Chapter 10: Little Glutinous Rice
“That’s right!” The little kid replied again.
Ning Wan was speechless.
“It’s Huo Yuan!” The child felt relieved when it saw that Ning Wan had finally understood.
“Huo Yuan? You said that the person I want to protect is Huo Yuan?” Ning Wan confirmed again.
“That’s right, that’s right!” If the little kid had a head, it would probably have nodded it off.
Ning Wan was stunned. What a magical encounter!
This functional relationship could even be seen through this book. This X was not X, but another X!
“How about it? You agree, right? I’m not lying to you. I won’t suppress that system if you don’t agree. You’ll die. You won’t be a rich woman and won’t be able to realize your dreams. But if you agree to do a mission with me, you will be one of us. I’ll protect you!”
This kid was really shameless!
“Then let me ask you a question.” Ning Wan slowly regained her composure.
“Tell me, tell me!” The little kid was excited.
“Do I still need to please Huo Ce if I agree to it?” This question was very important to Ning Wan.
“Huh?” The child did not understand.
Ning Wan simply said, “My original system asked me to be obedient to Huo Ce. If I don’t do it well, it will punish me with lightning. You said that you suppressed that system. Does that mean that I don’t have to be so obedient to Huo Ce anymore?”
Perhaps Ning Wan was too tactful, the child did not say anything for awhile.
Ning Wan was nervous. She was too afraid of the sudden lightning punishment, so she did not dare to explain in detail.
“In any case, it can’t torture you anymore with me around! I don’t understand anything else! If you agree to form an alliance with me, I can kick that system out when I become stronger.” The little kid was very frank.
“Alright! Deal!” The system did not understand, but Ning Wan did. What was there to be afraid of as long as she could not be punished?
It was no problem to protect Huo Yuan. She had been taking care of and protecting him every day anyway! It had been two years!
“By the way, how should I address you?” Ning Wan asked her new ally.
“Well—” The little kid squirmed.
“I don’t have a name yet.” This small voice was really cute.
“Then I’ll give you one. Let’s call it Little Glutinous Rice!” Ning Wan felt that this name matched its voice quite well.
“Isn’t that food?” Little Glutinous Rice didn’t seem too happy with its name.
“It’s very delicious. Everyone loves it.” Ning Wan made up her mind.
“Little Aunt, Little Aunt!” Huo Yuan knocked on her door from outside.
Ning Wan opened the door and asked with a smile, “Are you done walking Big Bei and Little Bei?”
“Mhm!” Huo Yuan nodded and made his way into the room.
Ning Wan closed the door and looked at Huo Yuan. “Do you have something to say to me?”
Huo Yuan climbed onto the sofa. His short legs were still not enough to reach the floor. He swayed leisurely and twisted his hands together as he looked at Ning Wan.
He looked like his father, and of course, he looked like Huo Ce. The Huo family’s genes were very strong.
Huo Yuan was not as cold as Huo Ce. He was a soft and warm man.
However, his brows were deeply furrowed at this moment. He looked at Ning Wan pitifully. “Little Aunt, I’m a little nervous.”
Ning Wan could not help but laugh.
Huo Ce valued his only nephew very much. as the only male heir of the Huo family. Huo Ce would send the moon over if Huo Yuan wanted the stars. He had never lacked anything materially.
The little Huo Yuan had always treated money like dirt. He only liked one thing—love.
However, his omnipotent uncle could not give him such a thing.
Human nature was interlinked. What one could not obtain would always be what one wanted the most.
What Huo Yuan wanted was his uncle’s love.
“Let me guess. Are you afraid that Uncle won’t like you if you don’t learn well from your tutor?” Ning Wan sat down beside him and said softly.
Huo Yuan’s eyes lit up and he reached out to hug her arm. “Little Aunt, what should I do?”
Ning Wan had guessed correctly.
Ning Wan’s heart softened looking at the little guy in front of her. She was willing to protect Huo Yuan. This mission was much easier and happier than being Huo Ce’s bootlicker.
“Huo Yuan, don’t worry too much about what hasn’t happened. We have to learn to judge and adapt to the situation, understand?” Ning Wan pinched Huo Yuan’s nose.
Huo Yuan could not understand.
“Now, take a shower and go to bed. Have a good sleep. Rest well and see tomorrow’s teacher. Whether he can teach you or not depends on his standards! Let’s act according to the situation tomorrow, okay?” Ning Wan smiled and said.
Even though Huo Yuan still did not know what to do tomorrow, he immediately felt relieved when he saw his aunt’s expression.
Huo Ce, who was outside the door, could not help but be stunned.
