- Chapter 63 - I Don’t Want the Obsession of a Twisted Archduke Chapter 63
This situation was going out of control.
*** Geppel ***
‘It’s reckless.’
‘There’s no way that’s going to work for this dragon. It’s suicide.’
Those were the innermost thoughts of Erenthal and Geppel while watching the situation develop. Sejan was just laughing, but he might have thought so, too.
Geppel then put on an urgent face.
‘If you don’t get ready, you’ll be in danger.’
Geppel slowly gathered his strength and prepared to defend. A magic of that magnitude would have blown away not only the library, but the whole temple, but he put all of his energy into it to prevent any casualties.
‘You damn dragon. I’ll make you pay for the repair of the temple with interest.’
Or Geppel would just have to repair it with the most expensive materials. That was when Geppel made a firm commitment.
“Oh.”
An exclamation came out of Geppel’s mouth, incapable of holding it in.
It was softening. Kyle’s anger. The darkness that surrounds Kyle. The sinister magic composition in hand. Even his eyes were restored to perfect gold. Just like everything that happened was a lit.
‘No way. That’s how Dragon’s anger dies down in one go?’
Geppel shouted in his mind.
A situation that he could not believe with his own eyes. The same was true of Erenthal, who was surprised.
‘What’s happening now?’
The infamous cold blooded, tearless archduke. Was this the only thing that could calm you down?
Only Sejan was looking at this spectacle with newfound interest.
“Whoa.”
As the situation improved, Riddel breathed a sigh of relief. Both highnesses facing each other, keeping their eyes centered.
‘It’s coming back to normal.’
Thank God.
“…”
“…”
Then came the usual silence between Riddel and Kyle, but for some reason she felt comfortable even with the silence.
“Riddel Spencer.”
Shortly after, Kyle called Riddel’s name. It was a rather calming voice.
“How far can I reach you now?”
This guy was asking a stupid question all of a sudden. Unable to understand his intentions, Riddel tilted her head.
“… Uh, umm ,hair?”
“…”
Geppel didn’t think that was it, but then what did the Archduke wanted?
Riddel, struggling, opened her arms, putting a questioning face on Kyle.
“… What are you doing?”
“I’m going to hug you.”
“What? What nonsense…”
Riddel didn’t wait for Kyle’s cold dismissal and took the leap. Riddel hugged Kyle as hard as she could.
‘It’s probably like holding a big dog, solid and hard.’
Riddel wasn’t cold since she didn’t touch the flesh directly.
Kyle seemed a little surprised by Riddel’s sudden behavior but didn’t shake her off, she soon whispered.
“Good job and thank you for stopping. Kyle.”
Then Riddel patted Kyle on the back. As if she were dealing with a baby.
Why?
Kyle, who would normally have been more than swearing at the situation, was listening silently this time around to Riddel’s words.
Outwardly, Kyle seemed to have become more docile.
Geppel started to wonder how much time passed as he heard.
“Here, here, here it is! I heard an explosion here!”
“What, what the hell is going on?”
“…!”
“…”
The surroundings began to get noisy, roaring with the action of the priests and knights who came after hearing such disturbing noises.
A number that seems to be at least 50 or more.
Their expressions were wretched, but everyone who came was speechless.
The reason for that…
Riddel was tenderly embracing Kyle with the loveliest smile, more than anyone else could believe.
‘… Angel?’
‘It’s an angel!’
‘Goddess?’
Under the illusion of seeing wings behind Riddel’s back, the priests rubbed their eyes all together.
While everyone silently watched them in disbelief, Sejan whistled, Geppel’s eyes were wide open, and priest Erenthal opened his mouth wide.
Geppel thought it was a historic event that would remain in the “Replacement of Arcansian Records”.
***
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.”
As I lay on the bed watching the sunset, I naturally yawned. Honestly, I was wondering about all the previous events.
‘I’m glad things went well.’
Of course, there was this embarrassing part.
‘… No, honestly, I didn’t expect so many people to be watching.’
Had I known, I would never have hugged him. The countless gazes that I only noticed after separating from Kyle…
Sejan’s passionate laughter, Geppel’s astonished look and Lily’s expression accompanied by her eyes blinking so many times to convince herself of the situation.
Oh, I wanted to bury myself into the hole I just dug when I thought about it again. Perhaps I would feel like this for the rest of my life.
This was a separate matter concerning the incident at the library but all the priests who belatedly discovered the library’s condition turned pale. Among all of them, Lantes had been on the verge of fainting when he saw the inside of the dilapidated library.
“ – 10 times.”
Kyle said he would pay 10 times more for repairs, and it quickly cleared up the air. Although, he looked regretful that he hadn’t been broken any more.
‘Such a desirable capitalist world.’
Kyle came into the room, shortly after I came back to the room first and took a good rest. Apparently, I had come to the conclusion of what just happened, but…
That guy was on the couch again. At a glance, Kyle was leaning back on the wide sofa.
‘You’ve been sleeping next to me for a while.’
Even though we were far apart from each other.
‘It’s been a while since he did that.’
I didn’t think it was part of his personality, or was he acting fickle again? At times like that, I couldn’t really tell what was happening in someone else’s mind.
I thought I’d ask him to come next to me, but I decided not to. I was strangely tired, and also too lazy to start a scuffle.
‘Oh, I don’t know. Let’s just get some sleep.’
I closed my eyes slowly. Unlike my relaxed body, I had a strangely clear consciousness, and while I was busy counting sheep, something suddenly came to mind. It was a phrase written in the book from earlier in the library.
‘Why is that phrase coming to mind now?’
Ugh. I couldn’t sleep. Feeling sorry, I looked at Kyle again.
Kyle and the phrase from the book didn’t match just by looking at it.
‘You don’t even seem interested in that in the first place.’
On the contrary, he seemed to be clean on this side.
“… Why are you staring at me like that? Is there something you want to say?”
Kyle suddenly asked… He must have eyes on the side of his head.
I replied with a grain of salt.
“No, it’s just.”
“Just?”
“It’s nothing.”
“What is it? Tell me.”
Why are you so persistent in a place like this once again? Well, I couldn’t be bothered at this rate. I was going to sleep for sure now.
‘Let’s just pretend to be crazy and ask.’
Hmm. What should I do? After thinking for a while, I opened my mouth carefully.
“It’s, uh, it’s nothing short of it. Hmm… Sex…”
“What?
“I’m in a hurry. Kyle is…”
“…”
“Uh. No, not this, sex…”
“What?
“Sex… Dirty.”
“Are you picking a fight?”
“… I can’t.”
My true feelings came out after exerting myself, but I just couldn’t do it. No matter how the situation was between us I couldn’t bring myself to ask him how strong of a sexual desire he possessed.
“Do you need medicine?”
Kyle asked, really meaning “Are you crazy?”
“… I don’t need any.”
I answered bluntly and closed my eyes tightly.
‘Come on, I’m sleeping.’
Let’s not think of such shameless phrases because we have to sleep.
I tried my best to change thoughts in my mind as if I were cleaning my head.
Even though I was counting sheep in my head, all kinds of animals came out. However, the more I did it, the more my thoughts grew wild, and sleep did not come easily.
Oh, I’m screwed.
***
The next morning.
We were ready to go to the Great Duchy, and we were out of the temple.
I was in a hurry because it was a long way back and I was tired since I couldn’t sleep a wink because of that single word from last night.
‘Oh, I’m dying.’
Now that I was paying attention to my surroundings, the priests seemed to have come out to see us off, they were standing in a straight line like the first time.
Meanwhile, Geppel was out to see us off in the form of the High Priest. Dressed in an unadaptable fashion, he was naturally exchanging conversations with Kyle.
“So we’ll see each other in a month?”
“Yes.”
“It’s a pity.”
“…”
In fact, it was more of a one-way discussion than a conversation. Even so, did Geppel know?
Kyle’s silence was surprisingly positive. So, if Kyle was feeling sorry about departing from Geppel, was it a little leap forward?
After talking to Kyle, Geppel looked at me this time. Geppel seemed to be thinking of something, then reached out to me slightly and recited, pausing just before touching his forehead.
Was he conscious of Kyle? I wanted to.
“I, High Priest Geppel Luna of Arcane, wish her lady Riddel Spencer the blessing of her goddess. This blessing will reach the gods.”
