I Have A Computer in my Brain - Chapter 50
Chapter 50: On the Way Home
There was a bridge to cross the river. If one went to the starport, one would definitely pass by this place.
As Song Junming watched the pedestrians come and go on the bridge, a slight uneasiness gradually emerged in his heart. Even he wasn’t sure why he felt that way. If he used the power of a planet to surround a mere Lin Yun, would he still be able to escape?
Subconsciously, Song Junming regarded himself as Lin Yun and concocted a possible escape route.
“Oh no!”
Seemingly having thought of something, Song Junming couldn’t help but shout, with blue light shining from his eyes. Then, he dialed the phone number of the Blue Snow Planet Police Station.
Soon, Ren Xue appeared before him.
“What’s wrong? Do you already have a lead on Lin Yun?” Ren Xue asked with a calm face.
Song Junming looked anxious and frowned as he said, “Master, I’m afraid Lin Yun has escaped.”
“What did you say?” Ren Xue’s face turned pale and asked coldly, “How did he escape?”
Song Junming looked helpless and answered respectfully, “We missed one thing in our calculations. He doesn’t need to leave this planet through the starport. He can easily leave by hijacking a small spaceship. I just contacted the Blue Snow Planet General Police Station and learned that a total of three repair shop thefts occurred last night. One of them happened near the Blue Dragon Gang. It’s highly likely that Lin Yun was responsible.”
Ren Xue’s expression grew colder and colder while Song Junming told him about it. He slowly asked, “What type of spaceship was it that Lin Yun hijacked?”
Song Junming replied in a panic, “The repair shop lost a mini egg-shaped spaceship as well as a mecha. If nothing went wrong, Lin Yun should be in that mini spaceship.”
“You’re too naive. That mini spaceship must be a distraction.”
Ren Xue snorted coldly, and his eyes seemed like cold ice. He said, “Just because Lin Yun doesn’t have enough Physical Strength and Spiritual Strength, it doesn’t mean that he can’t pilot the mecha through the universe. Since he was able to set up a distraction through Ma Li to divert our attention to the starport, he’ll be able to set up the distraction again so that we divert our attention to that cosmic spaceship.”
Ren Xue’s eyes twitched slightly. Song Junming knew that this Planet Master who was in charge of Blue Snow Planet was very furious.
“Of course, it’s possible that both the mecha and the spaceship are distractions. Maybe Lin Yun didn’t leave at all. Therefore, don’t relax your search. I, on the other hand, would like to see who would be so bold as to flee my planet piloting a mecha!”
After Ren Xue finished speaking, a destructive aura erupted from him. Song Junming who was close by him bore the brunt and fell to his knees under the pressure of the aura. In his eyes, it was as if Ren Xue had turned into an immense never-melting iceberg, and the tremendous pressure pressed down hard on his shoulders.
In the next moment, Ren Xue disappeared. Song Junming slowly stood up and heaved a sigh of relief.
Within just a few seconds, Ren Xue had appeared outside the atmosphere of Blue Snow Planet. He stood steadily in the endless dark universe, unaffected by the harsh environment of vacuum and weightlessness.
“I’ll see where you’ve gone.”
As Ren Xue said that, he closed his eyes and merged his Spirit into the entire Blue Snow Planet. Gradually, his pulses matched the pulses of the entire planet. It was as if the entire planet was constantly changing in accordance with the pulse of Ren Xue’s Spirit.
Soon, Ren Xue opened his eyes and said to himself, “The mecha has gone toward the Fire Planet, while the spaceship flew towards Earth. Lin Yun, your distraction is very brilliant. However, you still have miscalculated. The mecha can’t fly without a pilot. On the other hand, the spaceship can cruise automatically. Hence, you can only be in the mecha.”
Thinking of this, Ren Xue flew towards Fire Planet. His target was the fleeing mecha.
Blending into the fluctuations of the stars, Ren Xue’s speed far exceeded that of an ordinary mecha. When he encountered a meteorite or stream of space junk, he didn’t dodge or avoid them at all, fighting through them with a physical body comparable to the stars.
After a long time, Ren Xue’s Spirit finally sensed the mecha.
“What?!”
What Ren Xue’s spirit saw in the cockpit of the mecha was a muscular, bearded man comfortably eating crêpe and garlic.
“I’ve been tricked by this kid again!” Ren Xue was furious. Ever since he had become a Planet Refiner, he never had a huge fury fill his chest and seem to have ignited his entire soul.
“Lin Yun, if I catch you, I will definitely let you die a terrible death!”
This almighty person shouted loudly in the empty universe. If it wasn’t for the fact that the vacuum environment couldn’t transmit sound, the surrounding celestial bodies would have trembled violently because of his roar.
At this moment, Lin Yun was hesitating over a decision: whether to return to Earth or a nearby human planet.
What Lin Yun wanted most at the moment was to return to Earth. However, Earth was too far away and his journey there would be easily intercepted. Going back to a nearby human planet was a shorter journey and relatively less dangerous. However, it would be even more difficult to get home after going to an unfamiliar human planet.
“Forget it. I’ll wait until I’ve reached the human domain and consult my father from Skynet before I make a decision.” Lin Yun sat in the cosmic spaceship, quietly waiting for the next spatial jump.
After several spatial jumps, it showed on the spaceship screen that he had reached the human sphere of influence. Lin Yun was delighted, and he didn’t hesitate to access Skynet.
Suddenly, countless messages appeared like snowflakes. There was Feng Ke’s, Li Tian’s, his father’s, and many others. Lin Yun quickly opened his father’s messages, but he saw that his father’s familiar face seemed to have gotten older.
His father only said faintly, “Son, no matter what happens to you, I’ll be waiting for you to come home.”
Come home!
Lin Yun felt touched by his father’s strong affection. He quickly replied, “Everything is fine. I’m on my way home.”
Lin Yun then opened the other messages one after another. Li Tian still asked playfully, “Little brother, it doesn’t matter where you’re at. Don’t make me lose my reputation. Come back when you have time and visit me.”
Dongfang Ruoxue’s message was very simple, with just one word: “Sorry.”
After reading the other messages, Lin Yun focused his gaze on Feng Ke’s message. His heart was plagued by an elusive contradiction. He wanted to open Feng Ke’s message, but he didn’t dare to do so. He was afraid that her message would viciously shatter his beautiful dream.
At this point, Lin Yun still wasn’t sure if Feng Ke liked him.
Lin Yun took a deep breath. He quietly calmed his emotions and slowly opened Feng Ke’s message.
Feng Ke’s face was still as lovely and beautiful as ever. She smiled at Lin Yun but couldn’t hide the sadness in her eyes.
“Do you remember when I laughed at you for buying me ice-cream? Actually, being a phoenix, I have an aversion to all low-temperature food. However, it seems like you won’t have the chance to treat me to hotpot.”
Hearing this, Lin Yun couldn’t help but smile. If he wanted to treat a phoenix to hotpot, then there was definitely no need to worry about the fire not being strong enough.
Feng Ke paused and continued, “The power of my family is not something that you and I can resist. I can only follow the established path and be forced to walk until I die for my family. Lin Yun, don’t come looking for me. Take some time to think of me, okay? Just like how I think of you when I’m sad, you won’t be so sad…”
The message came to an abrupt end. However, Lin Yun’s heart was like an overturned bottle of five flavors, feeling all kinds of emotions.
He was excited because he had finally truly heard Feng Ke’s feelings for him with his own ears. However, he was grieved because of the great resistance imposed between them.
“Three more years!” In Lin Yun’s heart, a thought kept popping up. “No matter what, in three years, I will go find you and take you away, or I might die by your side.”
Lin Yun clenched his fists. His body trembled, and his eyes closed. “This is the promise from me, Lin Yun, to you, Feng Ke!”
Thinking of this, Lin Yun searched for the best human training ground for mecha warriors on Skynet. He wanted to enter the Human Alliance and become a mecha warrior. If he obtained a mecha, he would be able to soar freely in the universe and would possess the ability to travel to the Phoenix Race’s territory.
Skynet’s data showed that the most elite human mecha warriors made up the three units: the Royal Knights, Astral Rippers, and Human Mecha Regiment. Among them, the Royal Knights were only accountable to the Human Council and did not recruit externally through formal channels. The Astral Rippers, an organization similar to a mercenary union, mainly recruited idle mecha warriors. The only way for Lin Yun to rely on formal channels to obtain mecha warrior training and qualify as a mecha warrior was to enter the Human Mecha Regiment.
The Human Mecha Regiment was the most elite unit in the Human Alliance army. Its combat arms were all composed of mecha warriors. For every ten mecha warriors, they formed a squad. The captains were called mecha knights. For every ten mecha knights, they formed a battalion. The leaders of the battalion were called the mecha gods. Dongfang Sheng was just an ordinary mecha warrior of the Human Mecha Regiment. If Lin Yun entered the mecha troop, both his and his father’s lives would change drastically.
However, the mecha warrior assessment was very harsh. Firstly, he needed to have a Level 6 Physical Strength and Spiritual Strength. Secondly, he needed to be assessed on the qualifications of a reserve mecha warrior. Lastly, he had to pilot a mecha to defeat the ten reserve mecha warriors. Only then would he be able to turn into full-fledged mecha warrior.
Lin Yun was browsing through the information about mecha warriors when he suddenly became shocked!
