Chapter 212 – “Haven’t I already said that this topic is unrealistic? What happened here?” (2)
“I think this project has a lot of future.”
“Yes, I have a feeling that this product will be commercially available within 3-5 years.”
“And it will be well received right away.”
“It is, indeed, a good project.”
All the experts in the field were awed that a few junior high school students could come up with such an excellent topic. At the same time, they also couldn’t help but started a “separate” discussion on the side.
Not everyone had heard of Liu Dehing criticizing a specific topic of the Youth Innovation Competition but still a decent amount of people did.
As such, what Gu Shao was doing here made many recalled the Youth Innovation Competition incident.
“This is the exact topic that Professor Liu had strongly criticized as unrealistic and ridiculous. I heard that the team was almost disqualified.”
“What NTN is doing here looked a lot like they were trying to provide proof for the topic and faceslap Liu Dehing.”
“That’s my feeling as well.”
You said this idea is unrealistic? Okay, I’ll just make it happen and then we can talk about reasonableness.
Truth was, this faceslapping proof was way too hardcore.
The other person that was mercilessly faceslapped was Hu Pei, the lead person on the Youth Innovation Competition.
As much as his cheeks were smarting, Old Boss Hu must admit that Gu Shao’s “proof” was highly effective.
While having very complicated feelings, Old Boss Hu was also in awe. He was, once again, stunned by NTN’s abilities and gained a newfound understanding that the “ceiling” set by NTN was way higher than what outsiders like them could even begin to imagine.
What they had thought was impossible, NTN was able to accomplish in just a week.
“NTN is, after all, NTN. It is the place where the elites gather……” lamented the manager working under Old Boss Hu.
Pausing, the manager looked over at Old Boss Hu and asked, “Well, this this happening. Should we head back and reinstate the grades for Gu Xi’s team?”
“What’s the point of reinstating at this point? Let’s just regrade it from scratch.” Re-evaluating one project three times during competition would surely made them look bad when words got out.
But what other choices did they have?
With the prototype that NTN had developed, they had only demonstrated it to technology competition organizers or individuals. All things considered, NTN had already respected the rules in the field and preserved some of their reputation.
As such, they couldn’t not reciprocate the favor.
Sighing, Old Boss Hu waved his hand and said, “We should be focusing on how to make a public announcement, what we are going to say, and how to apologize to the candidates.
“Be ready to manage our public relations. We will need to suppress any negative publicity. We must be certain that years of Youth Innovation Competition’s reputation is not tarnished.”
“Okay.”

Old Boss Hu had acted very quickly.
It had only been half a day and the team of expert judges had been switched and reorganized. The new judges’ team re-evaluated the topic one more time. THIs time, they did not only re-evaluated Gu Xi’s team’s topic, but all of topics that had entered into the competition. Then, the results from the third and final evaluation were posted onto the organizer’s official website.
In addition to that, the organizer had also explained themselves and apologized for their previous mistakes on their webpage.
All of their actions had successfully preserved Youth Innovation Competition’s reputation.

Inside the CEO office of NTN.
Xu Fei reported all actions that Youth Innovation Competition had taken to Gu Shao. When he was done, he even added his unsolicited comment, “They were speedy in their response.”
Having heard that, Gu Shao only acknowledged him expressionlessly and did not comment any further.
“In addition, I had taken a look at the new scores after the re-evaluation.” Xu Fei added, “Liu Dehing’s grandson’s team had gone from #2 to #3 after the re-evaluation by the experts.”
It was, after all, a solid topic. The new experts were just being more cautious during the re-evaluation.
Xu Fei, however, felt sorry for the Youth Innovation Competition organizer. He worried that they would need to readjust the grades and ranking for the fourth time shortly.
