I Only Treat Villains - Chapter 2
‘Has it been three months since the last person?’
I looked at the two men in front of my house from a distance with cold eyes.
Someone standing beside me suddenly chuckled.
It is Andrew, the owner of the bar next door.
“Hey, Syrinx. Is it happening again?”
I looked at him and said, “I barely got back from my shop. What’s this?”
“Are you making fake jewelry this time too?”
“Ah. Well, that’s right. How long have you been beside me?”
“Hey, it seems like you got another visitor again as soon as you came back?” Andrew changed the topic and nodded at the two men in front at my house.
The man who was knocking on the door now sitting on the floor… with his eyes closed. The man next to him seemed to have passed out. While he was waiting for me to come.
Oh, my god.
“Who the hell is that guy?” I asked Andrew.
“Including the previous patients… it should be the fifth time in total?”
I showed him one of my finger.
“……maybe that’s the sixth?”
I nodded. Yes, this was already my sixth patient.
My head was already exploding, so I thought I should say something.
The owner of the bar, Andrew, kept his voice down as he made fun of me.
“Oh, it’s really amazing. Why don’t you change your job? You will make a fortune.”
“Don’t speak nonsense. This pisses me even more,” I hissed at him, ceasing my eyebrows in frown.
“Why? You should try being healer.”
“Are you crazy? Don’t you know that a healer must have a national certificate to legally heal people?”
“What are you going to do when you’re stuck in a position like this?”
“Illegal treatment is a big problem because I’ll receive death penalty if they find out that I’ve been healing people without a certificate.”
This is an era in which the temple is as powerful as the imperial family.
“Moreover, they say if you are targeted by the temple recently, you’ll come out breathless.”
“You’re gonna die?”
“Will it be an easy death? There won’t be any limbs left in the body.”
It was a time when the power structure was chaotic.
There were special forces that existed in the world now.
Like magic and alchemy to create new substances.
It had the power to destroy in the name of God.
Among those who had such abilities, there were some who had the ability to heal people.
They were all given the name ‘the Healer’.
And there is:
Healer, Wizards, and Alchemists.
Priest uses healing powers.
Other people who also has the power to healer uses items to aid them, such as spirits, stone, etc.
It is a title that encompasses all special talents who can heal.
And the temple placed all of this under its jurisdiction.
I clicked my tongue and turned my head.
“Is it just the temple? Even if I work for Marquis Forsetti, who is close to the temple, it’s still a death penalty.”
“And I am sure, with my luck, death isn’t far away from me.”
The healer will definitely make a fortune as long as they can heal people.
However, unlike the other high-rewarding professions, the healers had to register in the temple.
Or else they would be called illegal healers.
In other words, if someone pretends to be a healer, without a license, the main branch will take him away for a good lengthy torture, whether at the temple or to the marquis who has good relationship with the temple.
And most of all, I like my current work of appraising and selling goods, even if it’s a dangerous job…
This is something I want to do.
Andrew, who was still standing beside me, shrugged his shoulders.
“Well…still.”
Then he smiled with a wink.
“You’re going to pick up those guys, right?”
“Maybe, but I don’t call it ‘picking up’.” I wasn’t sure about what to do next yet.
It’s a good expression for someone to misunderstand. Andrew smirked and turned his back quickly.
“Oops, there’s a customer inside. I’m off!”
Then he disappeared into the bar, and I felt uneasy.
‘Oh no!’
Andrew’s laughter caused the man who is in front of my house, to turn his head towards me.
‘Damn it, Andrew!’
I will have to treat these two youngsters. Letting out a sigh, I walked out of the shadows.
