I’m The Princess of All - Chapter 1
Prologue.
“…….I’m…… I’m hungry……”
“What?”
“..I’m hungry…… I’m tired……”
He hugged her when she trembled.
She dug herself into the arms of the man who was holding her.
She knew she had to speak more properly, but her young body couldn’t move at all.
In the meantime, the blurred consciousness made her even more anxious.
‘I have to be mindful………’
Maybe this was my last chance. Luana stared at the man in front of her.
He, a man with eyes and hair the same color as hers, was looking at her with bleak eyes.
I was scared and trembled just by looking at it, but this man was the only hope for Luana right now.
‘Liliana can’t know…….’
It was scary to imagine what Liliana would say when she knew she had tried to run away.
“Li…Li…Ana….uh…”
With all her last words, Luna eventually lost consciousness and collapsed.
1.
Luana couldn’t understand what was going on right now.
“……What is this?”
She simply came to the Rose Palace in haste to tell that Liliana was looking for her. She just ran in full anticipation that she might be celebrating her birthday, but she didn’t even know in her dreams that she would meet the Prince.
I just ran out of swelling, but I didn’t even know in my dream that I would face this situation.
I looked around once again. There was no light in the room except for a few candles, so I couldn’t see properly. However, as time passed and my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I saw the whole room turned red.
Only the rose scent that filled her room was telling me that this was Liliana’s room.
“Ugh……..”
Luana, who smelled a rose scent, closed her mouth in a momentary time. The smell of blood hidden by the strong scent of roses began to fill the room.
‘……huh?’
Luana froze at the sight that suddenly caught her eye. She saw someone familiar in the corner of the room lying down.
“…the lady-in-waiting?”
Liliana’s handmaid was bleeding. The smell of blood that filled her room was evident from her body.
“Shh. She should be in the dark.”
Someone’s voice was heard behind Luana’s back, she was stunned and was unable to scream. Her voice, holding Luana immobile, was a very pleasant voice.
“Li… Liliana? Run… Run away”
It was Liliana, who stopped Luana from running.
“……Why?”
“You have nothing to worry about, so be quiet. Okay, my daughter?”
Liliana slowly stroked Luana’s hair. Luana felt like she was choking at her gentle touch.
“Yes, you have to stay dark. That way, you can be loved.”
It was a friendly voice that I have never heard of in my life. The voice that had always pointed at Lewis was pointing to her at this moment.
However, the situation was too bizarre right now to accept the kindness. Luana looked at Liliana with trembling eyes.
I saw it.
I didn’t even notice it until now. However, there was a fishy smell of blood from Liliana’s hands, from stroking her hair. Luana’s eyes pointed to Liliana’s hand. In her hand, a dagger, believed to have stabbed the maid’s heart, was seen.
“What…what are you going to do………are you going to do with me?”
“My dear daughter. It’s okay to be happy. Finally, the moment has come when you can help this mother. Did you always want to be helpful to this mother? Okay. Now you can call me mom. It will be for a short time, but sing to your heart’s content.”
Liliana’s voice, that was whispering sweetly, was filled with joy. It was clearly revealed that she was really excited.
“Shall I stay in the dark? My dear daughter?”
However, her wriggling body quickly stopped at Liliana’s words. She felt as if she was a puppet doll being manipulated by hanging from a single thread. But her words of love were so sweet that Luana couldn’t move, and Luana couldn’t do anything other than accepting her death.
“Yes, aren’t you a good girl?”
Liliana’s hand slowly moved towards Luana’s heart. In a slightly blurred vision, Luana looked at Liliana’s face. If Luana’s death could make her sad a little bit, it would be enough for her, but the smile on Liliana’s mouth grew thicker, as she watched her death. Rather, her eyes were fluttering with joy, as if she told her to die right away.
‘……Why?’
And the moment she saw Liliana’s smile becoming brighter and brighter, a question came to her mind.
‘Why should I die?’
In a sudden thought, Luana looked at Liliana.
The moment she saw Liliana smiling brightly as she watched her die, she felt something broke.
She was repressed by Liliana. Little by little, her ego was opening before her eyes.
‘……I don’t want to die.’
I didn’t want to die without doing anything in life.
Luana’s eyes, which were always dark, finally came to life. But it was already too late. Luana’s eyes only closed more and more.
I wanted to live. I didn’t want to accept that I was dying.
“……I don’t want to!”
Luana exclaimed her will to the world with all her might. At that moment, the whole red world began to turn blue.
“……No!”
The moment Liliana screamed, who witnessed the phenomenon, reached Luana’s ears, and Luana lost consciousness.
* * *
“……..I don’t want to!”
Luana jumped out of bed and screamed.
‘What?’
Was it a dream?
Luana looked around slowly and was relieved to realize that she was the same as before she fell asleep. She was in her room here, and she was only 8 years-old. She was 10 years-old in her dreams and was dying by her mother, Liliana. It was simply a nightmare.
“Why are you making such a loud noise?”
At that moment, the door of Luana’s room opened wide. Luana reflexively gathered her blankets.
She was a maid who worked in her palace. She had a scary, cold gaze as usual, and she usually laughed at her as well.
“……Well, that…….I dreamed of…….Luana swallowed a spit, and her body shrank reflexively.”
“Today is the birthday of the Second Prince, so I’m still busy. Don’t make a fuss and stay in the dark.”
The maid said she didn’t have time to care about things like you. It was a polite expression, but it sounded like an order.
The maid glanced at Luana and closed the door with a loud ‘thud’.
‘Strange.’
Luana stared at the door blankly.
Somehow I felt like I had been through all of this once.
After sitting still and passing time for a while, Luana came to her senses with a thumping sound. There seemed to be a humming noise coming from down the stairs.
‘Liliana will come in angry.’
Suddenly, Luana was amazed and looked around her room. She didn’t know why she thought like that, but she thought so anyway.
“Luana!”
And her assumption was correct.
Beyond her opened door, Liliana, who was overwhelmed with anger, was glaring at her.
‘You’ll say I broke something.’
“Did you dare to touch Lewis’s cake?”
Luana stared at Liliana, who said that the cake she prepared for today, was ruined because of me.
‘There was a dagger in that hand, and she stabbed my heart with it.’
Luna, looking at her silently, seemed to have offended Liliana.
Lilliana strode by and slapped Luana on the cheek.
‘Rose flavor……’
But Luana couldn’t even feel her pain because her mind was sold to the rich rose scent of Liliana’s. It was so disgusting that her scent, which she loved until a while ago, was stenching her nose.
‘It’s just a dream…or was it not?’
The hazy memories lifted her head little by little. The memories of the moment she died were still clear.
Liliana got upset when Luana didn’t respond.
The child, who was supposed to pray to her at once, had a different demeanour from usual.
“Oh, don’t you know how to reflect on yourself? I tried to forget and move on, but I guess I can’t. You’re not going to eat until you reflect on yourself!”
Luana blinked at Liliana’s words.
I seemed to have heard the word that the rice is thicker before. [T/N: I think this part is an idiom but I don’t know the meaning of it…]
Luana turned to the ladies, who were looking behind Lilliana.
The maids were doing different requests while avoiding Luana’s gaze. It was certainly pure white cream that was buried in the hem of their teeth. [T/N: I think this means the maids find it amusing to see her getting mocked?]
‘Ah……….’
It seemed to me that I had experienced this, even in my dreams. The maids accidentally ruined the cake, so they blamed it on me.
‘So, am I having foresight now? Did I just see the moment I died?’
But why do I know about this situation now, but not the moment I die?
Luana tried to organize her thoughts amid her confusion.
“I’ll lock the door now, so try to reflect on your mistakes in the meantime.”
Liliana turned coldly and left the room. The door was locked with a dangling sound.
‘I have to catch it…..’
She hadn’t eaten properly for several days already.
If Liliana didn’t come, her maids wouldn’t have given her a sip of water. And the last few days ago, Liliana was busy preparing Lewis’ birthday banquet, so she didn’t even set foot here. But if it was a few more days, it might be unbearable.
However, Luana didn’t do anything other than looking at the door she closed. Her head didn’t work properly, and it was hard to figure out what was going on.
But there was only one thing for sure.
‘A dream……. not a dream, I am in a dream……’
Dead. The moment I realized it, Luana woke up as if she awakened from her sleep. At the last minute, she was certainly facing her death. That’s because Liliana’s hand pierced her heart…
“…Ugh…”
The scent of roses left in the room was disgusting.
As if she was about to vomit, a terrible scent wandered around her as if it was devouring her.
Luana stumbled a few times and looked around blankly.
‘Blue……’
Her eyes, which shone clearly in the mirror, stood out.
Luana slowly approached the mirror.
Whenever I blink, my eyes seem to shine more today.
Her blue eyes, refreshing like a wave, were familiar somehow. Strangely, the blue light that colored the world before she died came to mind.
Luana’s hand slowly crossed the air and touched the mirror.
“Oh!”
At the touch of a cold mirror, Luana reflexively pulled her hand back. The coolness that spread from her fingertips made Luana awake.
‘This is not the time.’
Luana slowly recalled her dream.
……No, I tried to remember it.
Shortly thereafter, Luana’s face became sad.
‘I don’t remember anything.’
I know I can’t remember everything, but I couldn’t think of what it was. All the memories were hovering in her head just like a faint afterimage.
“What should I do?”
Luana clenched her fist. She was only 8 years old, and there was nothing she could do. Maybe I had to live this way and die just like I saw in my dreams.
Nothing had changed.
‘…….No.’
Suddenly, Luana raised her head.
There must have been something busy.
‘I have changed.’
If it was her from before, even when she had no faults, she would’ve cried out her rumbling at Liliana’s words and hung at her feet to ask for her forgiveness. But now she knew that Liliana would kill her in the future, and she didn’t want to wait for her death.
And now she knew what to do.
“…… Let’s run away.”
I had to get out of Liliana’s hand.
Luana clenched her teeth.
