I Became the Monster’s Bride - Chapter 163
The World that You Would Be Living In. (2)
“…I think it would be better for us to carry out what Lord Bashel has said for now.”
Kergel clasped his armrest once again before speaking out in a low, subdued voice. His golden gaze slowly glanced over the servants who had already been gathered for the meeting.
“It’s not because I’m afraid of war, it’s simply because I want to prevent all the innocent lives from being sacrificed for nothing. You all have to act rationally in response.”
Contrary to his own words, his eyes were not rational at all. No, actually, no one could have thought otherwise even if he were to lose his temper at that moment. It was because all the aura, which could seem to tear anyone straight to death, was really oozing out.
The people who saw it all had to rub their necks for no apparent reason, but only due to the fact that they had a feeling. It was an act that leaked out instinctively even though they already understood full well that it was not the lives of themselves actually.
That was how deep the Emperor’s wrath towards Rakain must have been.
“……Would you really not mind doing so?”
Heinez asked with a doubtful expression even though Kergel had already agreed. Then, Kergel looked at him and gave a slight nod, albeit biting his own lips.
“Even if it’s not okay at all, you should still do it. In any case, the Empress…… It is still her motherland and also her bloodline.”
Kergel once again gripped the armrest. Even the parts that had remained in the wind eventually crumbled to powder before they scattered onto the floor.
Roelin never expressed a single thing outwardly. She didn’t even try to mention her own story about Rakain at all, just as if she had nothing to do with it.
But every time she heard some news related to Rakain, he could see her face darkened in return.
She probably thought that a war might soon break out against Rakain.
Since most of the people in the Imperial Palace had been arguing along that manner, it must have already reached her ears by now.
“If I can really have it my way, I would just like to erase the entire Rakain off from the map of the continent…”
Kergel muttered his words as if he was spitting them out and glanced at Heinez. Just as though Heinez didn’t really know what he was thinking, he calmly met that gaze before lowering his head.
“Still, I can’t help it all. The most important thing now is that the Empress feels comfortable.”
Kergel went silent for a moment before he continued to speak to Heinez once again.
“So, proceed with asking for an apology from Rakain properly. Well, even if Rakain were to blow this opportunity with some kind of nonsense, I would still welcome it with open arms.”
Then, he would have had his own sort of justification and there would then be no problems whatsoever even if he did as he pleased.
Kergel ferociously revealed his teeth as he tried to suppress his anger.

“They just demanded an apology from Rakain again?”
Roelin frowned slightly while holding back the pain before she eventually showed some interest in what Silloa had just brought up.
Silloa merely shrugged her shoulders as she watched the Court Physician tended to Roelin’s wounds. Then, she finally regained her senses at the question asked and nodded her head.
“Yes, Empress. They said that they have sent an official document to Rakain demanding another apology.”
“An apology… oh, well. But are they actually going to admit and apologize for what they had done back in Rakain, though?”
Roelin shook her head skeptically as she narrowed her brows with a little ‘ah’. Silloa immediately fired with an acute tone at the Court Physician who was still treating Roelin’s foot.
“Be extra careful! The Empress is in pain!”
“She has a penetrating wound, so it is very natural for her to be in pain. But I am, of course, being as careful as possible too…”
The Court Physician became furious and while she was replying to Silloa, she looked at Roelin’s eyes before her words blurted out in the end. Then, Roelin patted her hand softly and opened her mouth in a very gentle tone.
“I’m just fine. And as the Court Physician has said, it’s simply natural to be in pain. Silloa, I understand your heart for me, but that doesn’t justify your actions towards the Court Physician just then at all. So, I would like you to apologize sincerely.”
“…I’m so sorry, Doctor.”
Silloa tucked her neck at Roelin’s words before she apologized meekly to the Court Physician.
“No, well, it’s not like I was looking for an apology anyway…”
The Court Physician accepted her apology with a rather puzzled expression. Roelin watched the two of them, then turned her gaze to stare out the window.
The warm sunlight streamed along the window frame through the open curtains. It looked so peaceful.
To the extent that what had happened to her just a short while ago felt like almost a dream in itself.
“The treatment is all over now, Empress.”
After the Court Physician had finished her treatment, Roelin’s foot was dressed meticulously in bandage once again before she soon stood up. Roelin looked out the window as she smiled slightly at her.
“It has always been a lot of work. Thanks to you, the wound seems to be healing rather quickly.”
“Since My Lady, Empress is concentrating on the treatment together as well, I think that your recovery is proceeding swiftly.”
The Court Physician lowered her head as if she was feeling quite apologetic. Even so, she still couldn’t hide that happy look on her face. She had been recognized for her work and she could even hear a word of congratulations, so that was only natural for her.
