- Chapter 84-2 - I’ll Just Be Friends With My Ex-Husband Chapter 84-2
The word that Veronica and Louella heard the most when they followed their mother around and learned how to work was ‘You have to be careful. You are responsible for the livelihood of everyone involved in this business.’
Brenti looked more nervous. Serina took a deep breath. Even with a blank expression on her face, Louella took great care to notice that she didn’t look heartless. Serina continued slowly.
“Well, the truth is, it will be an honor to be able to get this opportunity thanks to Brenti, Louella. In fact, I, the daughter of the top lamenters, have few opportunities to meet such a noblewoman like you” Louella didn’t utter any words.
“Now I’m preparing to launch my brand.”
“What is in it if it’s a brand?”
“I’m going to set up a dressing room…” Serina held out the sketchbook to Louella and she already took notice of how pale her hand looked.
“I heard that the Duchess listens to Lady Louella’s opinion a lot in her business these days. That’s probably because the lady has a good sense when it comes to business. Please look at my sketch and judge.” Her face was tense but filled with confidence.
Serina was partially correct. Louella’s mom had been asking Louella a lot when it came to her opinion lately. She had no way of knowing if her mother listened to her opinion anyway.
In fact, it was natural that she had no choice but to have that business sense. She had already lived in the future, so she already had an idea in advance of the designs that would be popular in the future… Wait a minute.
Looking at Serina’s sketchbook, she couldn’t hide her surprise. Oh, my God. That’s what she was talking about. Serina’s sketches were something Louella knew.
In the next five years, there will be a fashion boutique that will emerge like a shining star. Louella had not remembered the name of the lady. The news of the fashion boutique was sensational and its unique and groundbreaking designs swept everyone in the country.
There was a rumor that there were people who didn’t buy clothes in the fashion boutique, but there was no one who had similar clothes. That’s how much they captivated the hearts of noble ladies.
The most popular one was a dress that had laces and a subtle silhouette. The current trend nowadays was to wear a petticoat while inflating the bottom by stacking layers of lace inside.
However, the sketchbook Serena brought was filled with dresses that boldly eliminated those things and emphasized femininity, a lady’s natural form.
How could she not recognize this? She was a regular in this fashion boutique as well. Though she couldn’t remember it clearly now. Anyway, it was nice to see these designs in advance.
Was Serena the owner of the boutique? Louella looked up and stared at Serina again. Now that she looked at it, she realized that she was a noble.
“What do you think?”
“……This is going to be really groundbreaking, Serina. I’m sure that you’ll be at the top of the Empire in less than a decade.”
This is real. Louella experienced it herself. Now the goose laying the golden egg was about to roll into the palm of her hand.
“Thank you……” Serina blushed and replied. “Lady Louella.”
“Well, I’ve been thinking that the fabric that can make the best output of my design is the fabric handled by Leander. But I don’t think the Leander family would sign a contract with a fashion boutique that is still nonexistent…” Serena glanced at Brenti.
“It was a mistake of mine. Forgive my rudeness.”
“Not at all!” Rather, Louella felt like she should thank Brenti for such an opportunity.
With Serina, she would be able to develop her mom’s business. A humming sound came out. Louella couldn’t believe she was the only one who could take the jackpot.
“Rather, I think it’s a good thing that we’re able to get this offer, Serina. I’ll contact you after discussing this positively. Can I borrow your sketchbook?”
“It’s…” Serina took a deep breath and nodded.
“I’ll return it immediately and make sure it doesn’t get damaged, Serina. Thank you for letting me do this.” Serina waved her hand.
“You praised the designer for nothing… You already gave us a lot of help. I’m rather grateful!” As soon as Serina left, Louella felt like she had to discuss it with her mom.
“My mom will definitely agree with this dress,” Louella said.
Serena smiled. “Nice to meet you, Louella.”
Brenti said. “My marriage depends on this business.”
“If it’s marriage….”
“I thought I could break my parents’ opposition with this business opportunity.” Brenti smiled.
The smile reminded Louella of Gerald. Gerald did everything he could to save her. She had seen Brenti’s heart.
Louella nodded with a grin, “It’ll all work well, I promise.”
