- Chapter 37-2 - I’ll Become the Female Lead in this Trashy Webnovel Chapter 37-2
Joshua’s face was calm as ever in the dim moonlight so she couldn’t possibly read what was on his mind.
She flinched and sat back down.
“I need to go.”
“Where?”
“My room.”
“What?”
Joshua immediately put the words into practice.
He left the bed without hesitation and reached for the door in a few long strides.
“No. Where are you going, Joshua?’She demanded. “We aren’t done with the conversation yet!”
*BANG*
The door was slammed shut.
He was upset.
Joshua was totally upset.
“Hey! What’s wrong with you? What the hell——”
Speechless, So-hee could only let out an incredulous laugh and sigh.
She had no intention of chasing after him.
She still had some pride, afterward.
* * *
“Let me elaborate on today’s schedule.”
Mary, a maid who didn’t want to be kicked out, had been very motivated since morning.
So-hee watched her face brighten up as the rising sun as she forced the corners of her mouth to curl up.
“Her Majesty wants to eat together with you at lunch, Your Highness. Now, please wash up and go to His Highness’s study for breakfast.”
So-hee quickly cut her off. “No. I don’t want to go.”
Smiling, Mary replied firmly. “You can’t not go, My Lady.”
Could a person maintain such bright expression?
Mary’s teeth sparkled under the light as she continued to smile.
“You must go as per the crown prince’s command, Your Highness.”
A shield that never seemed to have broken through came.
Joshua’s puppets around her were worse than before.
“Hahaha.” So-hee laughed dryly as she raised the blanket to the crown of her head.
It was a meaningless rebellion.
Several maids surrounded her in the blink of an eye to dress her up and it exhausted her until she drooped.
Ariad ate and slept without doing anything much so how many hours would she have to take to finish dressing up?
When she came to her senses again, she was pushed in front of the office.
She thought about the argument with Joshua last night so she gave the door a narrow-eyed stare.
In the meantime, the door opened and Sohee was thrown into it.
As usual, the man, sitting with his back facing a large window, turned the papers over without sparing her a glance.
Oh.
What’s wrong with him this time?
Why did he call her here if he was going to ignore her existence the next?
So-hee almost snorted from annoyance before she sat down on a leather sofa far from him.
In the silence, only the rustling of documents and the occasional sound of someone writing with a pen resonated in the room.
The flow of the breathtaking atmosphere continued for a while.
In the end, Joshua put on a show of putting the pen on the desk before finally looking at her.
“Did you forget anything?”
Good.
It was what she was hoping for.
“No?”
Perhaps, it was a useless fight.
“Well, then.”
Joshua shifted his gaze again as if nothing was wrong.
He was completely ignoring Sohee’s existence.
No matter how upset he was, how can a gentle person be so cold-hearted?
She glared at the documents he was flipping over.
Joshua never spared her a glance as several visitors entered and exited his office every ten minutes.
Sohee’s furious aura intimidated the crown prince’s guests when they sneaked past her shooting glowers at him.
So-hee sat in the same position silently throughout their work-related conversation.
As she felt invisible, Joshua continued to laugh as he turned his head away from her.
As the door closed, Sohee had a snowball fight with a woman and the two men in a famous painting across the leather sofa before she turned to Joshua again.
Her stomach growled out of nowhere.
As her breakfast time passed, the clock in her belly rang more accurately than any other clock.
‘I can’t lose to hunger.’ Sohee thought. ‘I must learn to understand and forgive the male lead because I’m kinder and more generous than this man-child.’
After keeping her chestnut-sized pride, she took her butt off the sofa and stood up.
“I’m sorry.”
In the end, she knew that Joshua would win this fight.
His indifference would threaten the heroine’s position so the disappointing side was bound to apologize.
As she limped in front of Joshua, he finally took his eyes off the document and raised his head.
As if he didn’t just ignore So-hee earlier, he quickly pushed his chair and held out an arm.
She used to sit on his lap as he held her in his embrace.
She continued to apologize but it wasn’t sincere.
“I’m sorry, Joshua. It’s true that it happened with Hugh before. I know that it was enough to upset you——”
It wasn’t like she was the one who did it.
Anyway, So-hee tried not to get annoyed as before and spoke patiently.
“It doesn’t really make any sense that he was my ideal type. I was just drunk at that time. If I was rational, I will not date that Knight at all.”
“Are you making an excuse right now?” His voice was gentle when he asked but it was obvious that he wanted to argue.
Not knowing how to explain the relationship between an admired celebrity and a fan, her thoughts wandered round and round as she tried to convey that feeling somehow.
As a result, the key was not to look at him rationally.
“Can’t I be your ideal type, Ariad?”
She guessed that wasn’t the point that bothered this man.
