Let’s Divorce! - Chapter 36
Chapter 36 Probe
After Mu Hua helped Zhu Qian into the room to rest, he returned to the master bedroom to see Xia Ran, but the door was locked again.
Xia Ran’s childish act of locking the door for no reason made Mu Hua very tired. He knocked on the door. “Xia Ran, open the door before I get angry!”
His tone was harsh. He sounded ready to snap.
During this period of time, the two of them had been in conflict because of Zhu Qian. They quarreled more and more. Xia Ran didn’t want this to happen either. She restrained her temper and got up to open the door.
“Why did you come back? Why didn’t you sleep at her place? She’s blind. She can’t sleep alone, right?” Although she had opened the door, Xia Ran’s tone was derisive.
Mu Hua had wanted to coax her, but when he heard her words, he was furious.
“You said she’s pretending to be blind. I’ve already tested her just now. She’s not pretending. Xia Ran, don’t bully others just because I’m good to you!” Mu Hua scolded coldly.
Everything was Xia Ran’s fault anyway. She had deliberately caused Zhu Qian to be hit by a car. She had deliberately hit Zhu Qian and even slandered her. In Mu Hua’s heart, she was just a young and willful brat.
Xia Ran had never thought that the man she loved deeply would look at her like this.
Didn’t Mu Hua know anything about what she was like?’
“Alright, she’s really pitiful and I’m evil, alright?” Xia Ran lay on the bed and buried her head in the pillow without even looking at Mu Hua.
“Stop it!” Mu Hua scowled.
“What did I do? Mu Hua, how can you be so unfair? Didn’t she mess up my life first?” Xia Ran was very disappointed.
Before Zhu Qian appeared, Mu Hua treated Xia Ran very well. They rarely quarreled. No matter what happened, Mu Hua would always give in to Xia Ran. After all, he was ten years older than Xia Ran.
Now that he had Zhu Qian, Xia Ran was no longer his only apple of the eye. Crying had become a common occurrence.
Just as the two of them were arguing, Zhu Qian appeared at the door. She felt very proud and happy. Listening to Mu Hua and Xia Ran arguing, she felt that half of her plan had already succeeded. However, she still had to continue acting and continue to pretend to be a good person.
“Mu Hua, what’s wrong? Did you quarrel with Xia Ran again?” Zhu Qian fumbled her way to the master bedroom door and looked worried.
Mu Hua and Xia Ran were both in a fit of anger, and neither of them said anything.
Zhu Qian was a little embarrassed, but if she wasn’t thick-skinned enough, she wouldn’t be able to get rid of Xia Ran. She quickly adjusted her emotions and deliberately turned her head blankly, as if she couldn’t tell where Xia Ran was. However, her words were directed at Xia Ran.
“Xia Ran, you’re Mu Hua’s wife now. Although I hate to admit it, this is an undeniable fact. Mu Hua is usually very tired from work. It’s fine if you can’t share his burden, but how can you be so willful and make him even more tired?”
What bullshit! Xia Ran knew that Zhu Qian had said that on purpose to seem understanding to Mu Hua.
At the same time, Xia Ran’s willful and childish side was magnified in Mu Hua’s eyes.
This was a private matter between her and Mu Hua. What did it have to do with Zhu Qian?
Xia Ran looked at the woman at the door. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. She suddenly walked to the drawer and took out a sharp knife that she usually used for surgery.
Mu Hua was about to stop her when Xia Ran made a shushing gesture and walked silently to Zhu Qian.
Zhu Qian actually saw it too and panicked. What did Xia Ran want to do? Did she want to kill her?
But she had to pretend she didn’t know anything. “What’s wrong? Why aren’t you talking? Mu Hua, are you there?”
Xia Ran stood in front of Zhu Qian. She felt that Zhu Qian wasn’t blind and wanted to verify it in front of Mu Hua.
She picked up the knife and aimed the sharp edge at Zhu Qian’s eyes. Then she slowly approached.
Anyone who could see would be afraid of the knife closing in on them, especially if it was aimed at their eyes. They would certainly react in fear or nervousness.
Zhu Qian was so good at acting. Wasn’t she afraid that she would really pierce those eyes?
Zhu Qian forced herself not to stare at the knife. If she did, she wouldn’t look blind anymore. She pretended to be calm. When the knife was only a centimeter away from her, she lost her composure. Xia Ran might be crazy.
“Xia—” Zhu Qian began, but Mu Hua spoke first.
“Enough! Xia Ran!”
