Chapter 41: Deal

The other two lazy-looking and dejected shop assistants inside the shop suddenly came to life. They quickly walked over with light footsteps.

Rong Kaixuan’s heart skipped a beat. He instantly felt a very powerful aura coming from these shop assistants.

This was an aura that Martial Artists had. Even though the other party had quickly kept it away after unleashing it and it was almost impossible to detect, Rong Kaixuan had the heart of a Martial Artist. As long as the other party unleashed even just a little bit, he could detect it at once.

The three of them shook their heads at the same time. One of them asked, “Young man, where did you get this talisman from?”

Rong Kaixuan frowned slightly and replied, “Do you need to know where my items come from when you buy them from me?”

The man quickly replied, “According to the rules, we should not ask about where the items come from. But anyone who can create Supreme Level Spirit Body Fighter Sealing Talismans must be a very powerful Spirit Gatherer.” He laughed bitterly and asked, “If this talisman was created by an elder in your family and it was given to you to protect you, how could we take it from you?”

Rong Kaixuan was a little surprised by this reason. “There’s such a rule?”

The man nodded gravely. “We swear by the name of Donghua Treasure Hall that none of us would dare lie to you.”

Spiritualists were the most powerful existence in this world.

Anyone who was able to create a Supreme Level talisman was one of the best among Spirit Gatherers, so the shop assistants weren’t willing to offend a Spirit Gatherer over one talisman.

That wouldn’t be worth it.

Rong Kaixuan nodded his head slowly and said, “I created this talisman myself.”

There was no point in hiding this fact. Besides, if his plan worked out, he would be coming back here for a long time to come. Since the other party would find out sooner or later, it didn’t make sense to try so hard to hide this fact.

The three shop assistants’ eyes instantly lit up at the same time. After looking at how young Rong Kaixuan was, they also had some suspicions in their eyes.

Even though Rong Kaixuan started to despise these hypocritical shop assistants, he had to admit that he was still fairly excited deep inside.

He scoffed quietly and said, “I’ve come here to sell this talisman, so I don’t care who serves me as long as I am offered a suitable price for this.”

“Sure, sure.” The shop assistant responded quickly and said, “Sir, please take a seat, I’ll be right back.”

He turned and left. The other two shop assistants immediately showed him to a seat, poured him tea, and offered him water to wash his face and wipe his hands.

Rong Kaixuan picked up the teacup and took a sip as if he knew how to appreciate tea.

He imitated the way Rong Jiexuan drank tea and looked the part. Once the tea entered his mouth, he didn’t feel anything besides the faint fragrance of the tea.

He couldn’t understand. Every time he saw Elder Jiexuan drink tea, he always looked like the tea was delicious. Why couldn’t he enjoy the tea the same way?

After a few moments, the assistant came running back. A man around 30 years of age followed behind him.

This man had a smooth and fair face and a friendly smile on his face. This smile seemed to carry a mysterious sort of power. Anyone who saw him would find him likable and lower their guard.

The man looked at Rong Kaixuan seriously and said with a smile. “So, I heard that a Spirit Gatherer has come into the shop to sell a Supreme Grade Spirit Body Fighter Sealing Talisman.” He paused and clasped his fists before politely saying, “I have come running out as quickly as possible, but I really didn’t expect you to be so young. I apologize for my rudeness.”

Rong Kaixuan’s face turned slightly red. “You’re being too polite.”

The man shook his head and said, “My name is Ye Jianhao, one of the managers at Donghua Treasure Hall. May I have your name?”

Rong Kaixuan replied in a low voice, “My name is Rong Kaixuan.”

“Rong…” Ye Jianhao thought for a moment and said, “There’s only one family with the surname Rong in this county.”

Rong Kaixuan nodded gravely. “That’s right, I’m from that Rong family.”

Ye Jianhao’s eyes lit up. “From what I know, the Hall of Spiritualists in the Rong house has no Spirit Gatherer.”

Rong Kaixuan had a proud smile on his face. “There wasn’t any before me, but now there will be.”

Ye Jianhao was taken aback by this response. He hit himself on the head and laughed awkwardly. “That’s right, that’s right.” He turned to look at the talisman that was on the counter.

His judgment was excellent. With just one glance, he immediately knew that this talisman was genuine.

Countless thoughts passed through his head before he said with a smile, “Young man, since you say that you were the one who created this Spirit Body Fighter Sealing Talisman, I believe you probably have more than one talisman on hand.”

Rong Kaixuan didn’t say anything. He pulled the other two pieces out and passed them to Ye Jianhao.

Ye Jianhao’s eyes lit up as he took them from Rong Kaixuan and inspected them carefully. “The method of sealing on these three talismans are the same. There’s practically no difference, so the same person must have created them.” He looked back at Rong Kaixuan and said with a smile, “I believe you, young man. How much do you want to sell each one for?”

Rong Kaixuan hummed for a while before replying, “I’m not very sure what the market rates are, so I will need Manager Ye to advise me on this.”

When Ye Jianhao heard these words, he started to relax.

After some thought, he said, “Young man, I’ll be honest with you. A Level 1 Supreme Grade Spirit Body Fighter Sealing Talisman is considered very valuable. Even though we do sell them, we don’t sell many. They go for as high as 50 Spirit Coins a piece.”

Rong Kaixuan’s eyelid twitched slightly. Even though he already knew that these talismans wouldn’t come cheap, the price was still beyond what he had imagined.

He still remembered that merchant from long before had spoken against Rong Kaixuan in the marketplace over just one Spirit Coin.

Thus, 50 Spirit Coins would have made him incredibly wealthy.

Of course, Rong Kaixuan knew that selling and buying were two completely different matters. It was up to Ye Jianhao to push the buying price down.

Ye Jianhao smiled faintly and said quietly, “If you want to sell all three talismans to us, I can make the decision of buying them for 150 Spirit Coins.”

“What?” Rong Kaixuan looked up with a start. He questioningly gazed at Ye Jianhao. “Manager Ye, if I understood you correctly, you said that this sort of talisman would sell for 50 Spirit Coins a piece, right?”

“That’s right.”

Rong Kaixuan asked doubtfully, “If that’s the case, then by paying me 150 Spirit Coins, you wouldn’t make any profit, right?”

Actually, if the selling price and buying price was identical, then the merchant wouldn’t just not profit, he might even have to pay the difference out of his own pocket.

“Ha-ha!” Ye Jianhao laughed loudly. “According to our rules, we’re allowed to sell at twice the price we buy. But…” He stopped smiling and said in a low voice, “If you are really a Spirit Gatherer, you can enjoy this special price match from Donghua Treasure Hall.”

Rong Kaixuan blinked a few times. He didn’t really understand why the other party was doing this, but since it greatly benefitted him, he wasn’t going to refuse the offer.

He stood up, bowed deeply to Ye Jianhao, and said, “If that’s the case, I’ll have to thank Manager Ye in advance.”

Ye Jianhao laughed merrily and replied, “You’re being too polite with me. If you still want to buy and sell talismans in the future, I hope you’ll remember to come back to us.”

Rong Kaixuan nodded repeatedly and promised to do just that.

If the shop paid him the same price they sold his items for, there was nowhere else he could find such a good deal. He quickly agreed on the spot.

Ye Jianhao glanced at his assistant, who immediately brought a small bag over.

The bag seemed rather heavy and gave off the sound of Spirit Coins clinking against each other.

“Check the amount and see if it’s correct.”

Rong Kaixuan took the bag. He opened it and saw that it was filled with nothing but Spirit Coins. He took a deep breath and said, “Since you’re the one who brought it over, it should be correct.”

“Oh, you’re really easygoing about this,” Ye Jianhao said with a pleased smile as he nodded.

Rong Kaixuan hesitated for a moment before he suddenly asked, “Manager Ye, do you have blank talismans for sale here?”

Ye Jianhao’s eyes sparkled a little and said, “Blank talismans go for one Spirit Coin a piece. How many would you like to purchase?”

Rong Kaixuan thought about it for a few moments. He pulled out 100 Spirit Coins from the bag. “I would like 100 blank talismans.”

Ye Jianhao looked deeply at Rong Kaixuan. When Rong Kaixuan initially said that he was a Spirit Gatherer, Ye Jianhao didn’t quite believe him.

After all, it was practically impossible for someone as young as Rong Kaixuan to be able to create a Supreme Grade Spirit Body Fighter Sealing Talisman.

He didn’t think the Rong family could groom such a genius.

After Rong Kaixuan asked for 100 blank talismans, he started to believe it.

Blank talismans were completely useless to most people. If Rong Kaixuan wasn’t a Spirit Gatherer, he wouldn’t need to buy so many.

After a few moments, 100 blank talismans were packed in a small box and passed to him.

These talismans could be sold at a high price, but the papers themselves were not large. Even after stacking a pile of 100 pieces together, it was only enough to fill a small box.

Rong Kaixuan weighed the box in his hands and was surprised.

The material of this small box seemed different from anything he knew. It wasn’t an ordinary wooden nor metal box.

Ye Jianhao seemed to notice his confusion and laughed loudly. “Young man, this is a box we use to specially keep talismans, so it’s a little different in terms of the way it’s made.”

Rong Kaixuan nodded. He got up and took his leave.

Ye Jianhao did not ask him to stay any longer because this was the first deal between them, so Rong Kaixuan might not trust him.

When Rong Kaixuan left the shop, Ye Jianhao nodded at one of his assistants. The assistant immediately got up and left the shop to follow behind Rong Kaixuan.
