- Chapter 17-4 - I Became Close to the Villain Chapter 17-4
I borrowed my relatives for a carriage.
I explained that I was going to visit my old house, noting that it was soon to be my deceased mother’s birthday, and that I had borrowed their carriage to do so. There were minor inconveniences, such as being ridiculed during the process, but I didn’t care.
I left in broad daylight on purpose, and sent the carriage and driver back first, using the excuse of going to sleep at my old neighbor’s house.
“…….”
I came to a halt in front of an old house that was overgrown with ivy. Ten years ago, we had a good time here.
After a brief appreciation, I entered the yard. I walked around the mansion and into the garden, where we used to spend a lot of time playing.
The moonlight was fading, and the road ahead was only dimly illuminated by the stars. I made my way inside, stepping on the unmanaged, brittle grass.
There was a man in a white robe standing there.
Idris stood still, not wearing the hood, as an unfamiliar adult.
He became aware of my presence and turned to face me. It seemed that he was really surprised when I came.
“Idris.”
I called him nervously.
“Vianne.”
He answered in a much lower voice than before.
It was someone I had met for the first time in more than ten years.
I took a long breath and tried to calm down
“I thought you were dead. We spent ten years knowing that.”
“…….”
“What happened to you?”
“… First, let’s sit down.”
Idris made the suggestion without taking his eyes off me.
“Why?”
When I asked, he replied quickly,
“You look sick.”
I made eye contact with him. I flinched at the deep worry in his bright red eyes, and his fingers trembled. But he didn’t look away.
“You were the one who got shot, so why am I in pain?”
The emotions I couldn’t fully swallow came out of my mouth.
“Vianne. Don’t worry about that. Because you came here.”
Idris said quietly. Then he smiled softly at me.
On the other hand, for a moment, I was furious. It’s ridiculous for him to act like nothing happened when he got shot.
“What happened?”
I asked the question very sharply. The things I had piled up came out one after the other.
“What would you do if I had your head pierced? The attack could be dodged, right?”
“… Vianne.”
“Why didn’t you tell me who you were even though you were shot that day? Why did you appear as a mage out of nowhere, why did you save me, and what are your intentions…!”
“Vianne, calm down.”
Idris quickly grabbed me as I stumbled and staggered.
Oh, what has he been doing already? My vision was distorted and Iwas short of breath.
I lowered my head, took a deep breath, and grabbed his arm and squeezed it tightly. I thought he would get rid of my hand, but Idris didn’t budge.
‘Yes, he grew up and became stronger.’
“As expected, your condition…….”
Idris muttered anxiously.
“Let go.”
“Vianne, wait a minute. I will help you.”
“Didn’t you hear me tell you to let me go?”
“If you let go, you’ll faint. I’m holding you so you didn’t faint.”
“What?”
I raised my brows and raised the end of my speech in annoyance. Idris calmly explained.
“Your mana has accumulated too much. Enough to break the spell that had been put on you ten years ago. The scale of the mana is incomparable to what it used to be. It seems that the speed in which mana is accumulating has accelerated since you became an adult… It’s dangerous like this.”
“You mean if it weren’t for your magic, I’d be dead sooner?”
Idris, who seemed to be seriously thinking about something, stopped at my words.
“… I won’t let that happen, so you don’t have to assume that.”
“I mean, I will probably die soon.”
Somehow, they recognized me and the mage attacked me all the way here. It seems that I was almost shining like the sun, showing off my mana. My prediction was correct.
“Vianne, that’s why I came.”
He said what I wanted. As if it were a pity, he looked at me with so much affection.
“…… That’s why you’re here?”
To save me, as soon as he became the master?
Really?
“Yes. I’ll explain now, let’s sit down. You seem to be having a hard time taking it all in right now.”
Idris said as if to comfort me. Then he took me and sat me on a nearby bench.
He sat in front of me with one knee bent and took my right hand. Did he put a spell on ?
“I’ll answer your questions honestly, so don’t push yourself too hard.”
He placed a small magic circle in my hand and asked softly.
His small magic circle soon melted into me. Then, my breathing became more comfortable. It was a great treatment, deserving of his title.
“Idris.”
“Yes, Vianne.”
“I am afraid of you.”
You are getting closer to the villain in a novel I know.
I held back the rest of my words. On the contrary, I still can’t say I’m going to be honest.
