I Don’t Want to Be Loved - Chapter 219
Chapter 219: The Truth About Cheating
Leticia’s binds were untied and per the king’s commands, the men left. Leticia grumbled, rubbing her pained wrists while her sight steadily adjusted to the light in the room ‘till she was able to properly see the vision of the man sitting in front of her.
The man was beautiful and clean-cut, a sweet and pleasing melody to her eyes and like sweet candy that tasted so holy. His ebony black hair shone with gloss luster, yet soft, moving like a prairie grass in the wind. She could feel reverie in her bones gazing into those beautiful purple illuminating eyes as if a jeweler cut their finest gem to insert into. But more than anything, the elegant aura swirling around him since his royal birth made her dewy eyes wet.
She desired this man from the very moment she laid her eyes on him and longed for her gaze to fall unto her, not that silver-haired woman. She fancied his smile; it should be meant only for her. She had much ambition, but she never took a liking for someone so strongly than this in her whole life. Perhaps this was fate. If it was not so, why was she desperately yearning to desire this man — a man she never spoke to before?
“…I’ve long since wished to see you, Your Majesty,” she said, coyly. Though there was a slight tremor in her voice. The king’s lips arched slightly. Leticia gazed into his eyes and saw her reflection. She gained courage and approached him, carefully putting her hand on his knee. She looked at him with an innocent countenance and the most weak and captivating look she could muster.
Whenever she displayed this act, the many men she had experiences with always fell to her knees. Whether it was lust or human interest, it never failed her. This man was the same. It did not help that his relationship with the queen soured either. She was sure he was seeking pleasure and pleasure she could give. This was her chance to steal his heart.
“Am I not more beautiful than my sister?”
The Rihannan she knew was a self-absorbed woman. She knew many women like her. They were noble, she could attest, but they were self-serving. They cared more about themselves than others. A woman like that would never be able to comfort a man. Their presence alone simply tired those around them, annoyed them. It led to their partners seeking pleasure elsewhere.
“I can comfort your heart, Your Majesty.”
Leticia slowly rubbed his thigh, endearingly so. A moment later, she elicited a reaction out of him. She smiled. His large hand that was still like a statue moved and reached the top of her head. Much to her high expectations, she fell from heaven.
“Ahh!”
It was painful. Her scalp was on fire. It was being ripped out. Death was calling her. Igor had not stroked her head as she expected, but grabbed her hair violently and tightly.
“It looks like you haven’t changed at all,” he said. An icy-chilling voice ech*ed in the room.
Leticia furrowed her brows in pain and stared back at Igor as tears slipped out from the corner of her eyes. She was confused, but when their eyes met, she gasped loudly. She could feel the eyes of a bloodthirsty beast desiring to quench its thirst for blood. She sensed hatred and anger in those purple eyes. Leticia shivered in fear.
“What do you mean…?”
Igor glared at her, contempt filling his eyes. The tragic event of the past came to him, filling his heart with blackness.
Flashback.
The red-haired woman opened the door to the home office and excitedly ran towards him. She did everything within her power to tempt her older sister’s husband, Igor.
“Your Majesty, you do not know how overjoyed I am to hear you had called me out amongst all the people who came to meet you.”
She fell to his embrace, dewy red eyes wet with tears. After hearing news of Count Clovis and her father having reclusive meetings, Igor called Leticia to come to his home office. She was overjoyed and Igor smiled at her.
“You must have been lonely this whole time, Leticia,” he said, petting her hair like he was tending to a puppy. Each time he met her, this was all the physical contact he was willing to give. He held her in his arms whenever out in public, but once those gazing eyes left, Igor immediately pushed her away and pulled back the arm wrapped around her. It did not stop many illicit rumors and stories of his affair with Leticia and the many nights they spent together, though.
Igor realized without difficulty that Leticia fooled everyone through her innocent lie. If he uttered now that he never spent a single night with her, Leticia’s status would fall and she would be ousted by society for it would reveal they had no relationship to begin with.
“There’s a rumor that Count Alessin’s having different thoughts these days. Do you know anything about that, Leticia?” Igor asked kindly as her pools of red eyes looked at him.
Her lips arched to a curve. “My father and I think differently. For me, I only have eyes for you, Your Majesty.” Leticia wrapped her arms around Igor’s neck and placed her red lips close to his ear whispering, “For His Majesty, I am willing to give up my father. If there is anything you desire to know, I will tell you.”
Igor smiled lightly. It was the answer he predicted.
“But before that, please embrace me.” Leticia’s desperate pleading eyes burned brightly. “If you embrace me… here and now… I’ll tell you everything and what Count Clovis and my father are planning.”
