I Want to Hear Your Voice - Chapter 9
…Since a while ago, there was a feeling of sadness coming from Sousuke.
Sousuke had been silent ever since they left the store. Satori put all his strength in to keep up with Sousuke, who walked quickly ahead.
Sousuke…?
Satori felt sad, but not because Sousuke wouldn’t talk to him. It was because Sousuke, who wouldn’t even look back at Satori, seemed to be irritated by something. Sousuke’s prickly feelings were so sorrowful that it made Satori’s chest fill with sadness.
What should I do to make him feel better…?
At that moment, Satori bumped into the arm of someone coming from the opposite side.
“Aah…!”
Satori was pushed away with great force and fell on the spot.
“Sato!”
Sousuke, who had walked a little ahead of Satori, noticed him and rushed back.
“Are you okay, Sato?”
(Are you hurt?)
Sousuke peered at Satori’s face with a concerned look, then helped him get back up on his feet. Satori was relieved to see that Sousuke had returned to his usual self.
“Yup. I’m fine.”
“What about you, Sousuke? Are you okay? Did your chest not hurt anymore?”
In the face of Satori’s question, Sousuke gasped. He looked as if his chest had been pierced through.
“…Yeah. It doesn’t hurt anymore.”
“I’m glad.”
A smile spread across Satori’s face.
Sousuke picked up the brown thing that had fallen off Satori’s head when he fell.
“Mn?”
Satori placed his hand on his head, then tilted his head curiously. Seeing that, Sousuke smiled.
“It’s a straw hat.”
“…Straw hat?”
“Yup. It protects the head from sun rays.”
Satori widened his eyes in amazement. He thought that it was amazing there was such a convenient thing in this world.
“Do you want to wear this straw hat too, Sousuke?”
Toward Satori’s question, Sousuke laughed and said that he didn’t need it.
