Chapter 207 – “There will be no need for that. I respect the organizer’s decision.” (1)
When the young man pointed out the fairness bluntly, many of the judges wiped their sweat away secretly.
All of the sudden, the atmosphere in the office became very solemn, confrontational, almost.
“That’s not possible, our competition……”
Before the lead person could finish what he was saying, Sheng Xiuyan cut him off again.
“I will find evidence pointing to whether this competition is fair or not. By the same token, I hope that you will also be able to provide proof why you say that our topic is irrational.” Sheng Xiuyan’s tone was still nonchalant. Nevertheless, the more nonchalant his tone was, the more confident he came across.
Dong Mingming was stunned already. De, Deity Xiu was, after all, Deity Xiu. That was so cool!
Ooooooh, she was about to turn into a fan of his!
Gu Xi, on the other hand, was sweating secretly.
She subtly tugged at Sheng Xiuyan’s arm and gestured for him to stop talking for the time being.
He had made his point clear already. Escalating the matters further would just make matters worse and put then in an even more vulnerable spot.
Seeing that Sheng Xiuyan had stopped talking, Gu Xi turned back toward the judges and said clearly, “As fellow teachers suggested that our topic had issues with regards to its rationality and feasibility and that we did not agree with that assessment. As such, can you give us a chance to proof ourselves?”
Gu Xi’s request was very reasonable.
The lead man gave it some thought and nodded reluctantly.
Seeing that, Gu Xi brought up another question, “In that case, can we keep our grades if we are able to proof that our topic does not have rationality issue?”
The man in the front looked troubled when he heard Gu Xi’s words.
Came to think about it. They only said that the topic was irrational without any proof.
If it wasn’t easy to prove that it was irrational, it would only be more difficult to prove that it was. Not to mention that they only had one week’s time.
At least, he didn’t feel that the three junior high school students in front of him would be able to come up with any convincing proof on such a complicated topic.
Thinking about that, the man gritted his teeth and nodded, “If you can come up with sufficient proof, the organizer will reinstate your qualifications and grades. But you only have one week’s time. You must provide the proof before the next round of demonstration.”
Gu Xi wasn’t going to say any more once she had received the definitive answer from the man. She tugged at the two next to her and took off.

After leaving the office of the organizer and inside the stairwell, Dong Mingming couldn’t help but started griping.
“This is too odd, right? They said our topic was quite good previously. How did they flip 180 degrees all of a sudden?
“Besides, I don’t feel that our topic really had the issues that they mentioned!” said Dong Mingming, feeling unjust.
Sheng Xiuyan agreed with her. Looking over at Gu Xi, he said definitely, “The design of our topic is sound.
“Don’t worry about what they say.” He maintained his own judgement. The problem lied with the fairness of the competition.
Sensing that Sheng Xiuyan was encouraging her, Gu Xi nodded and smiled at him. “I think so too.”
Then came another question.
“Why’s the organizer targeting us?” asked Dong Mingming, looking disturbed. She didn’t feel that they had offended anymore. Besides, it wasn’t right to say it, but with Gu Xi and Sheng Xiuyan’s family background, there weren’t a lot of people out there that they couldn’t offend.
Gu Xi shook her head. She had no idea either.

What they didn’t know was that those among the organizer didn’t see eye to eye either.
As soon as Gu Xi and her team had just stepped out of the office, a heated argument erupted inside.
The two who were actively involved in the argument was Teacher Yu from the preliminary team and the vice team lead who was currently heading the group.
“Ruling their topic not meeting our requirements is unreasonable in and of itself!” Teacher Yu questioned stiffly.
She had been following this team since the very beginning and had high hopes for them. Naturally, she was very unhappy with the organizer’s evaluation of the project.
