Chapter 27: Declaring War Against Grandfather
After Manager Chen and Vice President Liu had left the Lu Residence, the bodyguard finally said, “Mr. Chen, did you realize how much Young Master Lu has changed? He’s no longer as extreme as he was in the past.”
While it was a virtue to be as vicious as possible in the business world, taking things too far wasn’t a good thing either.
Mr. Chen seemed to have thought things through more than he did. He replied, “It’s good that the Young Master has changed. We have to thank the little miss for that. In the past, the Young Master was as cold as a machine, and he seemed to be disinterested in almost everything. Young Master Lu appears to have become somewhat more humane following the appearance of his little girl.”
When talking about Lu Li, the bodyguard recalled the moment when Lu Li wanted to stab the traitors. Choking up slightly, he said, “As expected of Young Master Lu’s daughter. Despite how soft and cuddly she looks, I didn’t expect that she’d be as fierce as Young Master Lu.”
When he realized that Mr. Chen wasn’t responding to what he said, he turned around to discover that he was fidgeting with his mobile phone.
There were several photos, and they were all of Vice President Liu and Manager Chen’s humiliating poses on the ground.
Mr. Chen sent these photos to an unfamiliar number.
Bodyguard, “You are…”
“Since the Old Master has sent his men to steal from us, it is only right that we retaliate! I have faith that Young Master Lu isn’t someone that would simply wait around to be killed.”
Mr. Chen flashed him a graceful smile and then switched off his phone. It was an ominous smile before he said, “These photos, and the ones from before, would serve as our casus belli for declaring war on the Old Master.”
The Old Master was Young Master Lu’s biological grandfather. In other families, the grandfather would help out his grandchildren from time to time. This did not apply to the Lu Family. The two were instead, constantly in a state of hostility with each other.
Old Master Lu was cruel, but Young Master Lu was much crueler!
When Old Master Lu was young, he was already a cold-blooded and emotionless man. He was a high-ranking official and possessed great prestige. It was only natural that he was well-known throughout the country.
He retired from the spotlight now that his age called for retirement. Be that as it may, his style was still of iron and blood. He wouldn’t spare a smile, even to his own children or grandchildren.
He was stubborn and rigid. The only thing he believed in was a Spartan style of education.
When Young Master Lu’s parents had passed away in a car accident, the person that had the most right to adopt Young Master Lu and Lady Anran was him.
However, the Old Master didn’t care about them at all. He let them fend for themselves in the hostile environment they were forced to stumble into.
He said that if they couldn’t even handle such little hardship, they would be unworthy to be recognized as members of the Lu Family. Worse, he said that they should just die earlier, as the Lu Family wouldn’t accept garbage like them!
In the end, it was Ms. Song that couldn’t bear seeing what was happening and adopted her elder brother’s two children.
The Lu Corporation was built single-handedly by Young Master Lu’s father.
Unfortunately, his father had passed away too early and Young Master Lu was too young to take over the reins. This gave Old Master Lu the opportunity to infiltrate the company, and nearly half of the people working there were switched out with his own supporters.
Now that the Young Master had grown up and returned as the Lu Corporation’s leader, the first thing that he needed to do was to expel all of Old Master Lu’s personnel!
However, the Old Master was a stubborn old bastard that refused to give up. It wasn’t a surprise that he challenged the Young Master head on!
If you kick out my people, then I would keep sending my people in!
However, they had already reached the stage where most of the Old Master’s men had been purged from the company. There were still a handful of individuals that were too well-concealed, so in the company, they remained till this day.
The Old Master, of course, couldn’t bear to wait that long. Thus, he made the call to send the pair over to retrieve the company’s secrets!
The Young Master was so vicious that he wasn’t even concerned that the Old Master might die from being triggered by his actions. Each time his grandfather’s plans were foiled, he’d make sure that photos were sent to him.
His personal assistant, Mr. Chen, had seemingly grown accustomed to doing this.
…
When they were on their way back to her bedroom, the little girl insisted on sleeping with Lu Junhan. She kept insisting that he was in danger and that she could protect him.
Lu Junhan said nothing about it when he threw her onto her bed before slamming the door shut.
What followed was the loud “bang” of the door being slammed shut. It was cold and there was no hesitation when he did it.
“…”
Lu Li remained silent.
Lu Junhan went back to his room and took a shower. It was only moments after putting on his bathrobe that he heard knocks coming from the door of his room. It was the butler.
“Young Master Lu.”
