I Don’t Want To Be Popular - Chapter 22
Chapter 22: Stand Up For His Cousin
Jade Apartment is a high-end property in Yuzhong located near Yangtze River with a beautiful surrounding scenery. The greenery in the community was the landscape of the Suzhou garden.
Building 27 was the best in Jade Apartment.
This building contained large apartments of 400 square meters each, which came with five bedrooms.
Chen Chuan had made up his mind to buy a 400-square-foot apartment, yet his heart still pounded.
The apartment consisted of four bedrooms, two halls, one kitchen, four bathrooms, and one nanny room. This was considered his first home.
Furthermore, Apartment 3601 was a model apartment filled with luxurious decor. It looked appealing even from the picture on the cell phone. The lamps were carved with raw stones, and there was gold embedded in the wallpaper.
“26,700*400+320,400+5+320,400+80…”
The home loan was 10,680,000 yuan in total. After including the deed tax and maintenance fees worth 640,000 yuan, as well as the renovation cost of 2,000,000 yuan for the model apartment, the bill of the apartment came to nearly 13,320,000 yuan.
Although Chen Chuan did not have to settle the deed tax and maintenance fees immediately, he paid for these at that moment to save himself the trouble later.
There were a lot of contracts for Chen Chuan to sign in the sales office. He also had his identity card photocopied and his thumbprint verified… The saleswoman ran around to assist him in going through the procedure in an orderly manner.
Since Chen Chuan was going to make full payment rather than taking a loan, he could save a lot of trouble. He only had to sign the purchase agreement.
He paid 7,320,000 yuan first due to insufficient funds in his card, and he would pay the remaining amount separately.
[You have spent 7,320,000 yuan. You have earned double cashback totaling 14,640,000 yuan. The amount has been transferred to your account.]
Upon seeing the cashback message, Chen Chuan smiled despite himself. ‘Finally, I own a home in my lifetime. Moreover, it’s a river-view apartment in Chongqing City.’
He paid up the remaining amount subsequently. Because of the cashback, he earned more money instead of losing it. Indeed, this was the power of [Double Expenditure Cash Return].
Chen Chuan exited the sales office and met Ziyue, Yaoyao, and the other girls. At that point, the girls were not aware that the guy in front of them had become a homeowner overnight.
They headed back to Jiaotong University to drop Ziyue and the girls there.
Yaoyao then returned the car together with Chen Chuan.
Soon after, the two of them took a taxi and headed directly to the dormitory where the senior, who destroyed Ziyue’s cell phone, lived.
Although Yaoyao had criticized the senior’s behavior fiercely, her pace slackened when she reached the male dormitory.
“Ahem, you… Watch out when you’re upstairs. Just consider the matter on its merits. Hurry back and don’t pick a fight. I’ll be waiting for you downstairs. If you’re still not back in half an hour, I’ll call the police,” said Yaoyao.
“Alright.” Chen Chuan entered the dormitory alone.
It was an ordinary male dormitory with an atmosphere that was familiar to Chen Chuan.
He walked along the corridor with his new black leather Prada shoes. The pitter-patter of the shoes on the floor could be heard.
As soon as Chen Chuan found the senior’s dormitory room, he pushed the door open. “Li Bowu?”
Whiz!
A guy, who was 1.9 meters tall, got off the lower bunk near the door and stood up. He completely blocked the light behind the door.
Chen Chuan asked, “It’s you, huh? I’m here to find out about Ziyue’s cell phone.”
“Who are you?” The bulky guy asked in a deep voice.
“Her brother,” replied Chen Chuan.
Bowu stared coldly at Chen Chuan with slanted eyes. He remained silent, showing an intimidating face.
Chen Chuan reckoned that the little girl must have cried on the spot with fear when she had been hit by such a bulky guy. Furthermore, it must have been painful given that Ziyue was petite.
“You’re the one who destroyed Ziyue’s phone, aren’t you?” Chen Chuan continued to ask, then he turned on his cell phone to record.
Bowu’s face became grim after he noticed that Chen Chuan was recording him. He merely stared at Chen Chuan without saying a word.
Upon realizing his expression, Chen Chuan stopped recording and swung his phone in front of the guy. “Fine, I’ll stop recording for now. I wanted to solve this issue using a proper method. From your uncooperative manner, I think I got it. I’ll tell you the solution straight away then. The phone screen costs 3,000 yuan, so you either buy a new phone or transfer 3,000 yuan to me. You also have to compensate for Ziyue’s nose injury, but she’ll undergo a nose examination first. If there’s no condition arising from the injury, just pay 2,000 yuan for tonics. If there is, I’ll recalculate the compensation.”
“Tsk, what a joke. Who do you think you are, man?” Bowu asked in a low, muffled voice.
“Why are you keeping quiet? Speak more while you can. Every minute is valuable to me. I’ve got no time to fuss with you about it. You come up with a solution then. How do you want to solve it? Quick,” said Chen Chuan.
“Who are you rowing with?” Bowu glared.
“Bowu, what’s the matter?” A few of Bowu’s housemates asked simultaneously.
“Nothing.” Bowu waved his housemates away.
“I’m asking you about the phone. Can’t you just tell me exactly how you plan to solve this?” asked Chen Chuan.
“But who are you having a fierce row with?” Bowu looked away from Chen Chuan in contempt. He then turned around and continued lying on his bed. He took out his cell phone and played with it.
Chen Chuan walked toward the guy’s bed and stood beside it. He stretched both hands and took hold of the guy’s phone lightly.
Due to the previous upgrade of the vermillion fruit, Chen Chuan’s body had made a breakthrough in the human race. He broke the phone into pieces without much force.
“Damn, you f*cking…” Bowu suddenly sat upright at the sight of the scene.
Bang!
Before the guy could sit properly, Chen Chuan punched him in the nasal bone, and his nose spurted blood. Chen Chuan then beat him while tugging at his hair.
Chen Chuan said, “Bowu, I wouldn’t mind if the damage to Ziyue’s cell phone was minimal. However, the screen is broken, and the phone can’t be used anymore. It’s not right to let her bear responsibility. I’m giving you one more chance. Tell me how you plan to settle this.”
Covering his bleeding nose, Bowu sat on the bed and glared at Chen Chuan.
Nobody else in the dormitory said a word.
Chen Chuan dragged Bowu down from the bed, making him stand on the floor.
