- Chapter 74 - I’m Having Trouble With a High School Girl I Meet on the Commuter Train Who for Some Reason Has Taken a Liking to Me Chapter 74
The morning after Comiket was over.
I was in the first carriage of the commuter train to go to work.
I asked myself, “Kaedezaka, why did you ask me out?”
I had promised Kaedezaka to go shopping with me at the after party yesterday, but I was puzzled.
If it were a normal girl, I would be happy to think of it as an invitation to go on a date with her.
A romcom development would not be possible.
Nevertheless, she worked so hard.
It was not exactly a reward, but I wanted to appreciate her.
Now, what should I do?
While I was thinking about this, a high school girl stood in front of me…
Dressed in her uniform, she greeted me in her usual tone.
“Good morning, Onii-San”
“Yo, Yuika.”
“Good job at Comiket. I see you’re not in uniform today.”
“Would you prefer it that way?”
“No, You look better in a suit.”
Needless to say, wearing a suit in the summer was clearly hell.
I heard that there was a custom called “Cool Biz”1 in the world, but we were an old company and still held to the suit supremacy principle.
I don’t think it was a good idea in this day and age of global warming, but I couldn’t go against the company’s policy.
Come to think of it, I should think about what to wear when I go shopping with Kaedezaka, or she might make fun of me again.
I was called ‘stupid’ at yesterday’s launch.
But what did that mean in the end?
I don’t think I said anything strange, no matter how much I think about it. …
That’s right.
Yuika might be able to understand what Kaedezaka meant when she said.
“Hey, Yuika. I’d like to ask you something. ……”
“What?”
“She called me an idiot, what does that mean?”
Then the high school girl replied in an indifferent tone.
“You mean Onii-San’s an idiot, right?”
“Is that so?”
“There’s no other way.”
That’s right. To be frank, there was no other answer.
Since the other party was Kaedezaka, it was not at all surprising that she would say so.
But something seemed different.
How can I say, …., Kaedezaka seemed to be teasing at that time but she didn’t seem hostile.
Only if I could understand what Kaedezaka was thinking a little more,…….
Then Yuika munied my arm twice and asked.
“Hey, Do you want to talk about it?”
“Hmm. ……. Do I look like I’m asking for help?”
“You don’t?”
“Please.”
What I have learned as a working adult was that the fastest way to solve a problem was to ask for help honestly.
It was said that to ask was a temporary shame, and not to ask was a lifelong shame.
It was pretty lame for a working adult to be consulting with a high school girl, but let’s skip that part for now.
“Well, it’s not that deep, but”
“Onii-san, you basically have a shallow life, right?”
“Oi.”
“Tehe.”
I’ve never seen someone say “tehe” without changing their facial expression.
But she’s cute, so I’ll forgive her.
“To make a long story short, a female trainee asked me to go shopping with her.”
“Oh, the one you were assisting?
“Yeah. And then she called me an idiot at the end. To be honest, I don’t get it.”
Yuika groaned and tilted her head.
“That’s it. I asked you out on a date, but you didn’t understand my intentions, So I called you an idiot, no?”
I waved my hand at the impossible answer.
“That’s not true.”
“But you are not good at reading women’s feelings, are you? can you still say it’s impossible?”
“Ugh. ….”
I guess that’s right.
I don’t understand how women feel.
I mean, I’m trying a little bit, you know?
But things which I don’t understand, I just don’t.
“Personally, I’m rooting for your junior, but your feelings come first.”
“…… I mean, what should I do?”
“Why don’t you just go on the date and see how she feels?”
That was certainly true.
In fact, I have no idea what Kaedezaka thinks.
In the first place, dating was about getting to know each other, right?
But …., I think.
“Hey, Yuika. Do you think I can talk like that? I don’t mean to brag, but I’m not a talker.”
“Ah, that is true. You can’t do it. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize. You’re making me sad.”
(T/N: Will resume it now, sorry for not posting anything)
