I Only Treat Villains - Chapter 29
“Oh hey, Syrinx.” (Andrew)
Andrew waved his hand.
“Is something going on?” (Andrew)
He asked calmly.
“Always.”
I waved at Andrew carelessly and went across the hallway behind the shop.
“Do you have any food?” (Syrinx)
“A little bit of bread crust and a few potatoes?” (Andrew)
“Give me that.” (Syrinx)
I said so and threw a jewel in my pocket.
Andrew gave me a small envelope with a cheesy and screaming face.
“Do you need any information?”
“No. I need to go right now.”
“Okay, then the payment is the same. I’ll give you a lot of special services!”
Heimdahl frowned at Andrew’s behavior, but there was no time to explain.
“Hey, you don’t look to be doing so good. Are you serious?” (Andrew)
“Yeah, a little.” (Syrinx)
“Uh…” (Andrew)
Andrew scratched his cheek.
“Well, I hope you survive this time as well.” (Andrew)
“Yes, wish me luck as always.” (Syrinx)
He cautiously added that he would be sad if a good neighbor disappeared. My face warmed up slightly, and I smiled.
“Oh, if you fail and I find your cold corpse, I’m going to blame that brat, Thorce. Definitely”
“…Aigoo..”
Andrew groaned sadly, but he wasn’t told he would.
“Syrinx, is this about….a business trip you’ve been on before?” (Andrew)
“Why do you ask that?” (Syrinx)
“Oh, don’t be wary. I won’t reveal this even if you’re dead.” (Andrew)
“That’s even worse.” (Syrinx)
“Hahaha—” (Andrew)
This is where I take care of my own life.
“I can’t help you, but… I’ll tell you something useful.” (Andrew)
Andrew’s house and the passage that followed were also means of paying him a fortune. He was a merchant for money.
“If you’re out of district 1, walk straight in the 8 o’clock direction. Don’t bend.”
“Okay.”
That was pretty good advice, coming from Andrew.
I left his shop after hearing the last advice. Heimdahl was right behind me.
“Wait a minute.” (Heimdahl)
As I walked for a while, his long legs blocked me in the dark. Heimdahl, who stopped me, lowered his head.
“I’d like to hear an explanation, Miss.” (Heimdahl)
I looked up at that face in the shadow.
It was unexpected.
‘I thought he’d leave as soon as I left Andrew’s bar.’
However, when I saw the sweat on his chin, I immediately understood.
His body needs more rest after the treatment. He chose me to survive.
I turned my head away quickly.
“Miss.” (Heimdahl)
The entire time, he narrowed his eyes and pleaded with a soft, low voice.
“To escape a dangerous situation is wise, but don’t you think we should know why we’re escaping in the first place?” (Heimdahl)
A snake-like hand went down to my wrist and twisted together with my fingers.
“I might eat this ruthless lady who wouldn’t sate my curiosity, right here.” (Heimdahl)
He uttered the threat so softly that I thought I misheard him. However, when he looked up, his red eyes were very eye-catching.
“As I said, stolen goods.” (Syrinx)
I swallowed my breath quietly so that I wouldn’t get caught.
“Yes, that’s the problem. It isn’t everyday that I see someone who does illegal things like you, miss.” (Heimdahl)
He tilted his head.
“You seem unable to help yourself from handling stolen goods.” (Heimdahl)
“Yes, if someone hadn’t set a trap and given it to me.” (Syrinx)
I sighed lightly.
“Do you think it’s normal for the Knights of the district, the aristocracies’ private ones, and the Imperial Knights, to come running all of a sudden?” (Heimdahl)
The hand in my pocket contains the necklace called “Tears of Athlot.” This necklace is a hot commodity.
“It’s over.”
This necklace was a famous item that everyone in my country knew the moment they heard about it.
“Retailers usually have a hard time handling famous items because they would become heavily targeted.”
‘It’s obvious who did this.’
To be honest, for traps like this one, I don’t know what will happen unless I, myself, knowingly spring the trap.
People like us have to move without asking if the advance payment is correct.
“Isn’t this a place without morals?” (Syrinx)
“Morals? In the back alley? Then, are we being chased because we have morals?” (Heimdahl)
“You don’t have to be sarcastic… Okay, I understand.” (Syrinx)
