Chapter 7: Trash Weed Seed
There was not much bamboo juice and it was finished in a few mouthfuls.
Bai Xiaoshu smacked his lips and stretched out his bowl, indicating that he hadn’t drunk enough. “It tastes compatible with the jade liquid in the sky. Sister, I still want it.”
The chopsticks hit the young man’s hand. She would never show mercy to his younger brother. He had to fend for himself. “If you want to drink, go down the mountain and cut bamboo yourself.”
Bai Xiaoshu smiled and agreed.
Bai Caoshi took the empty clay bowl and rinsed it. she scooped chicken soup for everyone. The thighs were for her mother, and the wings were for Zhe Yu.
“It’s a pity that I don’t have wolfberries and yams,” Bai Caoshi muttered to herself. Chinese medicine emphasized that medicinal food came from the same source, unlike Western medicine which carries side effects. However, it didn’t matter. “I’ll go to town tomorrow to sell mushrooms and the rabbit and buy some household goods. Does our village have a car to go to town tomorrow?”
“From seven in the morning, the Jiang family’s ox cart will go to town,” Madam Bai Li replied.
The old Jiang family in the village earned a living by pulling carts and transporting vegetables. Everyone who took the cart paid three copper coins.
Bai Caoshi nodded and said, “Husband, are you going tomorrow?”
Zhe Yu’s spoon paused for a moment. Because he had drunk the hot chicken soup, his face was a little hot as he looked at Bai Caoshi.
After all, he was the male protagonist. He was really good-looking. Bai Caoshi smiled infatuatedly. “Let’s go to the medical center and prescribe some medicine.”
“Okay.”
Bai Xiaoshu suddenly raised his hand high and said slyly, “Sister, I, I, I’ll go too!”
“Tell me, do you want to go to town to play?” Bai Caoshi did not want her brother to go. The travel expenses were three copper coins. At the moment, she was being extremely frugal with money. In the future, when the conditions got better, it would be up to him.
Bai Xiaoshu ran to the water vat and took out a wooden bucket filled with eels. “Sister, you’re right. The eels are very fat this season. Can I go now?”
It was a good enough reason. If he went, he would be a laborer. However, Bai Caoshi still said sadly, “Xiaoshu, you’ve suffered today.”
Zhe Yu lowered his gaze and continued to drink his soup. In this impoverished family, the siblings were harmonious, and the family enjoyed the purest form of kinship.
Kinship was such a luxury for someone like him.

After dinner, Bai Caoshi gave some bones and meat to the wolf cub, Fu Bao, and brought a bowl of chicken soup to Yang Dali’s house.
When she got married, the Yang family gave her some millet. As the saying went, courtesy demands reciprocity.
The Yang family’s mud wall was not high, and communication in the village relied on shouting.
Soon, the door opened and a twelve or thirteen-year-old girl with two buns came out. She was the third daughter of the Yang family. Her name was this.
“Sister Bai, what’s wrong?”
Bai Caoshi waved the clay bowl in her hand. “I’m sending some chicken soup to your house. It’s especially fresh. Hurry up and get a bowl.”
In the village, one can hardly eat any meat. Third Young Lady Yang sniffed and said that it smelled so good, inviting Bai Caoshi into the courtyard.
Bai Caoshi refused. Her identity was more sensitive, so she shouldn’t cause trouble.
After delivering chicken soup to the Yang family, Bai Caoshi went to the Jiang family and asked them to reserve three seats.
**
Yang Dali’s wife, Madam Zheng, was very remorseful as she drank the chicken soup given by Bai Caoshi. She had previously objected to her husband hosting the marriage for the Bai Family.
“Bai Caoshi is a kind and benevolent child who knows her limits. We should get along with them in the future,” Yang Dali said.
Third Young Lady Yang’s eyes darted around. “Father, Sister Cao’er’s culinary skills are really good. I’ll ask her tomorrow.”
Madam Zheng glared at the third girl. She couldn’t bring herself to do it.

After everything was done, Bai Caoshi washed up and returned to her room. She couldn’t wait to communicate with the system about exchanging points for seeds.
Zhe Yu was already lying down, but he only occupied half of the bed. His back was facing her.
As usual, Bai Caoshi carried the blanket and spread it on the table. The table that used to creak was especially sturdy today, and it was a little shorter than before. It had been sawn off and maintained a uniform height.
Her heart felt warm as she said, “Young Master, thank you. This table is very good.”
Zhe Yu turned around and said calmly, “The table has become shorter. If you fall down in the middle of the night, it won’t hurt.”
Bai Caoshi: …
These words were a little annoying. She clenched her fists and cursed in her heart. You’re handsome, fine, you’re right.
After extinguishing the candle, Bai Caoshi lay on the table and looked at the ceiling. She called out to the system in her sea of consciousness.
“Dear host, the cute Cheche is very happy to serve you. The Points Mall is already open for you. You’re welcome to choose.”
An interface similar to an online shopping mall appeared in her vision. However, only three plants had been unlocked. The rest were all gray. Ginseng, Snow Lotus, Lingzhi, and Knotweed could not be bought.
The three unlocked were Plantago Seed, Dandelion, and Gray Vegetable Seed.
Bai Caoshi slapped his thigh and cursed the unscrupulous middleman.
“Che Qianzi, I recorded bamboo and Pulsatilla. Are you giving me weeds? In my hometown, these are f*cking weeds that grow by the roadside and no one cares about them! Examine your conscience. Are you not guilty?”
