- Chapter 2 - I Will Divorce the Female Lead’s Siscon Brother Chapter 2
When I first realized I had possessed a character in a novel, I thought I was lucky.
When I thought I would die in a car accident, another chance was given to me.
Besides, the work that I possessed was the novel 《Walking on the Flower Path》, which I enjoyed reading.
The story of Liena, an orphan who died after a miserable life, returns to the past and is adopted by a duke.
After that, Liena grew up with a lot of love from the duke–her father, and her two older brothers.
A scary father who only cares for his daughter, as well as two older brothers who become friendly whenever they see their younger sister.
The three men from the duke family that made the world shake only raised their hands in front of the baby bunny.
Their scene of making a fuss, teasing, and comforting Liena is one of the greatest pleasures of the novel.
I also really like the childish plot.
‘Only when reading the book……’
So here’s the problem!
What is my role in this world?
A villain destined for destruction? A supporting character destined to die?
Both guesses are wrong.
It was Edel Wallace, Liena’s sister-in-law and the wife of her first brother, Liandro.
In fact, I knew only after possessed that the owner of the body was Edel. Also, the fact that she has light pink hair and jade-colored eyes.
Liandro’s wife was a minor role mentioned only occasionally in the novel.
Liandro chose to marry her purely for the benefit of his family. Like most nobles, it was an arranged marriage without love.
That’s why Edel doesn’t appear much in the scene where the Cassius family gathers, and even though she appears like a bean in the drought, she doesn’t get any attention at all. In contrast to Liandro, who often appears to meet his younger sister even after marriage.
However, I was quite satisfied with this dim character.
‘Because I’m the wife of my favorite character!’
The little duke, Liandro Cassius, with blond hair brighter than the sun, and blue eyes more than a deep lake.
A perfect man who resembles his father, the duke, from his abilities to his appearance.
His charm is that he’s conscientious, serious, and cold in every way but only melts in front of Liena.
Even though it doesn’t mean I love him……
Why? Because I don’t have a deep feeling for the character in a novel.
It has been my long-held theory that a married couple can work well as long as there is trust and respect.
In addition, Edel is less likely to get involved in troublesome work due to her small number of appearances–though she is also a member of the Cassius family, which is guaranteed to prosper from generation to generation.
Is there a better audience seat to watch the development of the novel than this?
It’s a decent life considering that I’ve fallen into an unfamiliar world.
Let’s take a sneak peek on the flower path that the female lead will walk!
……looking back, I was overly optimistic back then.
It didn’t take long for my hopes and anticipations for my second life to start creaking.

“……what did you just say?”
At Liandro’s question, my consciousness returned to the present.
Oh no. I was drenched in emotion for a moment.
The moment I said I would end this relationship, I only looked back at the past.
“Wife, answer me.”
I faced the man who asked me in a suppressed voice.
He looked angry and shocked.
Except for things related to his younger sister, Liandro never expresses his emotions above a certain level.
Such a man looks at me and shows an attitude that he cannot control his emotions.
A man who strangely avoided me after marriage and never had any rational contact with me.
I deliberately pronounced the following words over and over again.
“I said we have to get a divorce.”
“……divorce?”
Seeing my husband’s poorly wrinkled face aroused a strange pleasure in my chest.
At the same time, I felt so relieved as if the weight I had carried for ten years had been reduced.
I realized it again.
I wanted a divorce.
I didn’t clearly realize it, but in fact, I kept hoping for the end of this relationship.
Anyway, I know that Liandro loves his younger sister very much.
I’m not really sincere either. If I endure it for a bit, my life will be comfortable.
All the dozens of reasons to prevent this breakup were meaningless.
“Let’s divorce. As soon as possible.”
There was even a hint of excitement in my tone of voice when it came to talking about the divorce.
“……”
“……”
“……”
I already said what I wanted, and the atmosphere on the table was indescribably cold.
The Duke of Cassius took turns looking at me and Leandro, speechless.
Even Duke Cassius, whom the emperor respected, looked quite uncomfortable. The servants who had served the food held their breath.
Liena was the first to break the heavy silence.
“Divorce? That makes no sense!”
She got up so quickly that her chair was pushed back.
Stimulated by Liena’s words, Leheim said, “That’s right, sister-in-law! Of course, he was wrong, but divorce is absurd.”
On the other hand, Liandro looked dazed after hearing the word ‘divorce’, but his younger siblings were more upset.
I calmly folded the napkin I had placed on my lap.
“I didn’t make a hasty decision. It was a decision I came to after long consideration.”
Sometimes a lie is necessary.
The duke, who had been silent until then, said, “Edel, in this world, nothing can be done with just your will—”
“I had a good meal. It didn’t taste very good, though.”
I stood up after placing the folded napkin on the table.
“Wait……!”
The duke’s face, which boasted a beauty comparable to that of a young man–even though he was middle-aged, looked bewildered.
He looked shocked at the slight rebellion of his daughter-in-law, who had not spoken to him in his life.
“Goodbye then.”
But I didn’t care and left the restaurant.
I could feel countless eyes staring at my back.
It was impolite, but I didn’t want to listen to the duke to the end.
Well, he is a duke, so his words have the power to make it difficult for others to disobey.
So it’s best to cut it in the middle.
“Little Madame……!”
Ignoring the servants, I went out to the central hall.
Then I walked straight to the front door to leave the damn Cassius mansion forever…… no, I’ll do that later.
I went to the stairs of the central hall and went upstairs.
The destination is the room of the couple on the second floor.
Even though it was a couple’s room, it was actually Liandro’s bedroom, where he often went to sleep alone.
Anyway, when I got to the mansion in the morning, I left my luggage there.
I will only take what I need. I don’t even have money in my pocket right now to find a place to stay tonight.
I will only put the essentials in the bag as quickly as possible.
The door opened with the sound of loud footsteps.
“Wife!”
Liandro, who had now come to his senses, entered the room. I wanted to leave as soon as possible for fear of this.
I asked back, a little annoyed, “Why?”
“……are you serious about divorce?”
“I mean it very much.”
“Why do you want a divorce?”
Haha, I can’t help but laugh.
Liandro doesn’t seem to have any idea why I asked for a divorce.
In short, I would spend three or four days explaining why, but instead of hurting my mouth, I chose to ignore him.
I’ll be sure to pack all of my stuff.
“Get out of the way. I’m leaving.”
“I asked you why you wanted a divorce.”
“Are you asking because you really don’t know?”
“……it’s obviously my fault that I forgot our wedding anniversary. But just with that……”
“It’s just not that.”
“Then what?”
“Put your hands on your chest and look back on the past. If nothing comes to your mind, you’re such a fool.”
Have you ever thought that I would have no complaints against a husband who spoke less than ten minutes a week?
Luckily, he wasn’t that stupid, so he said, “I admit that our relationship was not as friendly as others, but……”
The words that followed were within my expectations.
“Isn’t that the usual case among couples who marry due to arranged marriages?”
“I’m not only saying that it wasn’t a friendly relationship.”
“What else?”
“Find out for yourself.”
Seeing that I was really about to leave, Liandro then looked around the room.
He seemed to be looking for something to stop me, but he couldn’t think of it easily.
Then his gaze fell on the object lying on the other side of the bedroom.
“Wait. Look at this!”
He strode over and picked up the cloth that was wrapped around the object.
The cloth that had been blocking the dust and sunlight was removed, revealing the pure white color it had covered.
The lace that the artisans have painstakingly woven one by one, and dozens of pearls shone in the sun.
It’s a wedding dress.
The dress I wore when I got married to Liandro was draped over a half-body mannequin, showing off its unchanging figure.
After the wedding, I just left it and it occupied the corner of the room all the time.
The moment I saw the wedding dress, my mood immediately heated up.
Liandro, unaware of that fact, started talking as much as he liked.
“Remember when you married me in this dress. Although things were twisted like this, it was good at first. Even thinking about that time–”
“It wasn’t good.”
“Yeah?”
“It wasn’t good. That dress, and our marriage.”
Bewildered, he asked, “No way. Didn’t you say you like this dress because it’s so pretty?”
“When did I?”
“At that time, you definitely–”
“I wasn’t the one who said that dress was pretty.”
My voice was surprisingly calm.
“It was your sister.”
At my words, Liandro hardened.
“Liena? No way……”
I decided to kindly remind the man who had not yet come to his senses.
“Remember the time I got my wedding dress on.”
Also known as the stolen wedding dress.
The incident–which I named so–took place months before our marriage.
