Chapter 51. Reunion (1)
“You. Low-ranking. Constellation. Really. On such a call. Led by fate. Indeed. Tragic.”
“Does the dog ever stop barking? Actually, why don’t you go out for a while?”
Anubis bowed his head pitifully and sank into the corner again. Seeing Apollo giggling and sneering at him, I took a deep breath and looked at my contractor’s information.
And my mouth was wide open.
[Summary of Contractor’s Information.]
[Contractor – Dynamic Baek Tae-beom]
[Titles : One Who Bent The Mist, Dynamic, Embracing Despair, Transcendent….
Grade : S
Status : Joy
Constellation : One Who Seeks To Avoid The Fall
Coins possessed: 279,300
Skills possessed : [Dark Sword Dance] [Hermit(Liberation)] [Guardian] [Madness] [King’s Blade] [Pulsing Death]
An Awakened whose skills and abilities have been freed by fulfilling certain conditions.]
What are all these skills? The skills that Baek Tae-beom had freed were completely different from the skills Baek Tae-beom obtained in the novel. In the first place, the skill <Guardian>. Isn’t this the same skill that the main character got?
And 270,000 coins? Coin isn’t the name of someone’s dog (means the scale is not small; you shouldn’t say it easily, unlike calling a dog’s name), and I haven’t been able to act as his constellation, so where did this huge amount come from?
And certain conditions that have been met.
Maybe, his real younger brother died?
I was trying to save him, but I was frustrated by the thought that I might have lost his Dongsaeng in the end. Then it was understandable that Baek Tae-beom looked like this. But what are these skills, and what do these titles mean? Aside from what Kang Si-hoo once obtained, these are skills that have never appeared in the original novel.
As expected, I’ll have to check it out too.
Whether Baek Tae-beom’s Dongsaeng was dead or alive.
I picked up the cell phone that I had thrown, and at that moment, a loud noise came from the phone.
[Congratulations! Attendance has been completed. 100 coins will be given to you.]
“Ah, that scared me!”
[Coins possessed: 500]
Why was I not happy at all?
“I’ll be back.”
“Why. Are you going to see your contractor?”
“No, his younger brother.”
“Is that also related to The Fall?”
“That’s right.”
Apollo waved his hand like a cotton ball as if to say I have come back safely. I waved my hand back and left the Soul’s Sanctuary.
“This is….”
Where I died.
The scene was still vivid. The steel sticking out of the dark fog, Baek Tae-beom’s collapsing expression, and my hands and feet that went cold. The ground now was clean with no bloodstains and neat concrete. It was difficult to control my expression.
As I pondered the past, a question suddenly came to mind.
Why did I think that it didn’t matter if I died back then?
Was death such a simple thing? Even if you had a body that can’t die, it would be normal to feel some anxiety or discomfort. It felt like a wiggling sprout was blooming inside of me. Black and disgusting, climbing up like it’s bound to me.
[The constellation, ‘One Who Seeks To Avoid The Fall’ is synchronized with the body.]
I immediately shook my head. There was no way to undo what had happened. Didn’t they say it’s been 2 years? Then, it would be time for Kang Si-hoo, the main character of the original story, to start moving.
[CH. Personal/One Who Is More Dazzling Than The Sun : What are you doing out there?]
[CH. Personal/One Who Is More Dazzling Than The Sun : Are you just looking around? Remembering the joys and sorrows of life? I interrupted you, didn’t I?]
[CH. Personal/One Who Seeks To Avoid The Fall: Can you please be quiet?]
[The constellation, ‘One Who Guides The Dead’ barks once loudly.]
[CH. Personal/One Who Is More Dazzling Than The Sun : Damn roleplayer. Didn’t I tell you to be quiet?]
I went out into the street and searched my pockets to pay for a taxi, but all I found was a blood-soaked bill and a broken check card. In addition, I realized that the way I am now doesn’t even make sense. My reflection in a store’s display window was such a mess that it felt as if I had just finished filming a zombie movie.
As I stood there with a shocked face, a passerby glanced at me and started walking quickly. The back of my head was hot, so it seemed like everyone was looking at me.
[CH. Personal/One Who Seeks To Avoid The Fall : Give me some money.]
[CH. Personal/One Who Is More Dazzling Than The Sun : Did you become senile in the past 2 years?
[CH. Personal/One Who Seeks To Avoid The Fall : I know you can exchange money for coins. Help me!]
[CH. Personal/One Who Is More Dazzling Than The Sun : Oh… I’ve misled my child, and raised him wrongly.]
[CH. Personal/One Who Seeks To Avoid The Fall : I grew up alone, though.]
Apollo sponsored me with an item even though he was so grumpy. With the banknotes I had in my hand, I went into a clothing store and bought any clothes that I could get. Even though I was drenched in blood, the clerk at the clothing store didn’t seem to care at all and merely greeted me with the smile of a service worker.
Oh hell, I couldn’t be the first one that came into the store like this. He’d probably just think it was fortunate that there wasn’t any blood on the floor of the store.
[CH. Personal/One Who Guides The Dead : Clothes. Why.]
[CH. Personal/One Who Guides The Dead : That. Look Bad. Worn.]
“Ah, damn noisy… Ah, I’m talking to my constellation.”
When I told the clerk awkwardly, the clerk nodded his head kindly with a bright smile as if he understood.
