Charlotte was stunned and removed his hand.
“Theo, you can’t point your finger like that.”
Charlotte looked into the eyes of the saint. Fortunately, she approached them with a friendly smile without any hint of annoyance
“the young master is cute”
“I greet the saint”
Carcel got on his knees politely first, then Charlotte put Theo beside her and did the same.
Theo who was looking at the two sat down and smiled at her. However, unlike the two who had their heads down, he was looking at the saint.
“The three of you, get up.”
The saint said in a deep voice, not looking upset, she put her hand on her chest and bowed slightly.
“I am Teresa,God’s servant.”
Saint Teresa looked at the three slowly. Contrary to her good impression, Charlotte swallowed dry saliva.
She didn’t feel bad. But she was anxious to see Teresa through her thoughts as if she had become an enemy of the god of fate.
She didn’t mind her thoughts being read, but showing her inner self to others wasn’t a good feeling.
‘She probably can’t really read my thoughts though .’
Reading other people’s thoughts, there was a time when I laughed at myself because I thought it was ridiculous.
( I don’t really get it, but I think she thought that the saint can read minds )
Teresa’s gaze, who was looking at Theo and Carcel in turn, turned to Charlotte as if it was natural. At that moment, her eyes widened as if she was surprised.
‘What ?’
But it was only for a short moment. As if nothing had happened, Teresa immediately smiled and corrected her expression.
Charlotte felt strange for a moment but did not ask because Teresa opened her mouth.
“I heard that the gentle young master wants to be blessed.”
Teresa carefully sat in front of Theo. Theo instinctively extended his right hand as if he was possessed, and wrapped her hand around the child’s hand.
Teresa put the back of Theo’s little hand on her forehead and closed her eyes. It was an exhilarating feeling just seeing the meeting of the saint and the innocent child.
Charlotte didn’t particularly believe in god, but she felt a sacred feeling at this moment.
Moments later, Teresa muttered in a tone mixed with sighs.
“It seems that the young master has been through something tragic recently. It’s unfortunate”
The word “unfortunate” was somewhat vague.
For modern Koreans, “You’re nervous these days, aren’t you?” Or when asked, “You don’t look good,” the same answer was given.
What about someone who has come to the temple to be blessed?
So Charlotte couldn’t understand what Teresa really knew about what had happened to Theo, or whether she had said something she normally would.
But only after hearing the following words, Charlotte was able to make sure that she knew something.
“Why did the God of fate give him such fate when he is so young?”
The god of fate. That’s exactly what Charlotte thought before coming here.
But there was something strange. Theresa’s eyes, who raised her eyebrows and whispered as if to sympathize with Theo’s story, were directed at Charlotte, not the person in question.
If she is simply looking for Theo’s guardian, she should look at Carcel, not Charlotte.
“You must have been through a hard time.”
Is it because she said it while looking at Charlotte? Teresa seemed to sympathize with Charlotte, not Theo. This cannot be true.
“But it is not thanks to the god that young master came to me safely. I will pray for the welfare of the young Master and give him my blessing.”
Teresa carefully cupped Theo’s cheeks and moved a little closer to him.
Her lips fell on Theo’s forehead, who was puzzled by not knowing what was going on.
Soon, a faint light leaked out, and the light began to shine around Theo.
It was a group of lights, different from when Charlotte held Carcel’s hand.
It is more comfortable and warm. For example, just looking at him made me feel like I was in my mom’s arms.
Soon, when the light completely disappeared, Theo’s body fell forward.
Theresa, who hugged Theo naturally as if she knew it, explained while looking at Carcel with a resolute expression.
“He is only sleeping a little. Originally, the Blessed makes you sleepy, but young children like him sometimes sleep. He will wake up soon. With God’s protection, bad things will gradually disappear.”
Carcel, whose expression was stiff, suddenly softened.
Charlotte reached out to take Theo, but Teresa gently shook her head and handed the baby over to Carcel.
“You’re Miss Lannia… right?”
“Yes .”
“I would like to give Miss Lannia my blessing, but can we talk together alone for a while?”
Me? Why? Did I not ask that Theo and Carcel be blessed in the first place? Besides, why do I have to go alone? Why don’t you bless me here as you did with Theo?
Some thoughts appeared in Charlotte’s mind.
It was rare for someone to be blessed by a Saint. Of course, it was appropriate to proceed without thinking of one thing or the other when it came to giving blessings.
However, Charlotte did not want to be alone with Teresa for some reason.
In anticipation, I glanced at Carcel, and he nodded in the sense that he was fine.
Charlotte followed Teresa because there was no reason to refuse.
Theresa passed through the white hallway as she did and into a small prayer room.
The moment Charlotte followed her into the room and shut the door, Theresa, who had never looked back, turned around. There was no smile on her face.
Charlotte slipped a little like a mouse into the corner while being chased by a cat.
‘What?’
She said she would give me a blessing, why are you showing that face?
When I thought of opening the door and running away, Teresa suddenly asked her.
“Miss, It was the lady’s idea to bring Confucius here, right?”
Should I say that or not?
I thought about it for a while, but Charlotte decided to speak up honestly. This is because there was no reason to lie here.
“Yes.”
“Why did you do that?”
“Something bad is still happening to Theo. Difficult things a child goes through. I thought he would feel better if he was blessed.”
“Miss.”
Theresa cut her off And asked.
“Did you know that the thread of fate was almost broken?”
“The thread of fate?”
I tried to speak softly, but my voice cracked.
“Yes . The young master has already overcome the crisis of death once. The thread of fate was barely bound and on the verge of breaking. So Confucius must have been in constant danger.”
Charlotte listened to Teresa and realized she was absolutely right. At the same time I wondered.
‘But how did you know I knew?’
It was common to say that bad things kept happening and came to receive blessings.
But why does Theresa only take Charlotte, talking like she knows something?
Theresa said again to Charlotte, who was puzzled.
“I don’t know how you came to know this, but as I told you, it will be fine in the future. I prayed to god, and, in response to the prayer, she almost connected the broken thread again.”
“But why ….”
“What I really want to ask is…”
Teresa lowered her gaze for a moment and stared at Charlotte.
“How is Miss Alive so far?”
How am I alive? If someone had heard this they would have thought how a holy lady could ask such an impudent question.
But Charlotte was different. I knew exactly what Teresa was saying.
Teresa knows that the person in this body is not really Charlotte Lannia.
‘How did you know ?’
No, should I just keep silent, or should I seek advice from the ruler of this world?
In Charlotte’s head, the two thoughts fought fiercely, just as angels and demons faced each other.
After a moment , I decided to first ask what Teresa knew and how much she knew.
If so, I should pretend too.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, what do you mean alive? I ….”
I think you’re saying I should have died.
Teresa was about to say it, but she paused a little and continued.
“You have already died once. To be precise, the soul should already be in god’s arms.”
Charlotte bit her lips in tension. It seemed that Teresa was thinking of something.
Theresa, who was looking at Charlotte’s expressions, added.
“You seem curious how I knew. It’s simple. The thread of Miss Fate has already been cut.”
“…!”
“To be exact, it broke off and then was connected again with a thread of a different color. But this is strange. There is indeed protection from god for sure, but I don’t remember blessing the miss.”
Charlotte couldn’t say anything. There was no way to do that. With her head blank.
I never thought that someone in this world would know who am.
“I have already blessed the young Master thanks to the miss. The fact that he had the miss beside him that god was protecting him, means that the miss changed the fate of the young master.”
