Chapter 32 Sorry, I’m Late (1)
The sudden voice startled An Ya and the other
two. They quickly squatted down and secretly looked in the direction of the door.
She saw two Neon men clustered around a fatty. The three of them walked in, chatting and laughing.
The three of them looked arrogant and full of smiles. Coupled with their wretched looks, An Ya and the others felt a little disgusted when they saw their smiles.
Behind the three Neon men, a middle-aged Dragon Nation man had a fawning smile on his face. He nodded and bowed from time to time, reminding people of an animal called a pug.
However, it was obvious that the three Neon men did not even look at him. They scolded him from time to time and looked at him with contempt and disdain.
Due to certain historical reasons, the Dragon Nation and the Neon Nation had a long-standing feud. In addition, the Neons were generally extremely arrogant, so the Dragon Nation had always disliked the Neons.
Now, seeing this middle-aged man from the Dragon Nation being so obsequious in front of these three Neon men, a look of disdain and disgust flashed across the eyes of An Ya, Zhang Xiaodao, and Meng Yue.
The Neons headed inside, drawing closer to An Ya and the others.
Seeing this, An Ya immediately asked for help in Chu Heng’s private chat and held her pistol in her hand.
Fortunately, she had gone to the shooting gallery with friends before and knew how to use a gun. She held her breath nervously as she gently loaded the gun, then flicked off the safety and prepared to fire at any moment.
Zhang Xiaodao knew that he could not
continue waiting for death like this. Although the other party had the advantage in
numbers, the attributes of the three of them should not be inferior to these Neons. If the sneak attack succeeded, their chances of winning should be quite high.
He looked in An Ya’s direction, ready to use hand signals to inform her of his thoughts, but was startled by the silver pistol in her hand.
However, Zhang Xiaodao had been in the underworld for many years and his mental fortitude was not something ordinary people could compare to. He quickly calmed down and could not help but heave a sigh of relief. He opened An Ya and Meng Yue’s private chat.
“Watch my hand gestures. On the count of three. I’ll go out and distract them. Then, An Ya, shoot the one in the middle with your gun. Meng Yue, play it by ear.”
Worried that An Ya would be soft-hearted as a
girl, Zhang Xiaodao specially added.
“An Ya, remember to shoot them in the head
or in the heart. Don’t feel burdened. If you don’t kill them, they’ll kill me and abuse all of you as they please.
An Ya didn’t answer. Chu Heng had already warned them about this, but they didn’t know
that almost all of An Ya’s grandfather’s generation had died at the hands of the
Neons, so she actually hated them more than
anyone.
Zhang Xiaodao curled his fingers and started the countdown of three. The moment the last finger was lowered, he rushed to the front of the Neons like a leopard. The short knife in his hand that flashed with a cold light was also handed out and stabbed towards the
heart of the leftmost Neon.
He attacked without any hesitation. This was
a life and death battle.
‘It’s either you or me!’
Almost at the same time as Zhang Xiaodao
rushed out, An Ya stood up, poked the muzzle of her gun through the gap in the shelves, and pulled the trigger heavily at the fat Neon man. The next moment, the sound of the bullet leaving the barrel was deafening. A stream of red flame shot out of the muzzle. However, the Neon men reacted unexpectedly
quickly.
In a flash, the Neon man that Zhang Xiaodao was attacking twisted his body at a small
angle.
But it was this very small angle that caused the short knife in Zhang Xiaodao’s hand to deviate half an inch from the target’s heart.
Half an inch, almost as long as a fingernail, but it was this small distance that saved the Neon man’s life.
However, although he managed to save his
life, Zhang Xiaodao’s attack almost destroyed
his chance of resisting.
The Neon man kicked at Zhang Xiaodao’s heart, but he was blocked by Zhang Xiaodao’s elbow. However, he also used the recoil to take a big step back and ‘pushed’ out the
short knife that was inserted in his chest, avoiding the short knife from causing secondary damage in his body. At the same time, he pulled away from Zhang Xiaodao.
On the other side of the battlefield, the moment An Ya fired, the fat Neon man seemed to know the danger in advance and pulled the middle-aged Dragon Nation man over to help him block the shot.
Blood splattered as the shot landed on the
middle-aged man’s shoulder. He immediately cried out in pain.
The fat Neon guy shook off the middle-aged man and grinned at An Ya.
The next moment, he charged forward like a
wild boar.
The man knocked down the shelves in front of An Ya before she could fire a second shot.
It was obvious that the man in front of him
had probably awakened.
However, An Ya was not to be trifled with. With her attributes, she could have awakened long ago. It was just that she had not found
any seeds. Coupled with Chu Heng’s advice, she was not in a hurry to awaken.
The instant the shelves collapsed on top of her, An Ya quickly pulled back. A crowbar with a metallic sheen appeared in her hand.
Before she could stop herself, An Ya stomped her foot heavily and immediately flew in the opposite direction to the Neon fatty. She
raised the crowbar in her hand and suddenly swung it at him.
However, she had still underestimated this
Neon fatty. Or rather, all three of them had underestimated this fatty.
As an Awakened, he was the most dangerous
of the three.
Seeing An Ya coming at him, contempt flashed in the Neon fat man’s eyes. He tilted
his body slightly and met the descending crowbar with his shoulder.
He didn’t even bother to dodge. He actually wanted to take An Ya’s strike head-on.
“Bang…”
There was the muffled sound of a blow. The
crowbar in An Ya’s hand landed hard on the fat Neon man’s shoulder.
However, the fat man, who had received the
blow, still acted as if nothing had happened. Looking at An Ya’s beautiful face, his eyes were filled with greedy lust. He couldn’t help
but lick his lips, laughed and spat out a sentence in Neonese that had a strong obscene meaning.
At the same time, he reached for An Ya with
his hands that were like huge fans. “Sister An Ya…”
Meng Yue shouted and wanted to go over to
help, but she was held back by the last Neon
man.
This Neon man was the weakest of the three Neons, but he relied on his rich combat experience to forcefully hold Meng Yue back,
preventing her from participating in the battlefield of the others.
Seeing that An Ya was about to be caught,
Zhang Xiaodao had no choice but to give up on chasing his opponent and rush towards the
Neon fatty, wanting to help An Ya relieve the pressure.
The Neon fatty glanced sideways at Zhang Xiaodao, who was rushing over, and revealed a sinister smile. He quickly grabbed the crowbar on his shoulder and whipped Zhang
Xiaodao a few meters away.
“Pfft…”
Zhang Xiaodao immediately vomited blood
and lay weakly on the ground, looking dispirited.
The fat man was simply too strong. The attack had almost six or seven times the force of a normal person. Not only did it break his arm, but it also injured his internal organs. However, the fat man did not continue to attack him. Instead, he put away his crowbar and walked towards An Ya with a smile on his
face.
Seeing this scene, despair appeared in An Ya, Zhang Xiaodao, and Meng Yue’s eyes. “Boss… why aren’t you here yet? If you don’t come, your girlfriends and little brother will be hammered to death…”
“Brother Chu Heng, why aren’t you here yet…
If you don’t come, Sister An Ya will be
bullied…”
“Chu Heng, you bastard… Why aren’t you
here yet…”
At that moment, there was an explosion. The glass door of the clothing store exploded.
Everyone looked over. Amidst the rain of glass fragments, a young
man in a camouflage protective suit slowly entered.
The bright sunlight shone on him, as if he
were covered in a holy cloak, like a god descending to the mortal world.
At this moment, a gust of wind blew from somewhere and lifted his hair, revealing the cold and slightly apologetic brown eyes behind it.
“Sorry, I’m late!”
