extremely fast speed.
Seeing this, the werewolf leader also instantly jumped to the back.
However, he was slower to react than Laite·Bellman.
“Puchi~~”
Just as the werewolf leader jumped back, before his feet touched the ground…
A large wound appeared on his chest.
“Eh… Pfft!”
The werewolf leader clutched the wound on his chest and spat out a mouthful of blood.
Chhhhhtttt~!
After landing on the ground, the werewolf leader grabbed the ground with his claws with all his might to reduce the impact of Laite’s sword swing.
It was only when the soil behind his feet was pushed to a height of 20 centimeters that he finally stopped moving backwards..
