Chapter 121: Chapter 121 Foodie
But as angry as she was, she still decided to keep it from He Jingyao.
As far as she knew, the relationship between He Jingyao and He Yizheng wasn’t bad, so, what if Jingyao did something irrational after finding out about this?
Therefore, the best course of action was to not let him know. After all, if she was firm about her stance, Yizheng probably wouldn’t entertain any further ideas. If there was a next time, she could tell Jingyao then; it wouldn’t be too late.
However, she just couldn’t fathom what Yizheng’s motive was for doing this. Was it really just to prove his charm? That seemed too childish, didn’t it? Su Zixi thought with disgust and couldn’t help but rub her arms.
She placed the cup on the table and suddenly remembered Yizheng saying that Xia Xinyu had attempted suicide because the He Family had called off the engagement…
Her heart clenched once again!
It was very likely true that Xinyu had attempted suicide, or else He Jingyao wouldn’t have been so furious, and Yizheng wouldn’t have needed to tell such a lie.
But as for the so-called engagement, although it was wrong for the He Family to unilaterally call it off, there were still marriages and divorces, so resorting to suicide over such a matter seemed somewhat like a threat. No wonder He Jingyao was angry.
Nevertheless, if Xinyu had really died, she would have felt somewhat distressed. Thinking about this, Su Zixi bit her lip.
Fortunately, it wasn’t long before He Jingyao’s figure appeared.
He was dressed in a simple white shirt that made his eyebrows and eyes look even darker, and he exuded an indescribable handsomeness and distinction, much more so than Yizheng.
Su Zixi was momentarily dazzled.
As He Jingyao approached, unfastening his cufflinks and noticing her stupefied look, he chuckled, walked up to her, and wrapped her in his arms, “What are you thinking about?”
“Nothing…” Su Zixi hurriedly blushed and lowered her head.
She suddenly realized that, over the past two days, Jingyao was holding her more and more naturally… and she was finding it increasingly hard to resist.
“Have you been waiting long? Let’s go have dinner,” he said with a smile.
“Oh, have you finished with your work?” she blinked.
“Hmm.” The man ruffled her hair.
“Was it… something you can tell me about?” Su Zixi asked, pretending to be curious.
“Some people don’t know any better, thinking they can threaten me with death,” He Jingyao said, his lips curving into a somewhat cold smile, “so I went to see if she was dead or not.”
“Who is it? How is she now?” Su Zixi quickly pressed.
“A person who doesn’t matter. Don’t worry, she didn’t manage to die,” He Jingyao raised an eyebrow, “Forget about others, I’m taking you somewhere nice.”
It was good she wasn’t dead… Su Zixi tactfully didn’t ask any more, nodding obediently instead.

The car turned a corner and stopped in front of a serene courtyard.
Hand in hand with He Jingyao, Su Zixi stepped out of the car, curiously inspecting the building in front of her: “Is this a restaurant?”
“Yes, but they only accept reservations from acquaintances and are not open to the public,” He Jingyao wrapped an arm around her waist, smiling, “I guarantee you’ll like it.”
He had realized last night that his wife was a little foodie, her face lighting up whenever she ate something delicious.
Su Zixi couldn’t help but feel excited.
At this moment, He Jingyao’s assistant hurried over with a troubled look: “Mr. He, Boss Xu says the place is already booked for today, so he won’t be taking any more guests.”
He Jingyao’s eyes darkened, his voice growing colder, “Since when does Mr. Xu only serve one table a day? Didn’t you mention my name? Tell him to add another table!”
The assistant gave a wry smile: “Of course I did, but… Boss Xu said the guests inside have booked the entire place, and he’s received a high fee for it, so he can’t go back on his word.”
“Who booked the place?” He Jingyao asked coldly.
In Yanzhou City, was there really someone daring enough to turn him away?
“It was me.” Accompanying this teasing voice, a handsome, tall man appeared at the doorway, “I mean, I’m just trying to have a nice anniversary celebration, why are you here causing a scene?”
