Chapter 30: Laite·Bellman Adds An Additional Five Minutes
“Ugh!”
“Cough, cough, cough!!”
The six werewolves that were lying in a pool of blood on the ground spat out the mouthful of blood that was stuck in their lungs. Then, they placed their hands on the large wound on their stomachs, enduring the pain caused by the coughing.
Clang!!!
Clang!!!
Clang!!!
The sound made by the heavy armor reverberated through the room filled with the scent of blood, echoing in the ears of all present.
Sha sha sha!
The only other sound was that of gravel and wood falling from the ceiling.
As the gravel and wood continued to fall, it finally could no longer support the weight of the three werewolves that were pinned to the ceiling, and it shattered, causing the trio to fall on the ground.
Following the collapse of the roof, the six wolves that were lying in a pool of blood and the three wolves that had just fallen from the ceiling were buried by the broken soil, wood, and bricks that poured down from the ceiling.
Instantly, the place was filled with a cloud of dust and dirt.
There was a steady stream of objects pouring down from the ceiling. The impact from their landing only served to blow the dust and dirt in the air towards the surrounding walls.
And the only area of escape for all that dust was through the hole in the wall.
“Ahhh!”
“My eyes!”
Some of the passers-by were still trying to discover what had happened in that split second. Just as they were about to turn around and continue to observe the situation in the house, they felt a sharp pain in their eyes from the sudden mix of gravel, wood, and dust.
The ceiling in the house was still cracking. Soil, wood, and bricks continued to fall.
The dirt, wood, and bricks on the ground had now accumulated to a height of one meter, burying the nine wolves deep below.
Laite·Bellman ignored the nine wolves buried under the gravel. He didn’t even spare them a glance.
After killing the nine in an instant, he walked straight towards the leader lying on the ground.
“Sir Laite had probably attacked at that moment.”
“No one but Sir Laite could inflict such grievous wounds on those wolves.”
“Although that group of werewolves are powerful, almost able to fight to a draw with some Gold Grade Paladins in the Paladin Squad…”
“Unfortunately, their opponent is the Kingdom’s Paladin, Sir Laite·Bellman.”
“This can only be considered their misfortune.”
“Sir Laite is not even looking at those buried under the ground as he walks straight toward their leader. It looks like the battle is about to end.”
“You’re wrong. How is this a battle? This is clearly an entertainment activity during his rest time. Can’t you see that the armor on Sir Laite’s body is still spotless from the start until now, still shining and reflecting light?”
“Yeah… you’re right about that.”
Seeing that the battle was finally about to end, the discussions among the passersby gradually lessened, and they became more focused on watching the final scene.
Laite·Bellman walked to the alpha wolf who was lying on the ground, unable to move. He lowered his head as he stared at the werewolf.
This time, however, he didn’t look down with a cold gaze. He kept his head down and simply stared at him, even though his face still remained expressionless.
Laite·Bellman looked at the leader before raising his left hand to look at his arm. He had set a small circle of light that was constantly disappearing. Then, he lowered his left hand and spoke.
“I still have five minutes to spend with you.”
“After these five minutes, you’ll be asleep forever.”
With that said, he picked up his sword with one hand and used the flat side to lightly tap on the back of the immobile werewolf.
An orange light enveloped the alpha wolf’s body.
When that happened, the leader felt that his body had become extremely warm. The aura that had caused him to tremble from the cold had completely disappeared.
As the orange light enveloped his body, the wounds on the werewolf leader’s body, as well as his broken neck, began to slowly heal.
The broken glass that pierced its back was enveloped by the orange light and gradually turned into points of light that merged into the orange glow.
“Haa~”
The werewolf leader took a deep breath and felt his body relax.
Moments later, he realized that Laite·Bellman was not trying to end his life, but to treat his injuries.
He also found that his neck could move once again and his body was no longer in pain. Only then did he slowly stand up.
Anyway, his attack was meaningless in front of Laite·Bellman, thus he decided to stand up normally.
“What are you trying to do?”
The werewolf leader, who had stood up, looked at Laite·Bellman with his big red eyes in confusion.
“Nothing. I just have five minutes to spend with you.”
“I want you to accompany me for the next five minutes.”
“In five minutes, I will let you sleep forever.”
The paladin simply replied emotionlessly like a machine.
“What is Sir Laite trying to do?”
“Why did he save that wolf?”
“Why didn’t he choose to kill the werewolf instead?”
“What is he waiting for?”
“The battle could have ended like that, so why did Sir Laite decide to drag it out for five minutes?”
“What is Sir Laite planning to do by waiting another five minutes?”
The passersby outside the wall, who were leaning against the hole in the wall and watching the commotion inside the house, had long wanted to leave. They wanted to see everyone happily disperse after Laite·Bellman finished the job. But now, the latter was creating more trouble for himself. The battle that could have ended had to drag on for another five minutes.
“The child in my house is already wailing from hunger. I need to go back and feed him. Sir Laite, why did you choose to add another five minutes of entertainment time?”
“I almost forgot if you didn’t tell me. I also have to go back to cooking. My wife and children are still waiting to eat my sweet and sour pork ribs. However, I want to finish watching this battle, but my wife is urging me to hurry back. It’s so difficult for me.”
“Hahaha, you guys are really busy. For example, if I don’t have a girlfriend, nothing will happen to me. If I don’t have anything to do, I’ll be free. You guys should go back quickly. Let me record the last five minutes for you guys.”
“Are you proud that you don’t have a girlfriend? You’re almost forty years old. Prepare to die alone!”
The group of passers-by complained one after another. Was Laite trying to whet their appetite?
This made it difficult for those who wanted to leave..
