I Became the Monster’s Bride - Chapter 160
No Matter What You Look Like (9)
“It’s not a completely sealed force. It is the very small part of the power that remains absolutely sealed.”
Hilken answered Lenoff’s question with a firm conviction and went on soon after.
“According to the records that still remained, the original power of the Wolves was so enormous and terrifying that they could overturn the whole world. So, after a long period of research, some people have found a way to seize the power in which they have to give up now without trying at all since it had already been sealed anyway……”
“Wait a minute.”
Lenoff stopped listening to Hilken and raised his hand to halt him. Hilken hurriedly closed his mouth when he was just about trying to continue the story.
“Did you just say that they have found a way to steal the power?”
“What? Yes, that’s what the records state. Some of that still remained in my family’s records as well.”
“……”
Tap. Tap.
Lenoff tapped on the armrest without saying a word. His blue eyes were already glistening with greed.
Duke Deberton could fully guess what Lenoff, his grandson and also his Lord, was currently thinking. He then cast a glance at the Knights Commander.
Then, the Knights Commander rose to his feet with a firm expression and turned towards Hilken. He was already holding a sword in his hand that had slipped out of its sheath.
“Leader, why would you all of a sudden…?”
Hilken opened his mouth with a quizzical expression. But he couldn’t even finish his sentence as he was abruptly forced to fall back.
A solid line seemed to have been drawn right under his neck and blood spurted out immediately.
Despite having taken the life of a person who had been sacrificed at once, the Knights Commander simply put his sword back into its sheath without any change in his expression and bent down towards Lenoff.
“Go through everything in the Debian family records and bring before me the things that are related especially to the Werewolves.”
“Yes, Your Highness!”
The Knights Commander bowed once again to show his courtesy. Lenoff then proceeded to frown while looking down at Hilken’s body, which was still a living figure just a little while ago.
“Furthermore, the clean-up of the Debian family should be taken care of by Grandfather, of course. And neatly—without a single speck of problem at all, I presume.”
“Of course, Your Highness.”
The Duke of Deberton instantly replied with a cruel glint in his eyes.
It was right at that moment when a family who had been loyal to the Royal Family for generations took a wrongful charge and eventually entered the path of extinction.

“……sniff.”
“I really am fine, Silloa. So, please stop crying now.”
“No, Empress. That’s not the reason I keep on crying. I just have a slight cold, so my nose keeps on running.”
Who would even believe that? Roelin smiled while feeling embarrassed as she looked at Silloa’s red eyes as well as the tip of her nose.
As soon as she returned to the Palace, she could still vividly remember how Silloa had collapsed before bursting into tears at once.
In addition, even a little while ago, she was still sobbing while serving Roelin in the bath……
“Shall we have a cup of hot tea?”
“Yes, please.”
Roelin nodded at Silloa’s words. Then, Silloa whimpered while she was leaving the bedroom in order to prepare the tea. Roelin looked at the door where Silloa had left for a moment before she turned her head and looked around in the bedroom.
She hadn’t been gone for a very long time. So, nothing had really changed.
Nevertheless, for some reason or another, she finally felt like she was back home after such a long time.
She missed it so much that her heart felt incredibly touched.
Roelin looked down at her hand. She couldn’t touch anything because of the medicine that had been applied on the palm as well as the back of her hand.
And it seemed absolutely impossible to even step on the floor since her feet were all tied with bandages.
‘Plus, he told me not to lift a hand at all.’
She remembered Kergel, who had finally left the bedroom, but only after making several requests.
“Kergel should have washed up and rested well by now…”
Roelin smiled as she thought of him who had been guarding the bedroom the whole time right until she eventually came out of the bath and got treated by the Palace Doctor.
Throughout their whole journey back to Seroif, he took care of her as he got into the carriage with her. Lucy and Roelin, herself, became absolutely panicked as they tried to dissuade him, but it was utterly useless.
“……I feel sorry for Kergel, but I think Silloa is a much better caregiver.”
She muttered casually and shook her head in embarrassment.
No matter how much her eyes had gone blind, she still thought that it was not right at all.
How could she compare a maid with someone who was trying to take care of a person for the first time ever?
It was just that she had felt that way.
Roelin felt that her cheeks were burning and looked out the window. Then, she heard the bedroom door reopened once again. It seemed that Silloa had already prepared the tea and came back inside.
