Tianchuang Competition comprised many rounds. The result of each round would not be made available immediately; as such, Gu Xi and the others took off from the venue after the event was over.
Gu Shao was not yet home by the time Gu Xi was home.
When Gu Shao returned home later that day, he saw a certain girl standing by the door looking at him gloomily the minute he opened the door.
Gu Shao found it comical when he saw the look on her.
“I can almost hang a pot of oil from your pouty lips,” said Gu Shao as he walked over and drummed gently on the tip of Gu Xi’s nose.
Gu Xi took a step back, covered up her nose, and said nothing. She, however, continued to look gloomily at Gu Shao.
“Are we unhappy?” asked Gu Shao.
“No……” Just a little disappointed.
Even though she understood that Gu Shao might have other things to take care of and that she should not ask anything of Gu Shao. Nevertheless, she had searched for Gu Shao from the start of the competition all the way till the very end. She couldn’t help but felt a little disappointed when she didn’t see him anywhere.
Alright, so she might be a little unhappy.
Even so, when Gu Shao walked inside, Gu Xi still walked up and took his jacket from him.
Looking at the aggrieved look on Gu Xi, Gu Shao knew that he shouldn’t tease her for much longer. He chuckled, rubbed her on her head, and said, “I did see your competition.”
“Huh?” Taken aback a little, Gu Xi looked at Gu Shao, surprised.
“I was in the control room,” explained Gu Shao.
Pausing, he asked, “Did Gu Yanlin drop you off?”
“Mmhmm.” Gu Xi nodded.
Gu Xi had yet to realized that Gu Shao knew all along that Gu Yanlin was in the competition. After all, she only found out today that her own Big Brother was on the same team as herself.
When Gu Shao brought up Gu Yanlin, Gu Xi only assumed that Gu Shao had seen Gu Yanlin during the competition and believed in what he said.
“You came to see my competition? Which control room were you in? How come I never saw you?” asked Gu Xi both pleasantly surprised and feeling odd.
“The control room of the organizer.” The main control room was located away from the main hall.
“Hah?”
Seeing at the surprised look on Gu Xi, Gu Shao was just contemplating how to explain to Gu Xi the relationship between the organizer of Tianchuang Competition and NTN when his phone suddenly went off. It was a call from Wang Wu.
“Sir, there’s something that I need to tell you.”
“Go ahead.”
“It’s about Mr. Qiao Luo. The men that Mr. Qiao had left behind to take care of the Oceanic Transportation Monitoring System ran into some troubles after signing the agreement with the transportation company.”
“What kind of troubles?” asked Gu Shao.
“They were attacked by some unknown individuals. They even told them that Mr. Qiao was a scam artist. Our people were able to subdue and arrest a few of them. We’ve looked into them. Most of them were jobless hooligans and some had just gotten out prison and yet to get a job. They were paid by the higher ups for the drama today.”
“What else did you find out?” asked Gu Shao.
“They seemed to have something to do with the Lin family in the past. But, as we dug in some more, we noticed that they seemed to have been arranged by Song Kexin.”
Gu Shao looked over at Gu Xi reflexively when he heard the name “Song Kexin”. He only spoke again after he was certain that Gu Xi did not hear their conversation, “Go on.”
“From the surveillance footage, Lisa was their target.” Pausing, Wang Wu shared his speculation. “As such, it was unlikely that this was the idea of Lin Yize or Gu Yaobai. It seemed more like it had to do with the grudges between Lin Yize, Song Kexin, and Lisa.”
“Okay, I get it.” Gu Shao responded. After some more thoughts, he added, “Add more people in watching over this. We must ensure the safe completion of our project.”
“Yes, Sir.” Wang Wu got what Gu Shao was saying. Gu Shao wanted to make sure that everything went well as far as the Oceanic Transportation Monitoring System was concerned. As for the “personal matters” between the others, that had nothing to do with them.

“What’s the matter?” Gu Xi finally asked after Gu Shao had hung up on the phone.
“Nothing much.” Having said that, Gu Xi added, “Go work on your homework.”
Gu Xi, “……”
