Invincible Evocation - Chapter 44
Chapter 44: Heartbroken
An incredible beam of light suddenly burst out from the middle of the fight.
The moment this huge beam of light appeared, the black giant python that kept attacking Rong Kaihua immediately exploded.
The long sword in Rong Kaihua’s hands released a brilliant immeasurable glow. His entire body was covered in a gigantic ball of incandescence.
However, after unleashing this much fighting power, some blood also dribbled out from Rong Kaihua’s mouth.
After defeating the black giant python around him, he didn’t stop there. He dashed out as fast as lightning. His speed had reached an extreme because of the surging True Qi within his body.
It only took one step for him to reach Rong Kaixuan. The sword gave off a blinding glow. The moment he swung the sword, it unleashed a tremendous power that blasted the two Spirit Body Fighters and second black giant python away.
Rong Kaixuan’s eyes widened. He never imagined his eldest cousin was that brave and invincible. However, there was a bad premonition in his heart. It wasn’t a good sign for a Peak Stage Martial Artist to be able to unleash such terrifying levels of fighting ability.
When his gaze fell upon the dribbling blood that was coming out from the corner of Rong Kaihua’s mouth, his heart immediately sank.
But Rong Kaihua was not done yet. He forced his three attackers to retreat with one swing of the sword and stretched a hand out to hold onto Rong Kaixuan tightly. He was one with his sword and became a colorful ray of light that shot out toward the Protecting Light Curtain.
Pak!
A terrific blast rang in Rong Kaixuan’s ears. He felt his head spin from the vibration.
After that, he could clearly see that there was now a huge hole in the light curtain.
The glow of the sword filled the air. There was an excited gleam in Rong Kaihua’s eyes. He maneuvered the Qi of the sword and was about to burst out from the light curtain.
At that moment, a creepy sound suddenly came from below them.
Lin Hui, the leader of the attackers, also had a very pale face. Yet, he raised one palm and shot a green vine out. This green vine extended itself and had grabbed onto Rong Kaihua’s legs. It was now swiftly making its way up and reached his waist in no time.
The vine had great pulling strength and a strange numbing effect. Rong Kaihua tried his best to struggle free, but the vine was wrapping itself more tightly around him. He was even having difficulty breathing.
The Protecting Light Curtain was incredibly powerful. Even though he had temporarily made a hole in it, the light curtain was quickly repairing itself.
He watched as the hole in the light curtain rapidly shrunk. The pulling force from below was getting stronger. The biggest problem was that the strength in his body was draining away at a speed that was difficult to describe.
“Ah!” Rong Kaihua’s face was almost as red as blood. He loudly shouted and flicked his wrist hard.
Rong Kaixuan’s body immediately flew out from the Protecting Light Curtain like he was a billowing cloud in the wind.
Rong Kaihua had used all his strength to fling Rong Kaixuan out. Thus, he didn’t just fling Rong Kaixuan out of the light curtain. He also flung him out of the courtyard.
Pak! Rong Kaixuan crashed heavily on a piece of empty ground.
Compared to the pain on his body, his heart hurt even more.
His body was trembling violently. He clenched his fists tightly. His skin was slightly reddish because he was too agitated.
Nobody knew how agitated and emotional he felt at the moment when Rong Kaihua flung him out.
In that instant, he fell into a deep pit of guilt.
If he hadn’t left the house all by himself, Rong Kaihua wouldn’t have landed in this predicament.
Selling Spirit Body Fighter Sealing Talismans wasn’t anything to be ashamed of, so why did he bother being all secretive and hide it from his family?
His emotions exploded like a landslide. It was as if a furious 900-foot tsunami rose from the sea and crashed against his heart again and again. It caused his heartbeat to increase. He felt like he might completely collapse from how violently it was pounding.
He knew that as long as he made it to the main street, he would be able to stay alive. He also knew that if he ran away now, Rong Kaihua was going to die.
His eyes were bloodshot, and there was fresh blood seeping out from between his teeth because he clenched them too tightly.
After that, he spun around and stepped hard on his feet. His body flew up. He landed back within the walls of the courtyard.
If he had to die, the two brothers were going to die together.
****
Back within the light curtain, Lin Hui let out an angry and shocking roar as he pulled the vine back with all his strength and dragged Rong Kaihua back to crash onto the ground.
This exertion of strength instantly kicked up all the dust on the ground.
Pak! Pak! Pak!
Within the light curtain, the three Peak Stage Martial Artists were still fighting the three Spirit Body Fighters. Based on just their ability alone, a Peak Stage Martial Artist should have been more powerful than an ordinary Spirit Body Fighter. These three Spirit Body Fighters were of a superior grade and way more powerful than an ordinary Spirit Body Fighter. Even after fighting for so long and sustaining so many injuries, they were still able to recover very quickly and keep fighting.
Lin Hui waved his hands and sent his two Spirit Body Fighters and the remaining black colored giant python to go separate ways and help the martial artists fight Rong Kaixuan’s Spirit Body Fighters.
Meanwhile, he quickly ran up and stepped firmly on Rong Kaihua’s chest.
Rong Kaihua had already dropped the long sword in his hand. His body was tightly wrapped up by that green vine. Large amounts of blood flowed from his mouth.
Lin Hui anxiously said, “Hurry up and call that boy to come back here!”
Any True Qi left in Rong Kaihua’s body had been completely consumed when he displayed a technique that was beyond his cultivation level earlier. Now, the vine was wrapped tightly around him, but he couldn’t fight back. There was a mocking smile on his face. His eyes seemed to be saying, “Do you think he will come back?”
Lin Hui was furious and stepped down on Rong Kaihua even harder as he roared loudly, “Hurry up and finish off these three Spirit Bodies! I’ll deactivate the light curtain, and we’ll leave immediately…” His words suddenly stopped as he looked in front with a pleasantly surprised look on his face.
A figure had suddenly leaped in from outside the courtyard. It was the young Spirit Gatherer that Rong Kaihua had flung out earlier.
Lin Hui was frozen for a moment. He blinked his eyes in disbelief until he was finally sure of who the other party was.
After Rong Kaixuan had made it out of the courtyard, he had lost all hope. He never would have believed that someone would be dumb enough to come back in.
The reality in front of him made him want to leap for joy.
Rong Kaihua was at Lin Hui’s feet and glared straight at Rong Kaixuan. His face was drained of color as he opened his mouth to murmur, “Run, hurry up and run…”
Lin Hui exerted a little more force in his foot. The blood flowed even harder from Rong Kaihua’s mouth. His expression was as terrifying and horrifying as a vengeful ghost as he stared straight at his cousin.
Lin Hui looked up with a smile and said, “Hello young man, come over here.”
The Protecting Light Curtain was considered an extremely rare Spirit Weapon. The one he had was of the lowest grade, so it could only prevent one from going out. It didn’t prevent one from coming in.
Also, the ability to stop someone wasn’t strong. If a Martial Arts Teacher was around, he would have been able to break the defense down.
It was more than enough to deal with a couple of cultivators at their first level of cultivation.
Rong Kaixuan was standing outside the light curtain. If Lin Hui wanted to take him down, he either had to break this light curtain or deactivate it. Either way, he couldn’t instantly do that.
If that boy turned around and left, he could immediately run far away from here.
He needed the boy to step back into the light curtain.
Rong Kaixuan clenched both fists tightly. His emotions had reached their maximum point.
Perhaps it was because of his overly agitated emotions, but he sensed the mysterious round ball in between his eyebrows was beginning to go through a strange sort of change.
The six shadows that were within the little round ball started to swell. They filled up every bit of space within the round ball and seemed like they were going to get bigger and bigger.
Rong Kaixuan didn’t know if this change was for the better or worse, but he had a feeling that this was probably the only chance he had to survive.
He locked his gaze on Lin Hui and allowed the shadows to continue growing larger and larger. Even if the round ball exploded and turned his brain into nothing but blood and mush, he didn’t care anymore.
No matter how hard he tried, he seemed to be missing just that little bit more.
Lin Hui scoffed quietly when he saw that Rong Kaixuan still hadn’t stepped in. He stretched a hand out and waved it so that the black giant python, which had already made several holes in one of the Spirit Body Fighters, immediately came flying over.
He smiled coldly and said, “Since you don’t care about your brother’s life, I’ll let you watch how he’s going to die.”
He tapped the air. The giant python immediately opened its mouth. A huge cloud of black fog gushed out and covered Rong Kaihua’s face.
“Unggh.”
Rong Kaihua had already clenched his teeth tightly, but he couldn’t help but let out a terrible groan. In just a moment, his body was drenched in a cold sweat from the pain that he was feeling.
His body suddenly tensed up and the green vine seemed to be a little unable to endure such a violent struggle. It looked like it was about to burst apart.
Lin Hui loudly said, “Not bad, not bad, you’re pretty resilient and you didn’t yell out in pain.” He had a smile on his face that was cruel and somewhat psychotic as he looked up at Rong Kaixuan, who was wide-eyed and dumbfounded. He seemed to be in a daze from fright. “Aren’t you coming back in? I’m going to continue letting him enjoy this then.”
After the giant python sprayed Rong Kaihua with the black fog, his face was instantly covered with a faint layer of black fog. His hair started to fall off at an alarming rate, and his skin was soon covered in several bumps the size of peanuts. His face was now terrifying and tragic looking. He no longer looked cool and handsome anymore.
Rong Kaixuan’s eyes widened. When he witnessed this scene, his heart suddenly stopped. A mysterious and unexplainable energy instantly covered his entire body.
Time seemed to have suddenly stopped. Even the wind blowing in the air seemed to have come to a standstill.
He entered into an empty universe that seemed to have nobody else but himself.
In this universe, everything stood still and silent.
After that, he heard a pak sound.
The sound seemed to come from within his heart, but it also seemed to ring out from between his eyebrows.
His heart was broken. At the same time, the other thing that broke along with his heart was that mysterious round ball in between his eyebrows.
