Her forehead could be seen dripping with cold beads of sweat. His excellent eyesight, which could see everything clearly in the dark, did not even miss such a small thing. So, he became even more upset and his heart, all broken.

It would be painful just to get poisoned, but with her foot like this, it was not even possible to estimate how much pain Roelin would have been feeling right now—just by guessing from all the sweat on her forehead.

Kergel carefully had Roelin seated on the floor. And right after sitting on one knee in front of her, he opened his mouth slowly.

“You’d better pull out the branch and apply a simple treatment. I thought that if I were to move incorrectly like this, the wound would have opened up even further.”

Kergel’s voice sounded a little trembling. He thought of the reason why he didn’t even notice it and instantly blamed himself.

Could he have felt that emotion completely? Roelin was still looking at Kergel. Yet, she had a complex expression on her face as if she was utterly confused by his change.

Kergel saw her eyes that quivered at him, but he only opened his mouth again calmly in return.

“It’s going to hurt a whole lot…… if you can no longer stand it, just lean on me instead.”

He said that, but he didn’t think that she would lean on him at all. Since he had yet returned to his original appearance.

No, even if he did go back to his original state, would she still be able to see him the way she used to?

She had already seen himself like this anyway.

But he soon calmed down and leaned himself more firmly against her instead so that Roelin’s body wouldn’t shake. Then, he carefully wrapped her foot in one hand and pulled out the branch that penetrated her foot with the other.

Simple first aid was possible. It hadn’t been in case he got hurt, but it was to provide simple treatment when a knight or soldier got injured during training or even hunting. That way, they would be able to resume training as soon as possible.

It was not in Kergel’s character to make a fuss and waste time until the doctor eventually arrived.

Bert, who found out about his intentions, grumbled while saying; ‘it’s terrible’. Nevertheless……

Anyway, at this moment, it was rather useful to have learned the first aid treatment.

And of course, that was not something that he would usually do at all.

In the process of pulling out the branch, her flesh eventually tore apart and blood began to ooze out. No matter how careful he was, he just couldn’t prevent the wound that opened up from the branch that had bent arbitrarily.

Kergel tried to swallow a groan as he felt that Roelin was shivering with her head still buried in his chest. Then, he once again exerted more strength to the hand that was currently holding the branch.

At the same time as the branch that penetrated the foot escaped, Kergel exhaled loudly. It was only then did he realize that he had been holding his breath without even realizing it. But there was no more time to catch his breath at that moment.

Kergel tore the lining of his clothes and immediately wrapped it tightly against Roelin’s foot. Originally, the wound would have to be washed with water, but since water was not available right now, he decided that it had been essential to stop the bleeding first.

And once again, Roelin swallowed down a moan. Kergel twisted his face because he felt sorry for her, but apart from that, his hands did not cease to stop moving at all.

It was because he knew that being hesitant while dragging it out would cause her even more pain.

“It’s done.”

Kergel wrapped and tied Roelin’s feet tightly and looked at her. Roelin’s cheeks were already wet with tears. He eventually picked her up and rose to his feet.

Then, Roelin stiffened up again as she jolted. Kergel noticed how Roelin was being, but he soon said in a low, subdued voice without showing any indication at all.

“I’ll start moving again. We’ll be there soon, so hang in there a little more.”

There was no answer that could be heard from Roelin. After flashing a bitter smile, he soon started running again.
