“Do you want to go for a walk?”
“Yes.” Yernia replied lazily.
She must have been exhausted from trying not to let the water touch her stomach as much as possible.
When Yernia almost fell asleep with her wet hair, Cassian forced her to stand up so that he could dry them with a towel.
“You look sleepy, Yernia. Why don’t you just rest?”
“I want to get some fresh air outside. It’s frustrating to be indoors all the time.”
“It’s cold out there.”
“I’ll be fine. What about you?”
Yernia was a little scared after the incident with Habin.
She was pretending not to, but she was still reluctant to be alone.
She wanted to go for a walk due to her frustration but she was afraid to go alone again.
That was why she talked about it with Cassian.
However, his response wasn’t good.
“You will feel cold.”
“You are worried about me. Don’t be so sweet all of a sudden. I can’t get used to it.”
She really couldn’t get used to it.
Look at how her heart was beating so wild.
Yernia got rid of that thought so that it wouldn’t react this way again.
Her heart was sort of broken these days.
“Am I making you nervous?”
“Who’s nervous? It’s just that I don’t think you’re the one I used to know anymore. Who are you? Give me back my childhood friend!”
Yernia switched the subject immediately, pretending she wasn’t affected.
She swung an arm around to hit him on the shoulder as a prank but Cassian fell back.
He should have fallen by himself but he had clung to Yernia’s waist like a water ghost and forced her to fall with him.
It was a relief that both of them had fallen on the bed but she had fallen on top of Cassian’s body.
“The kid you knew is dead.”
“Why did you kill him?”
She came here and slept in this position on the first and second day but this felt strange.
Yernia heard and felt Cassian’s loud heartbeat.
Likewise, he would also feel her heartbeat.
“Can’t you get used to the new me?”
“I want the old Cassian back. He made me feel unlucky at times but he wasn’t that bad.”
“That’s your problem. However, you’re so nice that it’s making me crazy.”
“Do you want me to be bad? I guess you like bad girls, huh?”
“Then, do you want to fit in my ideal type, Yernia?”
Yernia tried to get up, but Cassian wouldn’t let go.
How long are they going to stay like this?
Yernia didn’t want him to hear her heartbeat.
“No. I’m going to be the exact opposite.”
“Hahaha. Too bad. You are my type.”
Cassian must be doing this on purpose.
It was highly probable that he was saying this on purpose to distract her.
Yet, why were her fingertips tingling with excitement?
Why did he have the power to make her feel good for no reason?
The way he made her feel was too wild.
No.
She should get herself together.
‘ Wake up, Yernia!’
Yernia tried to get rid of distractions.
That’s what Jenan usually did.
She must be logical every time her heart and mind told her to do different things.
Yes.
If she was rational, Cassian wasn’t good for her.
“I know your taste. It’s the exact opposite of me. You adore women of exceptional beauty.”
“Who said that? Did some guy told you that?”
“What’s wrong with liking pretty girls? It wasn’t like you adore me.”
She just had a little crush on him back when they were young.
As she grew up, Yernia had also established her own taste so why did she have too keep seeing someone who wasn’t even her type?
Perhaps, she had been guiding Cassian too often.
“Let’s say that what you just said about me is true. However, my ideal type have already changed.”
What was he talking about all of a sudden?
“It’s you, Yernia.”
“You really need to stop teasing me. It’s making me furious!”
“Why are you angry?”
“Do you like me, Cassian?”
Yernia wasn’t immune to Cassian’s occasional confusing jabs.
She was certain that he didn’t like her so why was she furious about it?
Wasn’t she supposed to rejoice that he didn’t like her at all?
There were moments when she wanted to tell him about how she felt, but if she did, she would have confessed.
“No. Never mind. Don’t answer me.”
When she thought of it that far, Yernia felt rattled because she was acting too hasty.
How would she react if Cassian told her he liked her as a joke?
These days, Yernia couldn’t seem to understand herself.
Because of him, her heart was beating so fast and her emotions were in a constant high and low that she was too scared to think about their future together.
She thought she really liked Cassian but that was before she assumed that he didn’t have any reason to be friendly towards her.
She had no idea how to react if he actually said he liked her in this situation.
“Why don’t you wait for my response?”
“I will not know what to do if you tell me you like me. I’ll be glad if you said no.”
‘I don’t want to go further in this relationship.’ She repeated multiple times in her head to brainwash herself.
‘I should be glad if he said no. But if he actually said yes, that would probably send me to hell.’
“I’m going for a walk. I want to get some fresh air.”
When she took out her coat, Cassian got dressed properly as well.
Before leaving, Cassian’s face hardened when he grabbed her arm so that he could put a scarf around her neck.
Was he angry at her?
However, the hand that had grabbed her in silence felt nice and warm, so she simply dismissed it as an illusion.
