Chapter 6: Complete Opposite
[Does he have something as precious as a conscience? What a joke!]
Huo Ce’s gaze landed on Ning Wan. That voice again. Huo Ce felt sure that he was not hallucinating! It was definitely this woman’s heartfelt voice!
He could hear her thoughts now!
And this woman’s thoughts were the complete opposite of what she said!
Huo Ce’s interest was suddenly piqued by her, his gaze could not help but fall on her face again. There seemed to be a heart that did not beat under such a good-looking appearance!
“Why do you need to lose weight? Look at how thin you’ve become. You’re not allowed to lose weight! Girls have to be plumper to look good! Besides, I’m still waiting to hold my grandchild!” Lin Lang said angrily.
Ning Wan blushed.
“Hurry up and go upstairs to change your clothes,” Lin Lang said as she glanced at her son, her hint very obvious.
Ning Wan went upstairs shyly. Only then did she hear Huo Yuan stammer from behind. “Little Uncle.”
Ning Wan could not help but look backwards. The usually arrogant child was standing pitifully in front of Huo Ce, waiting to be pitied.
Ning Wan could not help but shake her head.
Since Huo Yuan was born in the Huo family and was the eldest grandson, it could be deduced that his reincarnation skills were really good. It was equivalent to being stuffed with a golden spoon at birth, right?
But that was not the case.
His mother died when he was born, and his father died when he was two years old. Therefore, Huo Ce adopted him under his name. The two of them might be father and son on paper, but they were actually uncle and nephew.
How could a workaholic and money-making machine like Huo Ce know how to take care of children?
He could give him nothing but money. He did not have any feelings either!
Hence, he threw the little Huo Yuan to her mother, Lin Lang. Madam Lin Lang’s two sons were raised by the wet nurse, so she only knew how to cry with her little grandson.
Therefore, Huo Yuan was a child who lacked love. It was not until Ning Wan married into the family— to be precise, it was not until Ning Wan transmigrated into the family— that Huo Yuan really began to live the life of a normal child.
However, there were some things that could not be replaced.
For example, he had an extraordinary attachment to his Little Uncle, whom he barely saw twice a year. Ning Wan’s understanding was that Huo Yuan lacked fatherly love and since his biological father could not give it to him, he yearned for his Little Uncle’s love.
Unfortunately, his Little Uncle was a block of wood. He had no feelings and did not know love.
Ning Wan took a shower amidst her pity for Huo Yuan, opened the exaggeratedly large wardrobe, and casually took a white dress to change into.
The headache she had just now was the damned system’s warning to her. She would be punished severely if she did not correct her attitude when she was with Huo Ce.
All kinds of white dresses were the clothes that Huo Ce had specified for her as Mrs. Huo. She treated them as work clothes and changed them so that he could see them!
She heard Huo Ce explaining to Lin Lang and Huo Yuan while standing at the stairs.
“I found a tutor for Huo Yuan. He’ll be on duty tomorrow. Huo Yuan, you have to learn from him. You can’t just think about playing all day!”
Huo Yuan lowered his head, feeling a little aggrieved. He nodded expectantly and said softly, “I understand, Little Uncle.”
Seeing this, Huo Ce reached out and touched his head. He said gently, “I’ll check your homework from time to time in the future.”
Huo Yuan nodded slightly and suddenly raised his head. His eyes were bright as he looked at Huo Ce in surprise. “Then will Little Uncle come back often?”
Lin Lang had already pulled her grandson over before Huo Ce could speak. “Of course. Your Little Uncle said that he’s coming back to stay.”
Huo Yuan was so happy that he did not know how to express himself. He saw Ning Wan on the stairs and said loudly, “Little Aunt, Little Uncle is coming back to stay with us.”
He shouted as he ran towards Ning Wan.
Ning Wan quickly walked down the last two steps and reached out to grab Huo Yuan to avoid his face hitting the stairs.
She sighed and put Huo Yuan down. She tidied his clothes and said gently, “Why are you so rash again? Won’t you have to go to the hospital now if you fell?”
She reached out and pinched his little nose. She snorted. “I think your nose is flattened.”
Huo Yuan smiled shyly and held her hand. His excitement did not diminish. “Little Aunt, Little Uncle is coming back to stay. We can see him more often in the future.”
