Chapter 4: Tricks
Lin Lang, however, remembered her as she got into the car. “Aiya, Wanwan isn’t back yet. Leave a car for her.”
“Got it, Mom.” He waved at his men before getting into the car.
The Huo family’s bodyguards and drivers got into the car and left.
They did not wait for her at all!
Ning Wan stood in the cold autumn wind, trembling and confused.
She could not help but sigh. Madam Lin Lang had really forgotten about her daughter-in-law with her son around!
Ning Wan looked at the cake box in her hand. In Huo Ce’s eyes, she probably did not have as much of a presence as the nanny, Auntie Liu, who had served him since he was young. Therefore, she did not know whether he had forgotten that she was still there intentionally or not.
Ning Wan’s eyes darted around as she looked at the busy streets. It was such a rare opportunity to travel alone. Wouldn’t she be a fool if she gave up?
She looked at the elegant white dress on her body. Yes, she could not waste this treasure, right? She was dressed so elegantly and beautifully. She had to go shopping before returning today, she decided happily!
At the Huo Family’s main residence.
The housekeeper, Auntie Liu, led the servants into two teams and warmly welcomed Huo Ce home.
They were so excited that tears welled up in their eyes as they looked at Huo Ce, who had not returned to the main residence for more than half a year. “Young Master, you’re finally back!”
“Auntie Liu.” Huo Ce nodded slightly.
“Prepare more dishes that Huo Ce likes tonight. Hurry up and prepare fruits!” Lin Lang quickly instructed.
Auntie Liu smiled and said, “Madam, everything is ready.”
After saying that, she looked behind everyone and asked curiously, “Where’s the Young Madam?”
“She went to Similar Times to buy cake. She’ll be back soon.” Lin Lang replied.
Aunt Liu nodded. This Young Madam was so sensible and would always be so considerate. Young Master was really lucky!
She led the servants to bring the Matriarch and the Young Master back into the house.
Huo Ce had not returned to the main residence for almost half a year. Firstly, he was indeed busy, and secondly, he found it annoying.
Lin Lang was so happy that she did not stay idle for a moment. The return of her son made her feel energetic.
Huo Ce sat on the sofa and drank the tea Aunt Liu sent over. He asked calmly, “Aunt Liu, what does my mother usually do?”
Auntie Liu smiled and said, “Madam is very busy every day. Young Madam said that people have to have some interests and hobbies to be energetic. Their mood and health will be good as long as they have energy.”
Huo Ce frowned. What she said made sense, but why was it the Young Madam who said it?
Auntie Liu continued, “Madam and Young Madam wake up early every morning and walk around the garden with Big Bei and Little Bei. Then they do yoga, eat breakfast, go for spas, do handicrafts, and tend to the flowers and plants. They continue all day long and are happy every day. Madam is quickly coaxed by Young Madam when she’s down occasionally, thinking of the Old Master and Eldest Young Master.”
“Big Bei and Little Bei?” Huo Ce was extremely good at finding the main point from others’ words.
Auntie Liu, who was talking non-stop, was stunned for a moment. Her expression changed slightly, and she hurriedly said, “Big Bei and Little Bei were two Border Collies that Young Madam bought for Madam. They’re raised in the back garden.”
“She brought dogs into my house?” Huo Ce’s voice rose slightly, full of authority.
Aunt Liu’s heart skipped a beat. She quickly said carefully, “Young Master, those two puppies are very obedient. Madam and Young Madam have been raising them since two months ago. Erm, Madam, really likes them.”
Huo Ce frowned.
Everyone knew that he was a clean freak but that woman could actually encourage her mother to fool around with her?
He stood up. “Show me.”
“Alright, alright. They are in the back garden.” Auntie Liu quickly led the way.
There were many expensive flowers in the Huo family’s backyard. Some of them had been carefully maintained throughout the generations. Most people might not even see such expensive flowers in this garden throughout their entire lives. People with wealth and nobility were completely different.
In such a place where one could easily step on a flower seed that cost hundreds of thousands, someone had circled a piece and made it into a kennel.
Huo Ce’s expression turned sour. “Where are the original flowers and trees here?” He asked coldly.
“Oh, Young Madam got someone to transplant them to the southwest corner. She said that the flowers that were here previously liked the sun more. They should grow better there. Sure enough, everything was still alive after they’re transplanted there. Moreover, they’re growing happily now.” Auntie Liu quickly reported.
Huo Ce’s expression softened slightly.
