Chapter 27: Laite·Bellman’s Sword Slash
Recalling what had just happened, Harlen saw the entire process clearly.
The deafening explosion started from inside the tornado.
It was the explosion caused by Paladin Laite·Bellman.
It was precisely that explosive wave of air that Laite created that resulted in the werewolf leader being sent flying from the ground to the ceiling while vomiting blood.
At that time, Laite·Bellman had only placed his palms on the handle of the large sword in front of him.
Then, he stood in the tornado expressionlessly, allowing the strong wind to blow his extremely tough cloak randomly in the air.
After about three seconds…
A beam of white light that far exceeded the holy light magic used by the captain of the knight guards instantly emitted from the sword positioned in front of him.
The moment the white light hit the gray tornado, it was as if the water and fire elements were incompatible. The white light and the gray tornado were locked in a stalemate for 0.01 seconds.
Soon after, the grey tornado was suppressed by the white light without any suspense. As a result, it triggered a huge explosion due to repulsion, sending the werewolf leader flying and severely injuring him.
Laite·Bellman took his time walking toward the fallen werewolf leader.
The armor pieces on his body let out clanging sounds occasionally with his steps.
At this moment, the werewolf leader’s entire body was sunk into the ground. The ground beneath him had already been dyed red by the blood flowing from his chest.
Also, there were many broken glass shards on his back and face.
The werewolf leader was sprawled on the ground in a sorry state, reduced to only being able to spit out blood.
Even though he was covered in wounds, the werewolf leader wasn’t afraid. It was still using its red eyes to glare at the Paladin who was walking towards it.
Clang!!!
The sound of armor clashing stopped in front of Wolf Head, who was lying on the ground.
Laite·Bellman was now standing right in front of him.
The eyes of the alpha wolf looked up slightly and saw the reflection of himself on the reflective protective gear of Laite·Bellman’s feet.
The werewolf leader wanted to continue looking up, but he had already reached the limit of his peripheral vision. He could only see up to where Laite·Bellman’s chest armor was, but not his face.
Although the alpha wolf couldn’t see the face of Laite·Bellman, who was looking down at him from above, but he could clearly sense it.
That bone-chilling cold that was caused by Laite·Bellman staring with his cold eyes.
It was like having a naked body falling into the vast ice ocean. It was so cold that it seemed to make one’s blood in one’s body freeze as well as organs fail, making one lose all feeling.
The werewolf leader, who was lying on the ground, shivered under Laite·Bellman’s gaze.
Its body, which was originally embedded with several glass shards, could not move even a little because of the pain.
But now, under the cold stare from Laite·Bellman, his body began to tremble.
“It’s time to end this!”
A cold voice sounded above the wolf’s head.
The werewolf leader wanted to look up, but he realized that he couldn’t.
It realized that its neck had been completely broken by the shockwave from the explosion.
As for why the werewolf leader didn’t die after breaking his neck, that was because he was originally a corpse that Harlen had resurrected at the last minute.
Unless they were reduced to ashes, they could only wait for the blood in the werewolf’s body to finish flowing or for Harlen to let them die.
Thus, the act of breaking necks and breaking bones would not cause their death.
Suddenly, a dazzling light flashed across the eyes of the alpha wolf.
The light came from the greatsword in Laite·Bellman’s hand.
The close to two meters long greatsword was raised directly above Laite·Bellman’s own head.
His eyes didn’t look elsewhere. They were still staring coldly at the werewolf leader.
“What is Sir Laite trying to do?”
“Is Sir Laite trying to split that werewolf in half?”
“This seems a little cruel!”
“It would be better to turn that werewolf into ashes than split him into two.”
“Is Sir Laite really going to kill it?!”
“This doesn’t seem like his way of doing things!”
A few passersby looked in from the large hole in the wall and saw that Sir Laite was holding his sword as if he wanted to kill the werewolf leader. They began to discuss again.
However, what Laite·Bellman next did was exactly what the passersby were discussing. He really intended to crack open the werewolf leader.
Laite·Bellman swung the heavy sword down.
The greatsword moved quickly from top to bottom, releasing a loud sound of wind breaking in the air.
The passersby outside the house were shocked by what Sir Laite was doing.
This did not seem like how Sir Laite would usually act.
Just as the passers-by were exclaiming in surprise…
In the room, the greatsword slammed heavily onto the ground.
The moment it smashed into the ground, a powerful gust of wind began to blow in all directions.
That powerful wind pressure washed away the surrounding gravel and bricks.
It swept away the broken wood around them.
The powerful wind blew against the rubble and bricks, breaking the wooden tables further and throwing them against the surrounding walls.
They made loud cracking noises akin to fireworks upon making contact with the walls.
The already tattered wall now had a few more holes added to it.
Some small objects were even blown out of the hole in the wall.
Meanwhile, the passersby who were hiding behind the holes to watch the battle were smashed by these tiny objects.
A few passers-by were hit until their heads were bleeding, a few were blinded, while others were lucky and only had a few scratches.
As the greatsword struck the ground, a powerful impact burst out at the same time.
With it as the epicenter, the surrounding surface of the ground instantly exploded. Cracks the size of an adult’s foot began to spread in all directions until they reached the streets.
What followed was the soil and sand spewing out from the cracks like a fountain.
“Ouch, aiyayayaya…”
“Ah ~ ~ I’ll jump, I’ll jump, I’ll jump. Look at my elegant movement technique, the crack can’t keep up with my speed…”Aiya!”
“Eh! You fell too hard!”
“Everyone, pay attention to your feet. Be careful not to get tripped. Don’t find trouble to challenge the speed at which the cracks spread!”
“Watch the crack. Watch the kids as well, make sure they don’t fall into the crack.”
“Hmph! I am the cement dance king of the village. How can I be tripped by such a crack! Look at my gorgeous steps…”
The cracks spread instantly throughout the streets, causing manye passers-by to be unable to react in time.
Most of the passers-by tripped and fell to the ground.
Only a small group of people avoided the crack. This small group of people directed the others to a safe area.
Of course, there was also a group of extremely confident people who wanted to challenge the speed at which the crack spread.
One of the challengers failed. Not only did he knock out several teeth, but he also cut his head open.
There was one more person who was just about to challenge the crack with his magnificent steps when he was suddenly washed by the spewing soil and fine sand. The impact instantly sent the ‘Dancing King’ into the sky before he fell heavily to the ground.
Moral of story: Don’t cause trouble in the face of disaster.
This is a valuable lesson learned from these two losers.
The two of them would remember this forever..
