After the sixth night, Rong Kaixuan naturally released the mysterious energy within him.
Over the past five days, he had created a Spirit Body with each of the five elements once. He then used himself to distract Rong Cai away from the house so that the Spirit Bodies could enter the deep mountains to cultivate.
The wood element and fire element Spirit Body Spellcasters were pretty well-prepared since they each knew three basic spells.
The other three element Spirit Body Spellcasters weren’t so lucky. They only knew one spell each, and that was the improved version of their element’s Spirit Power Bounce.
That one spell was enough to help them survive just outside the deep mountains.
This time, Rong Kaixuan hesitated for a long time before releasing his mysterious energy.
He couldn’t decide what sort of Spirit Body Spellcaster he now wanted to evoke.
In the end, he decided to evoke another Spirit Body Fighter to accompany the one already within the deep mountains.
Just as he started to push out all of his mysterious energy, a strange thing happened.
He suddenly felt an excruciating pain in his head. It was as if someone had taken an ax and was hacking away at his brain.
There was a thud as Rong Kaixuan collapsed onto the floor. Blood was coming out from his eyes, ears, and nose.
The Spirit Body that was in the midst of forming burst with a bang and disappeared.
Rong Kaixuan remained sprawled on the ground. It took a long time before he could get up again.
He glanced a little fearfully at where the Spirit Body he was trying to evoke earlier had disappeared. For some strange reason, he actually knew why this unbelievable thing happened.
He shifted his Divine Sense to the little round ball in between his eyebrows. This was the secret behind how he had gotten this far in life.
His Divine Sense slowly entered the inside of the little round ball.
There wasn’t a lot of space inside the little round ball, and the space had been split into six parts. Each section had a little shadow inside of it.
Even though these six shadows were identical, Rong Kaixuan was able to differentiate them with one glance.
It was his Spirit Body Fighter, as well as his five Spirit Body Spellcasters.
His Divine Sense scanned the rest of the little round ball to find that there was no more available space. He deeply exhaled.
There was a limit to this mysterious energy after all. He wasn’t sure if this little round ball could keep more Special Spirit Bodies after his abilities had increased in level.
He took his Divine Sense back, straightened his clothes out, and wiped away all the blood. He weakly pushed the door and tried to go out.
Practicing his boxing outside had become part of his daily routine. He was afraid that Rong Cai might become suspicious if he didn’t do the same thing again. Besides, he had already decided to return to the Main House the next day, so he just had to go through one last night.
Just as he made it out of the estate, there was a blur in front of him. Rong Cai had suddenly appeared to block his way.
Rong Kaixuan was shocked by this. “Grandpa Cai, what are you doing?”
Rong Cai looked in shock at him and frowned slightly as he replied, “Young Master Kaixuan, are you injured?”
Rong Kaixuan was surprised. This old man really had a keen eye for things.
Rong Kaixuan laughed bitterly and said, “Grandpa Cai, I got a little too impatient earlier. When I was cultivating Spirit Power, I got a little hurt.” He paused and said, “But it’s alright, I’ll be fine tomorrow.”
Rong Cai had a grim expression on his face as he said, “Young Master Kaixuan, it’s wonderful that you keep up your cultivation, but please don’t overwork yourself.” He bowed slightly and said, “For tonight, I would like to ask Young Master Kaixuan to rest early instead.”
Rong Kaixuan’s face reddened, but that was exactly what he had hoped for. He quickly replied, “Grandpa Cai, you’re right. I’ll go back to my room.”
Rong Cai nodded and added, “Young Master Kaixuan, since you’re injured, it’s not good for you to stay here anymore. Let’s go back tomorrow.”
Rong Kaixuan’s heart leaped with joy, but there was a hesitant look on his face like he had been put on the spot. After a moment, he finally replied, “Alright, I’ll go with your arrangement.”
Rong Cai was relieved to hear that. He escorted Rong Kaixuan back into his room and only left after Rong Kaixuan fell asleep.
After witnessing Rong Kaixuan’s incredible rate of improvement, the little young master’s position in his heart had gone up by leaps and bounds.
Even Rong Yihe, his Master’s eldest son, didn’t seem so important anymore.
After the two of them returned to the Main House the next day, Rong Cai quickly told Rong Jielin the shocking things he had witnessed.
Of course, Rong Jielin was over the moon when he heard that, but he was also slightly disappointed and hesitant at the same time.
Rong Kaixuan had a gift for martial arts, but he was equally talented as a Spiritualist. If he made Rong Kaixuan give up cultivating as a Spiritualist and switched to cultivating as a Martial Artist…
Rong Jielin couldn’t find it in himself to say such a thing.
Besides, he knew that Rong Kaixuan was now the one and only Spirit Gatherer in the entire clan. If he got Rong Kaixuan to give up being a Spiritualist to become a Martial Artist instead, it would cause an uproar and the Elders would never agree to it.
After letting out a long sigh, Rong Jielin just told Rong Cai not to interrupt Rong Kaixuan.
Rong Cai felt that it was a pity, but he didn’t have any good solutions to the problem either.
Rong Kaixuan had no idea what these two old men were worried about. After resting at home for two days, he ran to the Hall of Spiritualists excitedly and looked for Wang Xiaoxiao.
“Senior Wang.” Rong Kaixuan bowed deeply toward Wang Xiaoxiao. “I would like to learn new spells.”
He had made this request many times before, but Wang Xiaoxiao always ignored him.
This time, Rong Kaixuan was confident because Elder Jiexuan had promised him earlier. Thus, he went straight to the point.
Perhaps it was because she had received the instructions from the Elder, but Wang Xiaoxiao did not refuse his request right away.
She sighed quietly and looked toward Rong Kaixuan with a complicated expression in her mesmerizing eyes.
“My junior, I know that your gift is truly something amazing and different from the rest. But I hope you will understand that when one chews too many things in his mouth, it is difficult to chew them properly.”
Rong Kaixuan smiled bitterly and replied, “Senior, I understand. But… I still want to learn new spells.”
Wang Xiaoxiao shook her head slightly. “Since Grandpa Xuan has agreed, I will not stop you. I hope that you will promise me one thing.”
Rong Kaixuan’s eyes lit up. As long as Wang Xiaoxiao didn’t stop him, he would agree to anything.
“Please tell me what you want me to do.”
Wang Xiaoxiao quietly said, “Once you find that you can’t handle it, you have to stop.”
Rong Kaixuan breathed a sigh of relief. “Senior, don’t worry, I will make sure to keep within my limits.”
Wang Xiaoxiao sighed inside her heart. She knew that even though this overly confident junior of hers had promised her that, if he really ran into difficulties, there was no way he was going to admit defeat.
This sort of person found it hard to change his mind even if he was completely covered with injuries.
Perhaps Grandpa Xuan was right in allowing him to be ridiculous if he wanted to. Even if he caused any trouble, it was easy to settle it at this stage. If he got into any trouble during his cultivation at a much higher level, it would be difficult for even the gods to save him.
After nodding slightly, Wang Xiaoxiao took him to a large building within the Hall of Spiritualists.
“Junior Kaixuan, this is the Manuals Library of the Hall of Spiritualists.” She quietly instructed him, “I will tell the Head Librarian that you can read any of the manuals on the first story of the Manuals Library.”
“Got it. Thank you, Senior.”
When Rong Kaixuan looked at the huge Manuals Library, he felt like he was going to faint from happiness.
When the two of them entered the building, they saw a middle-aged man at the door holding a manual in his hands and reading it very intently.
Wang Xiaoxiao went forward and whispered a few things to the man. He looked up with a start and glanced at Rong Kaixuan. “You’re Rong Kaixuan? The one who has a gift of Spirit gathering?”
“Yes, that’s me. Greetings to Senior Uncle.” Rong Kaixuan quickly went forward to greet him and didn’t dare be rude.
Wang Xiaoxiao quietly said, “Junior Kaixuan, this is the Head Librarian of the Manuals Library, Senior Uncle Huang Zixuan.”
Rong Kaixuan was surprised by that. The Manuals Library was definitely an important place to the clan, but the Head Librarian wasn’t a Rong family member. It was clear that this middle-aged man was definitely a person of extremely high standing in the clan.
Huang Zixuan looked coldly at Rong Kaixuan and said, “I understand from Xiao’er that you want to read all the first level manuals of every type.”
“Yes,” Rong Kaixuan replied quietly as he hung his head.
“What stage are you at now? How long have you been cultivating your spells?”
“I am an Elementary Stage Spiritualist, and I have cultivated spells for slightly over a month,” Rong Kaixuan honestly replied.
“Tsk.” There was a glint in Huang Zixuan’s eyes, as well as a tinge of anger in them. “You’ve only cultivated for a month, yet you want to read all the basic spells manuals available. Do you know that there’s a proper sequence that a Spiritualist should follow when cultivating?”
Rong Kaixuan had an awkward smile as he replied, “I understand.” He looked up and looked straight into Huang Zixuan’s eyes confidently. “But I think I could still try.”
He had said these words with such confidence and determination, so Huang Zixuan was taken aback.
They continued to stare at each other for a few moments. Huang Zixuan’s expression had become extremely stern. “Since this is a special privilege granted by the Elder, I will not interfere.” He tossed a jade tag toward Rong Kaixuan. “You can only remain on the first story, and you are not to enter the second story. Also, within the first story, you will only be allowed to read Level 1 low-grade spells.”
Rong Kaixuan nodded but couldn’t help asking, “Senior Uncle, when will I be able to read Level 1 high-grade spells?”
Huang Zixuan smiled because he was simply too angry. He coldly replied, “If you want to read Level 1 high-grade spells, you have to be at least a Middle Stage Spiritualist. Also, there are strict requirements on your control of Spirit Power of Heaven and Earth. Most Spiritualists only get to try high-grade spells after they become Peak Stage Spiritualists.” His expression seemed to be mocking Rong Kaixuan now. “But I’ll make an exception for you. If you are able to fully grasp all the Level 1 low-grade spells of the basic five elements, then regardless of your Spirit Power cultivation, I’ll let you read the manuals for high-grade spells.”
Even though Rong Kaixuan could sense that the man was mocking him, he didn’t get angry. Instead, he looked gleeful and bowed deeply toward Huang Zixuan as he responded in gratitude, “Thank you Senior Uncle for granting me this.”
Huang Zixuan was surprised by his reaction. The look in his eyes started to become strange.
Rong Kaixuan nodded to both of them at the door before walking into the library.
Huang Zixuan hesitated for a moment before remarking, “Xiao’er, don’t tell me he’s really going to learn all the Level 1 low-grade spells?
Wang Xiaoxiao shrugged her shoulders slightly and replied with a sigh, “I really don’t know either.”
Huang Zixuan scoffed quietly and said, “He’s such a promising child, but he’s so arrogant and way too confident of himself.”
The servants in charge of keeping the place clean were standing behind them. They exchanged glances when they heard these words. In no time, Huang Zixuan’s comments had spread through the entire clan.
