- Chapter 41 - I Accidentally Saved The Male Lead’s Brother Chapter 41
Exactly as he had expected.
Charlotte was holding the candlestick and sticking her head out of the room.
It was bad time that Carcel bit his lips a bit as he looked at his clothes.
Earlier, the leader of Theros committed suicide right in front of him and blood covered his clothes.
The clothes he was wearing now were white, even if the hall was dark if you looked closely you could see blood.
Obviously, it wasn’t something a noble girl like Charlotte should have seen. What if Charlotte shivered from fright?
Originally, he would never have cared for anyone to see him, but unfortunately his opponent was Charlotte.
Just as he didn’t want to touch Theo with his bloody hands, he didn’t want her to see him like that.
Carcel moved quickly and hid in the dark, he was afraid that Charlotte would see him in his clothes.
She was indifferent as she was standing in front of the dim candlelight.
Carcel stared clearly at Charlotte’s smile and their eyes quickly met, then he spoke awkwardly.
“Have you not slept yet ?”
Thinking about it, she would often meet him in the hallway when he came back as if she was waiting for him.
Is there anyone but Theo waiting for him to come back? Thinking about it, it was different now when his deceased mother and father were waiting for him.
“Ah, I lay down to sleep, but I couldn’t, so I have been reading a book for a while.”
Charlotte muttered a few words as an excuse. She had already opened the book but could never read. This was because she kept thinking of Carcel who had gone and blamed herself for his anxiety.
He must have been on the way to find the person who was the cause of these operations, she was sure he would be fine, but she couldn’t get rid of the anxiety.
So when Charlotte heard Carcel’s voice when he arrived, she came out.
‘I don’t know why he’s suddenly avoiding me.’
Charlotte didn’t get close to him and just stood there, I thought he wanted to put some distance between them, so she didn’t get as close to him as he wanted.
“Has the duke just come back?”
“That’s right.”
“Did you find the person who was after Theo?”
“Yes .”
Carcel replied that to reassure her.
“So you don’t have to worry now.”
“I feel better now .”
Charlotte closed her eyes this time and smiled at him.
“I was very worried, but now I’m relieved.”
Carcel could not take his eyes off her and was dissatisfied with her distant appearance.
He wanted to get a little closer.
However, before he could act on his will, Charlotte greeted him first.
“You must be tired. Go in . You need to sleep now.”
Carcel felt deep regret at the same time relieved that she hadn’t seen him.
Charlotte slightly bowed her head as she walked in, and when she entered the light in the corridor had completely disappeared.
Carcel stared at Charlotte’s locked door and slowly walked into his room.
He still had work to do, but he thought he could sleep peacefully today.

The next day, Charlotte went to find Robert on the spot, it was scheduled that today she would go to the Carcel Library.
“This way.”
As if he had been told beforehand, Robert led her down the road.
‘Why the office?’
Charlotte, who followed him in her confused mind, quickly did not understand.
When Robert put the key into the keyhole beside the desk, the bookshelf quickly opened like a door.
Unlike Charlotte who was surprised, Robert pointed to the vast space inside.
“Help yourself . If you need anything just ask me.”
“Yes. Thanks .”
“Shall I bring you refreshments?”
“Yes, just bring me something snacks.”
“Right away.”
Charlotte walked toward the bookshelf, trying to calm her trembling heart. As soon as she entered she saw a large number of books.
As if they had moved into a small library, the reddish-brown bookshelves were lined with white and filled with books.
‘How do I find it?’
Charlotte looked at the bookshelf closest to her with an empty heart. When I read the titles on the back of the book, it was a historical book, not something special.
Empire History. The future of the empire as evidenced by the achievements of Alexander II.
‘Is there something important inside?’
Charlotte moved her feet to the existing bookshelves. But it remained the same with the plethora of things.
In addition, the titles of the books inside this book were not written correctly on the back of the books because they contain secret stories.
Frowning her eyes, Charlotte, who was constantly looking through the bookshelves, suddenly saw a thick book lying on the table in the corner.
She said yes to Robert, who said he would leave refreshments on the counter at the entrance, and headed toward the book. A note was placed above the book.
[I brought out a book that might be useful.]
It was a line she saw once.
Carcel’s handwriting, it was the same handwriting that signed the contract papers.
Charlotte noticed his handwriting and it felt good. I felt it at the time, it was the softest handwriting I had ever seen.
The curves were smooth, but the straight lines were also strong, giving it a smooth and powerful image at the same time.
The writing was exactly the image she felt when she first saw his face.
“Does the handwriting look like it’s owner too?”
She told a ridiculous joke that no one would hear and picked up the book while Charlotte sat on the chair. But as soon as I opened it, what I saw was strange writing that was not legible at all.
“W-what?”
The writing was not in the imperial language or even the language of the neighboring kingdom.
Confused, Charlotte fumbled for words and carefully turned the page. However, looking in the middle of the book, there was nothing to read.

“It is an old language. It appears to be written in an ancient language because it’s not well known.”
Ahin looked at the language in the book and explained the situation.
It was an elegant, no-frills interpretation that made everything understandable with this alone.
“Sir Ahin, Can you read the ancient language?”
“Of course I know… The ancient language is the primary language of magic formulas, so mages learned it.”
Charlotte returned the book to him.
“Can you explain it to me?”
“I’m Sorry .”
He flatly refused.
“It’s a book from the Duke’s library, I can’t read it carelessly. The miss is the only one allowed in.”
“Oh, I understand.”
Charlotte thought it was frivolous.
“So how can I read it?”
I frowned and looked at the book.
“Should I learn the ancient language?”
“Well, I don’t really want to recommend this. I’ll let you know if you want to learn, but it takes at least a year to be able to read it.”
Ahin decides to stop Charlotte from trying to learn the ancient language.
“Of course, you can this year if you are as immersed in studying as I am. But if I do other things like miss and learn periodically, it will take three years.”
“What’s that?”
Charlotte handed the book to Theo, who was interested in it. Since it is an important book, you don’t have to worry that it will be damaged even if a child reads it because it has a conserving magic.
She smiled briefly as Theo pretended he could read, flipped through its pages, and then got serious again.
“What should I do?”
If I have to learn, I have the will to learn. However, if it took three years, I wondered if it was necessary to learn it as Ahin said.
I won’t be here in three years anyway.
As she sighed with her complicated heart, Sir Ahin cast a look that seemed to ask why her eye was so serious.
“Why are you so worried?”
“Because I can’t read it, of course….”
“Miss said it is difficult to learn, but not impossible to read.”
“What do you mean?”
Charlotte struggled to control what he meant.
“Isn’t the Duke there?”
“The Duke? But Duke is a Knight, he doesn’t know the ancient language right?”
“Huh? Did the Duke not tell you?”
Ahin groaned in surprise, then rubbed his chin vigorously.
“Duke Heinst comes from a family of wizards with a long history, so they unconditionally study ancient languages from a young age. In fact, it is unusual that a duke has no talent for magic and is good at the art of swordsmanship.”
This was strange to those who didn’t originally know that Carcel was a rosito.
“As soon as young master Theo begins to learn to write, he will surely learn the ancient languages.”
He might not know what studying was, but Theo shook his head reflexively.
“Young master.”
Ahin pulled his hair back and laughed out loud.
“Even if you don’t like it, you will. Even if you say you don’t like it now, when you grow up you will definitely think that you want to be like the duke.”
“Wow .”
“Haha. Anyway, if you ask for an explanation from the Duke, he will listen to you. In fact, I think the two of you might be able to spend some time together.”
