Nina was relieved by those words. What he said was not wrong.
Seeing that she was quite hurt at the truth that was pointed out, it seemed that she was really overprotecting her knights.
“Therefore. Vice-Captain, report the situation.”
As Nina exhaled her breath and changed to working mode, Jean took a polite stance and started to report the happenings.
“A lizard-shaped Bellac invaded. It appeared to be at least Grade A, and was secreting a sticky, mucus-like acid poison from its body. Lesser Bellac were also at the attack scene.”
He lightly explained the battle and said.
“There are no injuries. The slime poison didn’t break through the uniform, but there are some Knights who need to receive new ones. And there’s a little bit of damage inside the house.”
“Next time, please fight outside or be mindful of property damage.”
General Manager Louis came out of the room and said so. Seeing that his eyes were neatly closed as always, the situation seemed to be really under control.
“We’ll be careful.”
Jean answered with bated breath and Louis smiled faintly.
“After the Bellac died, a fragment was left behind. I retrieved it and put it in a box made by the Wizard Randelll.”
“Ah.”
Which one?
Was it an original fragment? or Copy?
“Did it return to human form?”
At Nina’s question, Jean gently shook his head from side to side.
‘It’s a copy.’
Louis continued.
“And Miss Fiona opened her eyes.”
“Oh? Really?”
Nina turned to him and Louis nodded his head.
“It was amidst the commotion. She was quite confused, so Kirill has given her a sedative. And Miss Mimina is waiting for Dame Nina.”
“Thanks.”
As Nina went up and looked around, the servants were skillfully cleaning all around the place as if it was a usual happening.
While she passed by, Knights often greeted Nina politely while pulling out slimy or dangerous little corpses of lesser Bellac that were sprawl on the floor.
Their behavior could be said to be as surprised as seeing hail suddenly falling from the sky and going out to play with it. So, Nina rather clicked her tongue inside to have worried for nothing.
As she entered the parlor on the second floor, Mimina stood up from her seat, grabbed her hands, placed it on her right side, bent and straightened her knee.
“Greetings Da-Nina.”
“Mimina, it’s been a while. Is your body okay?”
“Yes, of course.”
Nina looked down at her sloppy outfit.
“Forgive me for being dressed like this.”
Mimina laughed.
The Odd-Eye unique to the Blecca tribe sparkled.
“Of course, Da-Nina is free to meet me in her underwear.”
“Thank you for that.”
Nina suggested her seat, and the two sat down at the round table.
When asked about her child’s well-being during a brief exchange of recent happenings, Mimina replied that the child was doing well.
“I feel like I’m going to live now because I’m finally back at work. As expected, I guess I’m more of a work person.”
She said that the child was growing well in the nanny’s hands, and she enjoyed working freely.
“By the way, Da-Nina, I have a request.”
“What?”
“Can I take my child’s name from Da-Nina’s? I’m thinking of calling it Nanania.”
Nina thought for a moment, ‘Where’s my name?’ but she stopped before the words came out.
“Nanania?”
“Nininana is weird. Nanani is also quite not right.”
“Does the first letter of the Blecca have to be repeated?”
“Yes, by repeating the first part we can make a confusing name.”
At Mimina’s words, Nina tilted her head and laughed.
“Somehow, it seems like an interesting anecdote.”
“Our people’s eyes are unique, aren’t they? It is said that there were many people who had power in their eyes.”
Louis suddenly came to mind. When Nina nodded, Mimina said.
“But a strong power brings disaster, so repeating the first part of the name closed the power of the eyes so that the disaster could not find us.”
Mimina said that this story is a long epic that is told every winter.
“If you shorten my name, it’s basically like that.”
Nina said with a smile.
“Thank you for allowing me to follow Da-Nina’s name.”
Nina nodded her head. It was clearly a confusing name, and if that was what she wanted, it seems that the purpose had been achieved.
“Is that why you came here?”
“It’s the grand ball tomorrow.”
“Yes.”
Time flies.
No, was I too busy to notice?
The other nobles seemed to enjoy socializing and partying leisurely, but somehow Nina felt like she fought more than socializing.
“Are you going to go in uniform?”
At Mimina’s words, Nina nodded her head. I’m attending with Adrian anyway….
“Ah.”
Nina looked at Mimina, and she laughed.
Nina chuckled and clasped her chin.
“Did the young master ask for my clothes to be made?”
“I have already made them.”
“Oh my.”
Mimina said it would be better to do one last fitting, and Nina agreed.
It was a beautiful blue dress.
The sky blue hem overlapping in layers was as mysterious as a cloud, and the jewels on it were like a twinkling star among the clouds.
The upper body was snug to the Nina body lines, and the lower part was spread wide.
The clothes weren’t finished in a day or two, so I could tell that Adrian had been preparing them for a long time.
‘He would have ordered it thinking it was my first dress.’
Nina giggled.
When Nina saw the dress he ordered himself, he would have been sullen if she hadn’t said a word.
Mimina said with a satisfied face.
“I searched all the way from Badun Island in the north to Araquil in the south to make a dress the Lord wanted.”
The finished product was so perfect, she was on cloud nine.
“Young Master is picky.”
“Satisfying our picky customers is our pride and joy.”
Nina smiled as Mimina greeted her again in the Blecca way. She took off the dress and returned it to Mimina, who said she would trim it to the newly measured size, and Nina changed to comfortable clothes.
Mimina completed the order for evening dresses, and Nina also ordered some high-quality shirts, pants, vests, and jackets.
Nina, who was neatly dressed and had her hair in ponytails, as usual, headed to Fiona’s room.
Fiona had just woken up from the sedative.
It was a picturesque room with plenty of sunlight, but Fiona’s misery could not be hidden. Her platinum-colored hair was frizzy and her eyes were dry. Her flaky lips and skinny body were pitiful to look at.
After Nina stood at the entrance and after she allowed Fiona to take a full look at her, she said hello.
“My name is Nina La Dell. Whatever the situation may be, it’s nice to meet you anyway.”
Fiona’s eyes fluttered to and fro and looked at Nina. It was a movement that scared Nina even more.
‘Did they use drugs on her?’
After a while, Fiona said.
“I heard about it. I was rescued, and this is the Duke of Luverne.”
Nina swept her chest at Fiona’s words, which were more concise than she expected.
“Then you must have a lot of questions.”
Fiona had a puzzled face and Nina smiled while walking over to her.
“I’m sure Kirill is the one who answered you. She wouldn’t have explained it in detail at all. Doctor’s are such beings.”
A faint smile spread across Fiona’s lips, and it spread relief in Nina’s heart.
If you can laugh at a silly joke, I guess you are fine enough.
“My name is Fiona.”
Fiona said hello.
Nina briefly explained the situation to Fiona in a concise manner. Stories of chasing human traffickers and stories of finding orphans.
That Fiona was isolated alone, and Edgar.
“E-E-E-Edgar is okay? Is he okay? Is h- Cough! Kuh! Cough-.”
Fiona’s eyes fluttered open as she quickly asked in rapid succession, making her dry throat hurt and cough ensue. Nina quickly handed a glass of water to her.
“It’s okay. He’s fine. He’s working as the head of the Templars. He also asked if Fiona was okay. And told me to give this and ask what happened from you.”
Nina took the signet ring from her pocket and held it to Fiona.
Fiona just looked at the ring. Her face was contorted. Reaching out both her hands and holding the ring, Fiona sobbed.
Nina was heartbroken because Fiona was holding her breath and swallowing the cry.
“Edgar… you are cheap…to give me the ring like this…”
Fiona, who was a little more genuine, wiped away her tears and opened her mouth. It seemed in her eyes that she was trying to evoke the atmosphere.
“He looked quite so.”
Nina whispered a gossip word, Fiona raised her head and laughed. After she coughed again, she emptied the glass of water and looked at Nina to ask.
“Have we ever met?”
