“Yes. You should allow me to do it, Yernia.” Cassian reiterated.
“Do you need my permission?”
“Always.”
“What if I say no?”
She asked, simply curious about his answer.
He was asking for permission, but at the same time, he seemed to think that Yernia would immediately say ‘of course’ that she wondered if he even needed her permission in the first place.
Suddenly, Cassian flashed her an ear-splitting grin.
“Well… I don’t know. Will you give me back my heart, then?”
It was like Cassian to be this cheeky so she found it funny when he said that.
Anyway, he was determined to do what he wanted but it wasn’t like she hated it.
Yernia’s pursed lips couldn’t help but open so that she could laugh about it.
“What are you talking about?” She smiled a little.
“Then shall I wait until you say yes?”
Cassian slowly withdrew as if giving her the option to choose.
Yernia felt regret when his warm body got farther and farther away from her.
When the hand caressing her lips slowly dropped, Yernia unconsciously grabbed it back.
“…….”
She couldn’t say anything whether it be asking him for a kiss or something else.
Her mind was too chaotic.
Yernia knew she had to stop here, but she didn’t want to.
Inside her, the emotions coming from the opposite sides of the spectrum were having a tug-of-war.
“Or would you rather I won’t wait?”
She licked her lips and swept her flowing hair back.
His slightly downcast eyes looked confident, but the words sounded patient but worn out.
Cassian must have been that determined.
Why was he acting like he was about to take her soul?
Yernia took a big breath.
She clenched her trembling hands and finally nodded.
It was the beginning of a long night.

When Cassian’s face filled Yernia’s vision, she felt faint as if she were drowning.
Cassian stared straight into her eyes and they seemed to burn with desire.
The heated atmosphere made Yernia blush.
As Cassian constantly looked at her face as if he wouldn’t grow tired of it, he also brushed the stray hair strand away on her face.
He dropped kisses on her round forehead and cheeks one after another as if he was planting flower seeds with his lips, waiting for them to bloom.
“Do you know how much I’ve endured waiting for this moment, Yernia?”
His face softened and his tone sounded affectionate.
“Let’s just hold hands.”
“Why?”
He didn’t seem to like the idea of holding hands.
It can’t be helped.
When they got married, she and Cassian were simply childhood friends at the time, although he might have complained about it when it came to their relationship as an Esper and a guide.
They had no feelings for each other at all even after getting married.
The idea could cast a question full of implications.
Cassian bit Yernia’s lips as if she was punishing her for not understanding.
“I wanted to do this with you for a long time and it’s driving me insane.”
Yernia’s only response was to shake her head.
Cassian grabbed Yernia’s chin and urged her look at him without asking again if she knew.
An indescribable emotion twinkled in his dark blue eyes.
Cassian ran his fingers through her hair and lifted his upper body.
She freaked out when he suddenly grabbed her foot and kissed it.
“Are you a pervert?”
“I don’t know, but I guess so,”
Cassian smirked in amusement.
Yernia realized her biggest mistake was not guiding Cassian for a week of separation.
Even though she was already guiding him right now, it felt strange to lick his lower lip as if she was thirsty for his taste.
She stared blankly at the tongue hiding inside his mouth.
“Yernia.” He whispered while wearing an affectionate yet seductive smile. “This is how a guide should do it.”

She was doomed and ruined.
Yernia woke up a while ago but she just couldn’t open her eyes upon sensing Cassian’s persistent gaze on her face.
He might as well have been licking her cheek.
She must have been crazy.
It was impossible for her to do it if her mind was really sound.
It wasn’t like she regretted it.
She was just surprised that she allowed it.
What should she do now?
Pretend nothing had happened between them?
Yernia tried to wake up by casually opening her eyes but she stiffened the instant she felt a hand pulling her waist.
She suddenly remembered what happened last night, so she freaked out and pretended to sleep once again.
“Yernia,” Cassian said.
Yernia waited patiently for his next words.
What should she tell him?
Cassian expressed anxiety about leaving her alone last time, thinking she was still asleep.
Would it be the same today too?
She was looking forward to it a little but she was also worried that he would utter a harsh remark, saying that last night’s guidance was terrible.
“I know you’re awake so open your eyes.”
Cassian’s mood seemed different than expected.
“When will you wake up? I’ve been waiting for you to do so.”
Should she open her eyes or not?
It was funny how she was still pretending when she had already been caught.
Inevitably, Yernia opened her eyes.
“Hello.”
