Chapter 22: Untouched By Alcohol
The servant was so shocked by his demeanor that cold sweat started pouring down her back.
Just when the servant thought that he was going to explode and throw out the naughty little girl, Lu Junhan did the unthinkable. He looked away and repeated sternly, “Listen to me and go to bed. I still have lots of things to do, and I can’t have you next to me all the time.”
The little girl lowered her head and pouted grumpily. Her eyes were filled with reluctance, and her voice was equally so, “… Alright. But daddy, you have to come up as soon as possible, okay? Lili wants to sleep together with you.”
Lu Junhan was in a rush to do things, so he didn’t pay much attention to what she had to say. He lowered his gaze and looked at the time on his watch. He didn’t even look up when he responded to her request.
Seeing that he had agreed to it, the little girl became so overjoyed that she kissed him on the cheek when he least expected this to happen.
The man was stunned and his face was devoid of any emotions. But the little girl knew what was going on, so she quickly ran up the stairs, fearing that he would punish her for doing such a thing. But she still didn’t forget to say happily, “Daddy, I have given you all my good luck! Remember to come back quickly!”
The soft and warm feeling continued to linger on his face. He could still smell the sweet milk-like fragrance of a child.
Was this the good luck she was talking about?
The man looked at the little girl as she hopped up the stairs. His lips formed into a smile.
“…How childish,” he murmured.
He never believed in luck.
Even the Red Koi that symbolized good luck was just another fish that could be eaten.
But it seems like the little thing was braver than he thought. Good thing she was swift on her feet this time, if not…
He narrowed his eyes slightly and watched as the girl disappeared from his view as she entered a room. Only then did he turn around and prepare to leave.
When he did so, one of his guests, who was waiting for his chance to talk to Lu Junhan wasn’t able to stop in time.
The wine from the glass he was holding splashed onto Lu Junhan’s clothes.
The guest’s face was pale from sheer shock. His body trembled as he apologized profusely, “Young… Young Master Lu… It was an accident…”
Visibly nervous, he hastily took out a handkerchief, intending to wipe the wine off of his clothes.
But he froze up in the next second.
Considering how close they were standing, all of the alcohol should have been on Lu Junhan’s clothes. Even if he managed to jump back in time, he’d still have parts of his clothes stained by the wine.
However…
Lu Junhan’s clothes were spotless. There wasn’t even a drop of wine on him. All the content of his glass had been poured onto the ground, with not a single drop landing on Lu Junhan!
What kind of luck was that?!
Thank goodness!
He was able to dodge it like that?
Lu Junhan was also quite surprised. When he saw the wine splashing towards him, he knew that he wouldn’t be able to dodge it in time. So, he simply stepped aside with a frown appearing subconsciously on his face.
But there wasn’t a drop of alcohol on him.
This could only be explained by luck!
He wasn’t sure why, but he suddenly remembered what the little girl told him, “Daddy, I have given you all my luck!”
Luck, huh…
The man narrowed his eyes as he continued staring at the split wine on the floor. No one was able to understand what he was thinking at the moment.
…
There weren’t any children’s clothes in their mansion. However, because Lu Junhan had explicitly announced that he would be the one adopting Lu Li, she was now officially the Lu family’s Little Miss.
The servants and bodyguards working here rushed forth to pamper her well.
While they waited for her bathtub to be filled, new clothes continued flowing in from the outside.
The butler felt that the clothes were too cheap. He deemed that they weren’t of high enough quality and that the designs were too aged. They weren’t worthy of the Lu Family’s most prized little princess, but Lu Li herself loved these clothes nonetheless.
She grabbed a white sleeping gown with several Red Koi on it and happily ran into the bathroom.
Lu Li loved the water.
In the three hundred years she spent living in the Celestial World previously, most of that time had been spent underwater.
