The Manuals Library was an important place that the clan used to keep manuals, but it was also the best place for disciples to study techniques.
Rong Kaixuan had a special identity. When he was reading the spell manuals, he instantly caught the attention of the other three Advanced Stage Spiritualists sitting in the same room as him.
After they saw the obvious change in Rong Kaixuan’s expression, the three of them looked at one another. They were all confused and puzzled.
Had he already comprehended the contents of the manual so quickly?
That thought only flashed through their minds for a moment. They knew all about the manual in Rong Kaixuan’s hands—Flowing Water Waves. It was a famous spell among the Water element spells because it was incredibly effective at confusing the enemy. Almost every water element Spellcaster chose to cultivate this particular spell.
Flowing Water Waves was only a Level 1 low-grade spell, but it was the best out of all the Level 1 spells.
The effect of the spell was powerful, so it required an extremely high level of control of water element Spirit Power to cast the spell.
Even a Peak Stage Spiritualist might not grasp or understand this technique well, never mind an Elementary Stage Spiritualist.
So, there was no way they were going to believe that Rong Kaixuan was able to grasp the technique of casting Flowing Water Waves after meditating for just 15 minutes.
But they would never know what really happened.
Rong Kaixuan’s Divine Sense was connected with all the Spirit Body Spellcasters in the mountains far away from the Main House. Since these Spirit Body Spellcasters were natural Spellcasters, their control of their type of Spirit Power had reached a level that was both indescribable and difficult to imagine. This was the gift that a Spirit Body had, so no human or other living creature could ever reach this level, no matter how powerful they became.
After all, Spirit Bodies themselves were a part of the Spirit Power of Heaven and Earth. One could have said that they were a child of the Spirit Power of Heaven and Earth. Thus, they were naturally able to control the type of Spirit Power they were born with.
If the spell Rong Kaixuan read was a high-level spell, perhaps this water element Spirit Body Spellcaster would not have been able to fully grasp it at its current level of cultivation.
Since this spell was merely a Level 1 spell, it wouldn’t prove to be too difficult for this Spirit Body Spellcaster.
It seemed like this water element Spirit Body Spellcaster was able to comprehend the true meaning of this spell the moment it received it via Rong Kaixuan’s Divine Sense. It had also been able to unleash this spell’s power perfectly in a fight.
At the same time, since Rong Kaixuan’s Divine Sense was one with the Spirit Body Spellcaster. It was as if Rong Kaixuan was the one engaged in the fight and had cast Flowing Water Waves several times himself.
So, by this stage, even if Rong Kaixuan knew nothing about spellcasting before this, he could now actually do it according to the manual.
Rong Kaixuan sensed that others were looking strangely at him, so he sat up and turned to look at them.
The three of them quickly smiled as if they were being nice and looked like they were concerned about him.
Rong Kaixuan nodded in response and closed his eyes again. This time, he was really taking a nap to recuperate and recover.
After an entire hour passed, Rong Kaixuan felt that his energy was more or less back to its original level. He stood up, put the manual back, and picked another one to read.
The three of them glanced at one another again. There was nothing but shock in their eyes.
They had seen clearly that Rong Kaixuan had taken a water element spell manual earlier, but this time he had taken an earth element spell manual.
The way he read this manual was the same as the previous manual. After reading it for some time, he shut his eyes and seemed to be either in deep thought or trying to figure something out.
The three Advanced Stage Spiritualists felt strange and faint energy coming from Rong Kaixuan’s body.
Since the energy waves were really faint and didn’t form any sort of spell, the three of them just felt that it was strange but didn’t think much of it despite being able to feel it.
After some time, Rong Kaixuan opened his eyes. There was a huge smile on his face.
After resting for a while, he put the earth element spell manual back and took a gold element spell manual.
By this time, the three Advanced Stage Spiritualists were no longer interested in studying the spell manuals in their own hands. They just kept glancing at each other and were trying to guess what on earth Rong Kaixuan was up to.
Since they were only at the Spiritualist level, even if they had reached Peak Stage of this level, very few would look into spells of different types at the same time.
The Spiritualist level was the very first stage in the path of a Spiritualist.
This was the time when they focused on just learning and building their foundation. Anyone who hoped that they could manage spells of various combinations was definitely an idiot.
Yet, in just one day, Rong Kaixuan had read three spell manuals in a row. The even more confusing part was that these three spell manuals were for three different types of Spirit Power, so it made it even more difficult for anyone to understand or explain.
The way Rong Kaixuan read manuals was also extremely different from others. After reading the manual, he would shut his eyes for a while and rest for an hour or so.
He took a maximum of about four hours to finish reading an entire spell manual.
The speed was really fast, but it definitely wasn’t slow.
For most Spiritualists, after they entered the Manuals Library, they normally read only one manual. After reading, they would spend a large amount of time to cultivate it until they were sure that they had succeeded in cultivating this particular spell or give up if they finally concluded that this spell was not suitable for themselves.
While one couldn’t say that nobody did it like Rong Kaixuan, it was definitely out of the ordinary. At least, nobody in the last few centuries in the history of the Rong clan had ever done it like that.
After reading three manuals, Rong Kaixuan didn’t continue because he was already too tired.
He stood up, nodded slightly at his three seniors, and left with a faint smile on his face.
After they watched him leave the library, the three of them finally couldn’t stand it anymore and started whispering among themselves.
“My seniors, what do you think Kaixuan is trying to do?”
“He’s trying to learn spellcasting, I believe.”
“But he already has Lady Wang to guide him in that, so why is he still here to read more?” one of them enviously remarked.
He was an admirer of Wang Xiaoxiao and jealous and envious of the treatment Rong Kaixuan got. He also knew very well that he was far off from Rong Kaixuan in terms of his gift and constitution, so there was no way he would ever receive such treatment.
Another one laughed quietly and said, “That’s easy to find out. Let’s just ask someone.”
The three of them had been Spiritualists for a long time in the clan, so they were of a much higher status than those librarians in the Manuals Library.
They went around to ask and immediately found out what happened. Even Huang Zixuan’s comments about Rong Kaixuan reached their ears word for word.
After hearing that, the three of them didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
They had never met such an audacious character in their entire life.
An Elementary Stage Spiritualist actually wanted to learn the spells of all types of Spirit Power? That was really overestimating himself.
Before long, there were rumors about Rong Kaixuan flying all over the Hall of Spiritualists. Everyone agreed that this boy was too confident of himself and had become complacent, so he was bound to fall from grace sooner or later.
Rong Kaixuan never asked or heard anything that others said about him. He focused all his energies on studying and cultivating spellcasting.
Every day, he reported to the Manuals Library at the same time and read two or three manuals at once.
After reading each manual, he sent all the contents of the manual to the Spirit Body Spellcasters via the shadows in the little round ball between in eyebrows so that they could learn and cast the spells.
When the Spirit Bodies were casting the spells, Rong Kaixuan made sure to leave his consciousness with the Spirit Bodies.
He clearly felt the entire process of how the spells were cast even though his actual body had never cast a spell before, so he now had the experience of casting each spell at least a hundred times. On top of that, he had never failed even once in casting the spell a hundred times.
He spent an entire month just soaking up the manuals of the Manuals Library.
After a month, he picked up a new manual to read. After frowning, he put it back.
The manual was not a spell for the basic five elements. It was a Level 1 low-grade spell for ice-type Spirit Power.
Rong Kaixuan had five elemental Spirit Body Spellcasters among the Spirit Bodies he evoked, but none of them were of the ice type. As such, even if he tried to learn the spells for this type, he wouldn’t be able to grasp it in such a short time.
He looked at the bookshelf in front of him and realized that he had read more than half the manuals already.
The spells for the five elements were all considered foundational spells for a reason.
The number of basic spells for the five elements formed the majority and were even more than all the other types combined.
Rong Kaixuan looked intensely at the bookshelf that he had immersed himself in for the past month and left without hesitating.
After he left, the person who had been watching him all this while finally breathed a sigh of relief.
If Rong Kaixuan also wanted to read the spell manuals outside of the five elements, then Huang Zixuan was going to stop him as the Head Librarian, even though he allowed Rong Kaixuan to read anything on this level.
Rong Kaixuan went back home like any other day. He was surprised that his grandfather, Rong Jielin, was pacing outside his room door. He seemed to have waited for a long time now.
“Grandpa, what’s happened?” Rong Kaixuan quickly ran up to him. “If you’re looking for me, you could just call me over. You didn’t have to come here personally.”
Rong Jielin smiled and replied, “My dear boy, I just came out for a walk and happened to pass by.”
Rong Kaixuan blinked a few times. He sensed that the old man wasn’t telling him the truth.
After coughing quietly, Rong Jielin asked, “Kaixuan, I heard that you’ve been reading spell manuals at the Manuals Library of the Hall of Spiritualists every day lately.”
Rong Kaixuan was surprised. “Grandpa, how did you know about that?”
Rong Jielin had cultivated True Qi, so he had nothing to do with Spirit Power. For the happenings within the Hall of Spiritualists to reach his ears, who knew how many people these stories had already gone through before him.
“Oh, I happened to overhear some people talking about it, so I took note of it.” Rong Jielin stopped smiling and asked, “Kaixuan, tell me very honestly, why are you in such a hurry?” He paused for a while and said, “Even though the methods of cultivation for a Spiritualist and a Martial Artist are different in some ways, the one important thing they have in common, which is absolutely essential, is building a foundation. If you build a good foundation, you will be able to achieve more in the future. You’ve only just started on the path of a Spiritualist, so how could you be so greedy?”
Rong Kaixuan rubbed his nose and smiled bitterly. “Grandpa, don’t worry, I won’t be going to the library from tomorrow onward.”
Rong Jielin was surprised and looked suspiciously at his grandson.
He had thought that he would have to spend a long time talking to this boy to make him give up this foolish thought and might have even needed to use his authority as an elder of the family against him.
To his surprise, Rong Kaixuan actually agreed so easily.
